Pei Ke: ...
"get out of class is over, I need to go to the restroom."
"Ah? Okay, sure."
Su Xun was sorting out the relationships between the characters, listing the important ones on a piece of paper and connecting them with events. She slowly stood up, making room for Pei Ke.
"You'll come with me," Pei Ke said calmly, his face expressionless.
"Hmm? Oh." Then she followed Pei Ke out through the back door of the classroom.
They happened to pass by Lin Nuoyu's seat. Lin Nuoyu saw the two of them leaving together, gritted her teeth, and got up to follow them.
There is a restroom on each floor of the teaching building, located at the end of the corridor.
It's exam month, and many courses have already ended. Only some minor programs need to catch up, so the entire teaching building is quite deserted.
Su Xun silently followed behind Pei Ke, her mind still replaying what she had just been thinking about, but the cold wind outside brought her back to reality.
She only knew that girls liked to go to the toilet in groups, but she didn't know that boys had this habit too.
Am I out of touch with the times?
Turning a small corner, the restroom was right in front of her, but Su Xun didn't want to use it, so she stopped.
"Go inside, I'll wait for you here." She put her hands in her pockets and stood against the wall.
However, Pei Ke also stopped, turned around, and stared at the face in front of him. Because of the wind, the tip of his nose was a little red, and he suddenly felt that it was a little cute.
“We’ve only been together a short time, and I’m already being neglected.”
"What are you saying?" She seemed to sense the hurt in his voice.
Su Xun: An old man on the subway looking at his phone??
"Your Majesty is so cruel."
Su Xun: Black guy with a question mark face?
"Are you alright? Wait, did you watch that TV series?" The male lead in that TV series was called "Your Majesty".
"Are you the only one allowed to love acting?"
Okay, Su Xun finally realized that she had impulsively put on a performance for him before class, so he was not going to be outdone and had performed it back?
"No, no, no, you're way more professional than me. Look at that expression, those movements, those lines, and that face, that posture, that performance that's completely natural. It's a shame the Oscars didn't cast you."
Pei Ke is actually quite childish. She knew this back in middle school, when she even tried to trick someone out of the White Rabbit candy that they had given her.
No matter what, he's her boyfriend, so naturally she has to pamper him.
If he wants to act, then I have to go along with him.
After listening to Su Xun's flattery, Pei Ke took a step forward, her eyes clear.
"Actually, I don't want to go to the bathroom."
"Yeah, I know, you're just feeling the urge to act and you're too embarrassed to do it in the classroom."
She knew that Pei Ke was very shy.
I actually wanted to kiss you.
He cupped Su Xun's still bewildered face in his hands and gently kissed her, a fleeting kiss that lasted only a few seconds before he restrained himself and pulled away.
"Don't get so engrossed in other things in the future. I'm very petty." He looked into Su Xun's eyes with his bright eyes and left a sentence that tickled Su Xun's ear like a light feather.
Who just said Pei Ke was thin-skinned? That person must be blind.
They lingered outside for a while, and when they returned to the classroom, the bell rang. One after the other, they casually went back to their seats, one looking intently at the podium, and the other continuing to scribble and revise on the paper.
They absolutely must not let anyone know that they went out and did something wrong.
Lin Nuoyu watched their retreating figures, her face pale.
She had been hiding in the corner, and the mirror outside the bathroom reflected their figures. Even in the dim light, she could clearly see their movements.
She had always thought Pei Ke was aloof and cold, like an ice cube that could never be warmed. She couldn't imagine what Pei Ke would be like in a relationship, whether he would be indifferent to everything and rely on the woman to take the initiative. She had even thought about what she should do if she were with Pei Ke one day.
But the scene from just a few minutes ago was still playing in her mind, telling her how tender and vivid Pei Ke could become when he fell in love with someone.
His coldness and unapproachability are just a facade. He can talk in a boring yet dramatic way, he can speak sweet words like a different person, and he can carefully hold people in the palm of his hand.
But that person wasn't her. Why was Su Xun able to so easily win over Pei Ke? Was it just because they had known each other for a long time?
Thinking of this, Lin Wanyu's usually gentle face became distorted.
God knows how jealous she was.
