This year, New Year's Day falls on a Saturday, so the New Year's Day holiday is essentially a regular weekend holiday. However, the party will be held on Friday night, so the school has decided to suspend classes starting Friday afternoon, and students can have free time on campus.
After more than half a month of intense rehearsals, Class Two's stage play was successfully selected as the performance, and was scheduled to be performed early in the program.
After lunch, the classes that were going to perform started putting on makeup, leaving a large empty space in the classroom.
Many students were running around on campus. They couldn't wait to take off their school uniforms and put on regular clothes when they finally had half a day of free time. Some female students who love beauty even secretly put on makeup.
However, with final exams approaching, most people still choose to study in the classroom, finish their homework for the next two days, and then rest well at home.
Su Xun sat listlessly in the classroom, feeling utterly bored.
Zhou Beibei is participating in a stage play and has already gone backstage to prepare. Pu Xiaochuan went to the art studio, and Pei Ke was called to the office by the homeroom teacher.
Su Xun, who had nothing to do, hadn't planned to study, but went to find Tang Shi in Class 5. Tang Shi wanted to study properly, so she "sent her back".
So now she has no choice but to reluctantly pull out a set of mock middle school entrance exam papers from her textbooks to pass the time.
Fortunately, time always flies when doing practice problems, and this set of math problems was quite difficult. She spent a lot of time on some of the problems, and by the time she finished the set, dusk had fallen.
In winter, it gets dark much earlier; it gets quite dark around 5 p.m.
At 6:30, the homeroom teacher came to the classroom and gathered the whole class to go to the auditorium, which finally dispelled Su Xun's restless boredom.
It was at this moment that Pei Ke returned to the classroom.
He was called to the office by his homeroom teacher this afternoon. He thought the teacher wanted to see him about something, but he didn't expect to see his mother in the office. She had come to pick him up to attend his grandfather's birthday dinner. He hurriedly ate a dinner and rushed back. He finally made it in time.
Each class entered the auditorium slowly in order of grade. By then, it was completely dark, and the colorful lights outside the auditorium were particularly dazzling in the night.
The auditorium is large enough to accommodate teachers and students from three grades at the same time, with extra space to spare.
The stage was beautifully decorated, but was temporarily covered by a thick red curtain. The curtain was slowly drawn back as the show officially began, revealing the four hosts already on stage; the men were dressed in formal attire, while the women wore gorgeous, elaborate gowns—they looked stunning.
They recited their opening remarks fluently, and the audience erupted in applause, cheers, and whistles.
Su Xun, sitting in the audience, immediately recognized Gan Tang on stage. She was wearing a blue off-the-shoulder dress with sequins adorning the hem, shimmering under the lights. Gan Tang had put on makeup today, making her features even more refined.
It is because of the presence of the sweet pear tree that the people below are so excited.
The programs proceeded one by one. This was the only major gala of the year where classes could showcase their talents to the entire school. Each class brought together all the talented students.
One junior high class even mobilized the entire class to sing together, with the homeroom teacher accompanying them on the piano. The response was exceptionally positive, and the entire auditorium was filled with the fruits of their hard work over the past two weeks.
Su Xun clapped her hands so hard they almost fell off the stage. Although everyone was still just a student, their creativity was boundless. The skit by the second-year junior high class was always witty and humorous, and she laughed non-stop throughout the entire performance.
Soon it was their class's turn to perform, "The Nightingale and the Rose".
Because it was set in medieval Europe, all the actors wore corresponding costumes. The male lead, Shu Lin, wore a silver tailcoat and a wig, and a medieval prince appeared on stage.
The female lead has a lot of dance moves. Her clothes are not as big and complicated as the others. She wears a red dress like a flame. The upper body is fitted, which perfectly shows off her beautiful body. The lower body is just above the knee. Although she moves, the skirt shows off her long legs.
Every leap was like a flame burning in the darkness. The heroine finally collapsed into the prince's arms, and snowflake-like bubbles fell in the center of the stage. The most passionate red and the purest white were exquisitely beautiful.
Song Lisha and Shu Lin led all the actors in saluting and taking their bows.
The audience was so moved by the emotions on stage that it took them a long time to recover, followed by enthusiastic applause. The entire auditorium was filled with praise for the performance.
Looking at the proud, fiery red figure on the stage, Su Xun felt an exceptionally strong emotion welling up from the bottom of her heart. Standing on the stage must feel amazing.
Song Lisha and her group went backstage to change clothes. On this cold winter night, everyone was wearing thin dresses, and their arms were covered in goosebumps. They were fine on stage just now, but now they could barely stand up straight. Everyone quickly found coats to wrap themselves in.
Song Lisha put on her big, thick coat and looked at Zhou Beibei, who was still shivering beside her.
"I need to go to the restroom, do you want to come?"
Zhou Beibei pressed her hands firmly against the fabric around her neck to prevent the wind from getting in. After hearing Song Lisha's words, she shook her head vigorously. It's so cold, maybe she should wait a bit before going to the bathroom.
Song Lisha could only nod and walk towards the auditorium restroom alone.
Their performance just now brought the entire evening to a climax. Now the restroom is almost empty, with only the occasional gust of wind coming from the corridor. Song Lisha shivered after washing her hands and walked forward.
The corridor was dimly lit, making it difficult to see clearly.
Just then, a tall figure walked in from the other end, but she couldn't see him clearly. Only when the two got closer did she suddenly realize that it was Pei Ke.
