Chapter Seventeen: Everyone is Growing Up

Of course, in any class, there are always a few students who don't like to study. Although they are in the top class, they will be adjusted from time to time based on their daily performance and major exams. However, after a year, there will be no major changes. Some students will slack off for various reasons and will not take their studies as seriously.

On the day she returned to school, Su Xun looked at the fresh blood running around the campus and felt very emotional. The scene of her and her mother coming to school to register last year was still vivid in her mind. In the blink of an eye, she was no longer a freshman. Looking at the blank or curious and expectant eyes on the playground, she thought that she must have been like that last year.

Students in grades 8 and 9 only need to go to their original classroom to register and hand over their homework and tuition to their homeroom teacher. Unlike freshmen, they don't need to run around and go through various procedures.

As she walked down the familiar corridor on the third floor of Building A, she could already see her classmates doing their homework in the classroom through the glass windows. They were the same classmates who sent messages in the group chat every day asking about everyone's homework progress.

It must have been the homeroom teacher who noticed their inappropriate attitude while checking their homework, which is why they were made to finish it at their seats before they could register. In reality, the homeroom teacher wouldn't really prevent them from registering; they were just trying to scare them a little.

Su Xun had been following the same routine for all six years of elementary school, and he had long since figured out the teachers' methods.

Several students were gathered around the podium. Su Xun planned to return to his seat first and hand in his homework later.

Many students planned to hand in their homework while there were many people around. At this time, the teacher would not check the homework very carefully, and many students did not do their homework very seriously, intending to slack off. However, some went too far and were sent back to their seats by the teacher to do their homework properly.

As for why Su Xun knew the reason, it was because she had done the same thing before. During the winter vacation of her first year of junior high school, the homeroom teacher gave out two thick workbooks with considerable difficulty. Su Xun's level was definitely not enough to finish them, so she secretly tore out a few pages. She wasn't discovered when she registered for the class, but later, after classes officially started, she was suddenly called to the teacher's office and scolded. From then on, she never dared to have such a lucky mentality of taking advantage of the situation again.

After putting down his schoolbag, Pei Ke was already sitting in the classroom, playing with a Rubik's Cube. The Rubik's Cube was no longer the simple 3x3 type he played with in elementary school, but a 5x5 Rubik's Cube that looked very difficult.

It seemed that he had encountered an obstacle. The boy was frowning, his slender fingers deftly turning the cube in his hand, very focused. He didn't even notice Su Xun sitting down next to him.

A tall stack of exercise books was neatly arranged on the table. It seemed that the owners shared the same idea as her: they didn't want to squeeze in and planned to wait until there were fewer people.

The boy seemed to have grown much taller, and his facial features had gradually changed. A few strands of black hair were scattered on his forehead, making him indescribably handsome.

There are many girls at school who admire him.

Perhaps Su Xun had been staring at him for too long, because after feeling a burning gaze, Pei Ke turned around and saw his deskmate staring blankly at his face, and couldn't help but chuckle.

"You've arrived."

Su Xun snapped out of her daze when she heard the low laughter. Her face flushed; she had actually been staring at a boy for so long and had been caught red-handed.

However, when did Pei Ke's voice become so deep? She suddenly remembered what she read in her biology textbook: boys go through a voice change period when they enter puberty.

Everyone is really growing up.
