As the year draws to a close, Huaicheng was blanketed in a light snowfall.
Su Xun hadn't seen Huaicheng's university for a long time. In previous years, the weather was damp and cold, but there was no snow. Occasionally, a few snowflakes would fall, which would melt after they hit the ground.
This year, a heavy snowfall blanketed the entire city in a silvery white, creating a serene atmosphere.
On that very day, Su Xun and Pei Ke set their wedding date, a decision made jointly by both families, for April of the following year, when the weather was just beginning to warm up.
After the New Year, preparations began, including setting the schedule, choosing a wedding venue, and ordering wedding dresses. Both families were extremely busy.
I don't know when it started, but Huaicheng has also planted cherry blossoms all over the streets. The light pink and white cherry blossoms are interspersed. When the breeze blows, the fallen petals are scattered in the air, on the cars parked by the roadside, and on the artificial lake in the park.
One of the pink pieces was carried far by the wind, swirling around a few times before finally settling down on a pure white skirt.
Her steps were light and unsteady, her skirt gently swept across the lawn, and a petal followed the skirt as it fluttered along.
Before the exchange of rings, a fragrant breeze suddenly wafted by, carrying the petals that had followed them all the way into the sky, where they gradually drifted away. The people sitting below smiled with satisfaction as they watched the newlyweds slip the rings onto each other's fingers.
"The groom may now kiss the bride," the emcee said with a broad smile.
With her family and friends watching intently, Pei Ke was somewhat taken aback. She pursed her lips, and a blush crept up her ears, which Su Xun caught on.
"It's a bit boring," Su Xun said softly, in a voice only the two of them could hear.
"Um?"
"Want something more exciting?" Su Xun's eyes sparkled, and the pearls by her ears gleamed softly in the sunlight.
"What are you planning to do now?" A sense of unease suddenly rose in his heart, but hidden within it was even more surprise and anticipation.
At a crucial moment, the newlyweds not only deviated from the expected procedure on stage, but also began whispering to each other, leaving the audience somewhat confused.
Pei's mother was giving her son a meaningful look from below the stage.
What is this kid thinking? Go for it! If she can't kiss him now, she's ready to rush up and force his head down.
Pei Ke was still wondering what Su Xun was up to and hadn't had time to come up with an answer when a strong force suddenly gripped his wrist.
The next moment, the white figure carried him forward, and before he knew it, he was being pulled away from the wedding venue.
The sudden turn of events caused a gasp and stunned silence among those below.
Did the bride and groom run away together?
"What are these two up to? Bring them back here right now! There are still procedures to follow." Pei's mother held up a procedure sheet and directed Pei's father at the scene.
“I’m too old to keep up with their youthful vigor,” Pei’s father said, waving his hand and pretending not to see the chaos at the scene.
He also glanced at his wife.
Pei's mother glared at her, took a step, and was about to chase after her when her dress was suddenly pulled back.
"Qiqi, don't pull on Mommy."
Pei Qi, dressed in a flower girl's dress, looked exquisitely beautiful and winked at her father.
When Madam Pei noticed the subtle movements of the two people beside her, she suddenly understood something.
"Do you know something? Are you in cahoots?!"
"Your process is really rather boring," Mr. Pei muttered under his breath.
"Yes, you and Su Xun's mother have worked on so many plans these past few months, your brother and sister must be exhausted."
Pei Qi added from the side.
"You guys... are really being ridiculous." He said this, but a smile crept onto his lips.
It seems she's out of touch and doesn't understand the tastes of young people.
