Chapter Twenty-Nine: A Love Letter

During lunch break, the entire corridor was quiet.

Su Xun reached out and pulled her clothes up a bit so the wind wouldn't blow on her neck.

Su Xun was the geography class representative. During the morning geography class, Teacher Li asked her to go to the office at noon to pick up her workbooks and then distribute them. After Su Xun finished lunch and sat in the classroom for a while, she remembered this task. By the time she went to pick them up, it was already lunch break time, and the teachers were no longer in the office.

Su Xun walked to the office door, which was unlocked and opened with a push.

The door made a distinct sound when it was pushed open, and the figure inside was so frightened that he trembled and dared not make any further move.

Su Xun spotted the figure as soon as she stepped inside. However, she was nearsighted and couldn't see clearly without her glasses. Judging from the figure, it was obviously not a teacher, and the person was wearing a school uniform. Could it be someone who had come to collect homework like her?

However, the spot where she was standing seemed to be the same spot as their geography teacher, so Su Xun walked over to see what was going on.

When Su Xun was only two or three steps away from the person, he finally saw clearly that it was someone he knew: Song Lisha.

Su Xun reached out and patted Song Lisha on the shoulder, "What are you doing here?"

The man shuddered at first, then recognized Su Xun's voice and relaxed completely. "Su Xun, it's you! You scared me to death!"

"You've come to the office. Is there something you need? If not, let me through. I've come to get my homework." Su Xun still remembered being cornered by Song Lisha in the dormitory stairwell during the first year of junior high. He didn't usually interact with her, and their relationship was lukewarm.

"No, it's nothing, I'm leaving now." After saying that, she ran off in a panic.

It's weird.

Ignoring Song Lisha, Su Xun found the workbook that Teacher Li had asked her to take away. The workbook was a bit messy from being flipped through. Teacher Li was a very meticulous person, and her desk was always neatly organized. She had never seen this happen before when she came to collect the workbooks. Could it be that Song Lisha had messed it up when she came earlier?

Why is she flipping through the homework books?

Without much speculation, Su Xun tidied up the workbook and carried it back to the classroom.

At this time, most of the students were sleeping on their desks. Su Xun didn't plan to hand out the workbooks now and disturb their rest, so he put the workbooks next to the desks and handed them back to them after everyone woke up before class.

The first book belonged to Pei Ke. Su Xun saw Pei Ke doodling on the paper and simply handed him the workbook. Pei Ke casually took it, put it in his bag, and didn't even glance at her.

What are you drawing? You seem so engrossed in it.

Su Xun didn't disturb him. She looked up at the clock and saw that there were still about twenty minutes until class started. She planned to take a short nap on her desk during those ten minutes.

The afternoon physics class will require a lot of energy to manage.

Pei Ke casually tossed his bag onto the stool in front of his desk and went outside to get a carton of milk.

He usually doesn't study much after evening self-study; instead, he reads books or watches movies. But today, the teacher assigned a lot of homework, and he only remembered his geography workbook after leaving school, so he can only do it when he gets home.

He pulled the workbook out of his bag. Because he was holding milk in one hand, he could only use one hand to rummage through the bag. When he took it out, a rectangular object fell out, and he bent down to pick it up.

A blue envelope? It has the words "For Pei Ke" written on it.

"Probably another boring love letter," Pei Ke thought with a smirk. Just as he was about to throw it in the trash as usual, he suddenly remembered that Su Xun had just taken the geography workbook from the office and stuffed it into his bag as soon as it was handed out.

Therefore, there is no possibility that someone opened his bag to put the love letter there, let alone that it was Teacher Li who put it there.

The only possibility is—

Su Xun?

A strange, indescribable feeling welled up inside me, and I suddenly felt the blue letter on my fingertips was burning hot.

How could Su Xun do that? She's usually so obedient to her teacher, she shouldn't write something like this.

But it's also possible. She's been secretly watching him these days, thinking he doesn't know. But actually, he's watching her every time Su Xun looks at her. Maybe she has a crush on him.

Su Xun is so shy, she probably wouldn't dare to give him the love letter directly, so she took this roundabout approach, tucking it into his exercise book. No wonder she was so slow coming back from the office today. He could already picture Su Xun blushing furiously when she put the letter in.

Thinking of this, I couldn't help but smile.

Even if Su Xun wrote him a love letter, he wouldn't respond; they were still too young.

Pei Ke finished his milk in one gulp, placed the cup and the blue letter on the table, sat down, leaned back in his chair, and couldn't help but rub his forehead. He didn't intend to pretend nothing had happened and that everything was normal. So how was he going to explain to Su Xun tomorrow? She was such a shy person; what if he made her cry?

This is really giving me a headache. Frustrated, I grabbed a handful of my hair and looked back at that blue color.

I think it'll be okay if I just glance at it, right? Wait, this was originally written for me to see, of course he can see it.

After convincing himself, Pei Ke grabbed the letter and tore it open with a sense of righteous indignation.

"Student Pei Ke,"

I still remember the first time I saw you. The autumn morning sunlight shone on your short, wispy hair, reflecting in your eyes. I felt as if I saw a galaxy of stars in your eyes. That's how your image was etched into my heart. Later, I found myself unconsciously paying attention to you, following your gaze. And then I knew that something important had entered my life, something I could compare to dancing: pursuing you…

Something's not right. Is this a dance?

Pei Ke stopped reading and his eyes swept directly to the end, fixing on the three words "Song Lisha".

For a moment, my mind went blank; I didn't know how to react. This love letter wasn't written by Su Xun.

I can't quite describe the feeling, but I just feel a bit down inside.

A thought suddenly flashed through my mind: could it be that Su Xun helped Song Lisha put the love letter into the exercise book? The exercise book was taken out of the office, so only Su Xun had the opportunity to access it.

An inexplicable anger surged within her. What was this all about? He never hid from Su Xun when he destroyed those love letters, so she should know that he didn't like others writing these things to him.

A feeling of betrayal welled up inside me, lingering for a long time, accompanied by a strange sense of disappointment, and I became increasingly agitated.

Tonight, Pei Ke had a rare sleepless night, dreaming about the love letter.

The next morning, Su Xun saw Pei Ke with a dark face, as if someone owed him a huge sum of money and wouldn't pay it back, with a faint dark shadow under his eyes. "Pei Ke, did you not sleep well last night, or did someone owe you money?"

Seeing the puzzled, seemingly clueless face before him, his expression darkened further.

"Hmph," he scoffed lightly.
