Chapter 81

The higher you go, the less greenery there is.

Finally, all the cars stopped in an open space, where quite a few private cars were already lined up.

The president and other ministers organized the people on the bus to get off and count the number of people.

"Su Xun, come down and take a picture." Song Xueying was already standing at the front of the car and called out to Su Xun.

Su Xun gathered all her things, slowly stood up, and looked at the slightly sleepy face beside her from the car ride. "Pei Ke, I'll get off first."

Senior Song, who had already gotten off the bus, came up again and urged her to catch up. She quickly followed.

This is a mountaintop at an altitude of about two thousand meters. Several rows of wind turbines are scattered about two hundred meters in front of it, standing straight on the mountaintop, their huge blades turning from time to time.

As soon as I stepped outside, I felt a chill; it was only around 3 p.m. and the air had already turned cold.

She followed the minister around, taking photos of various events.

In the video, a strikingly elegant couple stands together, accompanied by three to five other people, giving instructions.

She then noticed that each of them was carrying a camera bag, indicating they were members of a photography association. The scenery here was indeed beautiful, so they were probably here to take pictures.

The two associations often go out together, but the photography association has its own team and arranges its own itinerary.

Judging from the current situation, Pei Ke is probably the person in charge of this trip for the photography association, and oh, the girl next to him is probably too.

The president gathered everyone together, explained some precautions, and then everyone dispersed, taking tents out of their cars and moving towards the windmill in front.

Each windmill was spaced a considerable distance apart. They chose a row of windmills connected together and pitched their tents under them.

The mountaintop is bare, almost entirely covered with small grasses and rocks, making it exceptionally spacious. Looking into the distance, you can see a sea of clouds surging.

They took out the pre-prepared iron rack and various cooking utensils and laid out the food.

There is little vegetation here, so picnics are allowed. Almost everyone who comes here brings a few tents and cooking utensils to cook their own food while enjoying the scenery.

In autumn, the sky darkens quickly. Around four o'clock in the afternoon, the sun gradually sets behind the sea of clouds in the distance, and a chill slowly creeps in.

Occasionally, the aroma of food wafts through the surrounding area.

Su Xun pulled a thick coat out of his bag and put it on. He had received a notice before setting off that the temperature would drop quickly on the mountaintop and that there would be a large temperature difference between day and night, so they were told to prepare a thick coat for each of them. It came in handy now.

With nothing else to do, she wandered around aimlessly, having no need to collect photos for the time being.

Before I knew it, I had arrived at a windmill standing alone. Unlike other areas that were barren, this place was covered with low trees, which were densely packed together.

A barely noticeable path had been carved out of the surrounding bushes, and she followed it forward.

The view gradually opened up ahead, revealing a small open space.

Not far away, a dark figure sat with his back to her on a rock. Hearing the rustling of the grass and trees behind him, he turned around.

Su Xun pushed aside the branches in front of her, and the figure on the stone faced her. As darkness fell, all the outlines became blurred, and she could not see his eyebrows and eyes clearly. Behind him was a vast sea of clouds, with large patches of orange-red blooming at his feet. Half of the sky was dyed red, and the setting sun was like fire.

As if bewitched by the mountain spirits, his legs moved uncontrollably toward the figure.

She stood beside the rock, facing the sea of clouds, and sat down.

The person beside her slowly turned around and sat down next to her, their eyes fixed ahead. The surroundings were quiet, with only the faint sounds of laughter and playfulness drifting from another hilltop, seemingly from the horizon.

Su Xun turned her head and saw the twilight in the other person's eyes. "It's beautiful here."

The boy turned his head slightly in response to the sound, and their eyes met. A look of surprise and panic flashed in his eyes.

Their noses touched, and she could feel his faint breathing. A faint minty scent surrounded her; he must have eaten some mints earlier, as she had seen the box of mints slip out of his bag in the car.

They both saw their own eyes and panic reflected in each other's pupils, as if they had never been so close before.

The orange light on the horizon slowly faded, and the blue clouds devoured the surrounding light, gradually eroding it. A cool breeze swept in, chilling the air to the bone.

As if bewitched, she was once again seduced, her face gently leaning forward, touching something soft, a cool breath enveloping her.

A slight touch, and they're separated instantly.

Those few seconds felt like an entire day, a whole year.

The last glimmer of light was swallowed up, and night fell completely. She could no longer see the other person's blurry outline, only their eyes, which seemed to be filled with a whole sky of starlight, shimmering brilliantly.
