The first rays of light appeared on the horizon, dispelling the deep darkness.
The windmills turned from time to time, making a rumbling sound. Tents were set up on the hilltop. Although it was still dark, there were already figures moving about, coming and going.
"Su Xun, if you sleep any longer, you'll miss the sunrise."
Song Xueying and Su Xun were sleeping in the same tent when they heard noises outside, so they quickly put on their coats.
Su Xun was awakened by the noise around him. He rubbed his slightly sore eyes, but it was still dark around him.
She had some insomnia last night, and with the noise of the windmill, she couldn't fall asleep for a long time. She finally drifted off to sleep in the early hours of the morning, and it's only five o'clock in the morning now. She's only slept for four or five hours at most.
I unzipped the tent and went outside to quickly wash up with bottled water.
Looking around, most of the figures were crowded at the edge of the mountain, below which was a bottomless cliff, and in the distance was a sliver of light about to break through, carrying a hint of gold.
She quickly tidied herself up, put the thick coat back on, picked up her camera, and walked into the crowd.
Several tens of minutes later, a large amount of golden light refracted, and a red dot in the distance slowly appeared, engulfing everything around it.
The scenery of nature is always magnificent. Some classes nearby have already organized to take group photos. The red class flags are being blown by the morning breeze and are swaying gently.
More often, people are holding their phones, searching for the best angle to capture the magnificent moment.
At this moment, she put down her camera and simply used her most primal senses to experience it: seeing with her eyes how the sun broke through layers of obstacles to rise, hearing with her ears the excited shouts of the people around her, and feeling with her skin the cold wind on the mountaintop.
The golden light from afar shone on his face, bathing his fair complexion in a soft glow, and his eyes softened.
Pei Ke had set up his tripod not far away, and when he turned his head, he saw this scene: the girl and the sunrise in front of her were in extraordinary harmony, and the whole person looked serene and beautiful.
He took out his phone from his pocket and saved the moment forever.
"Pei Ke, what brings you here? Several staff members have been looking for you, wanting to ask you how to adjust the camera angle."
A gentle female voice came from behind. Lin Nuoyu slowly walked forward and followed Pei Ke's gaze to the figure standing alone not far away.
The perfectly timed smile froze for a moment before returning to normal.
His thoughts were interrupted by the newcomer, but he calmly withdrew his gaze and looked at the newcomer.
“The view here is excellent; it can capture the entire panorama,” he replied casually. “I can’t leave here for the moment; call those people over.”
Seeing that the other person's tone was normal, he naturally ignored the unpleasantness of last night and the slight discomfort in his heart.
"Those are doing this for the first time, you'd better teach them well, I'm not as professional as you are." She ignored the distance in his tone and spoke to him as she had done countless times before.
In just twenty minutes, the sun had fully risen, and it was already bright daylight.
Su Xun took a deep breath of fresh air, the coolness entering his body through his nasal cavity, making him feel much more refreshed, and the drowsiness disappeared.
Feeling hungry, she turned around, ready to go back and get something to eat.
Then my steps faltered at the sight before me.
Pei Ke and the girl stood together, talking to each other. The girl's faint smile was impossible to ignore.
She learned the girl's name, Lin Nuoyu, from Song Xueying yesterday.
Song Xueying and Lin Nuoyu are both in the English department and happen to be in the same class. Song Xueying also told her that Lin Nuoyu has always liked Pei Ke, but the two have always kept a distance from each other.
However, those who know them are aware of this and have long considered them a couple.
She rubbed her hands, which were a little cold from the wind, and walked towards the tent.
No matter how well-matched they are, they are not together yet, so she still has a chance, she comforted herself.
I was chewing on a dry biscuit, but I just couldn't calm down.
What truly troubled her was Pei Ke's thoughts. They had been separated for so long, and his attitude during their recent meetings was unfathomable.
At first, there was a clear distance between them, but occasionally they would reveal a hint of the way they used to be when they were together.
Indeed, a man's heart is like a needle at the bottom of the sea.
Around 10 a.m., they boarded a bus and went down the mountain to a small ancient town nearby.
This was their second and final trip.
It was cold last night, and the windmill overhead kept turning, so most people didn't sleep well, and a large number of people in the car fell asleep. Su Xun and the association members sat in the same car for a short meeting.
Everyone gathered briefly in the town, left their belongings at the pre-booked guesthouses and hotels, and then went their separate ways.
The town has a history of one or two hundred years and is a typical Jiangnan water town with dense waterways flowing through it.
She was still sharing a room with Song Xueying, but Song Xueying couldn't stay still. After putting her things down, she went out with a few people she knew.
Su Xun caught a chill last night and felt groggy on the way back; he probably caught a cold.
She would go to sleep almost as soon as Song Xueying left the house.
When I woke up, it was already dark, and the whole room was pitch black.
She used her hands to support herself on the sheets and got up. The weight on her head almost made her fall. She felt sticky all over, probably from sweating under the covers.
Her mouth was dry, so she put on her shoes, took a sip of the mineral water on the table, and the cold water brought her back to consciousness.
She hadn't been sick for a long time; this time, she probably caught a chill at night and didn't get enough rest, which caused her to fall ill.
There was a sticky feeling in the air. She put her wallet in her pocket, took out her phone to check the map, and went out of the room to buy some medicine to calm down.
