Chapter 31 I Was Wrong in Trying to Improve Our Relationship
In the kitchen, Luo Zhenhua and Han Lin, grandmother and granddaughter, were busy. Occasionally, they would steal a glance at the two people interacting in the yard.
"Grandma, what do you think of Gu Yiliu?" Han Lin asked.
Luo Zhenhua nodded with a smile, "He's doing well. Yiliu was brought home by Xiaohutou once, and they even had a fight in the yard back then."
"A fight?" Han Lin raised an eyebrow, asking curiously, "Who won?"
"I think the first-rate fighter won. I saw him rubbing his chest for several days after the fight, so he definitely lost."
After listening, Han Lin exclaimed, "I really want to have a match with her."
"Alright, don't forget you're carrying a child. Don't be impulsive," said Han Lin's husband, Ren Pingye. He had no choice but to say this; if he didn't intervene, given Han Lin's temperament, a fight could easily break out.
The Han family, from the oldest to the youngest, from men to women, all enjoy sparring with their fists.
Ren Pingye sighed. It wasn't that he wouldn't let her spar, but Han Lin was only a month pregnant, and the military doctor in the army said that although Han Lin was in very good physical condition, she couldn't be careless.
Luo Zhenhua was stunned for a moment, then asked three questions in quick succession, "Linlin? The child? You?"
Han Lin nodded, "I'm still a little pregnant, so I didn't tell my grandma right away."
"It's alright, it's alright. Grandma will be happy if you want a child. It's fine if you don't tell me." Luo Zhenhua was so happy that she moved much faster. Han Lin and Ren Pingye had been married for almost 10 years, but they had been busy with their careers and were getting on in years. Finally, they were willing to have a child.
She started to shoo them away, saying, "Today is a double celebration, you two go out and talk to them, I'll do it." She kept urging them on as long as they didn't move.
Unable to refuse, Han Lin followed Ren Pingye out of the kitchen and into the yard.
In the courtyard, Gu Yiliu and Han Yi were squatting in the corner, teasing the cat.
Just as they were talking, a cat appeared in the corner and kept meowing.
Gu Yiliu understood that the cat was in heat, so he went over and teased it.
However, once you've teased the cat, it won't let you go.
"Meow!" Officer Gu patted his bottom again.
Han Yi turned to look at Gu Yiliu, "What did it say?"
Gu Yiliu asked him with a smile, "Are you sure you want to know?"
Han Yi showed her through his actions that he really wanted to know.
He reached out and took one of her hands. Then he looked at the cat lying on the ground, which turned its head to look at him.
The person and the cat stared at each other.
"Meow~" the orange cat meowed pitifully and stuck out its butt.
"Quick, pet it~" Han Yi heard the cat's pleading.
He stroked the little black and white cat's back; it was soft and covered in garlic-clove-like fur. This cat had taken very good care of itself.
But after he touched it, the calf cried even more pitifully.
"Pat! Pat!"
The black and white cat looked up at him, then raised its little bottom.
Han Yi was stunned for a moment, and the smile on his face gradually froze.
This cat is in heat.
"..."
When he stopped smiling, Gu Yiliu became happy.
She burst out laughing, laughing so hard she bent over backwards.
Han Yi slapped the cat's butt, shooing it away. He then turned to look at Gu Yiliu, his eyes flashing with danger.
"What are you laughing at?"
Seeing him raise his hand to grab her face, Gu Yiliu dodged to the side and slapped him away.
Han Yi released her hand and unexpectedly squeezed it, making Gu Yiliu's smile disappear.
His entire face was in his big hands, so smooth and soft. Han Yi couldn't help but pinch and squeeze it, and couldn't resist wanting to kiss it.
Just as he was about to come closer, Gu Yiliu grabbed his hand and pulled it away.
Han Yi twisted his wrist, and his hand was about to go up again.
This is intolerable! After Gu Yiliu pressed down on his hand, she also reached out to pinch his face. Han Yi used his other hand to block, but one time wasn't enough, so she tried again. One hand wasn't enough, so she tried both. After several attempts, Gu Yiliu finally managed to grab his chin, and of course, her face was pinched as well.
They held each other's hands tightly, neither of them letting go first.
"Han Yi...you're dead!" Gu Yiliu glared at him. "Get your filthy hands off me!"
Gu Yiliu's eyes blazed with fury. Han Yi actually touched her face with the hand that had been used to pet a cat's rear end.
Han Yi understood what she meant, but said, "My hand is clean; I didn't touch that cat."
"Let go!" Gu Yiliu breathed a sigh of relief, but he was still annoyed with him.
Han Yi let go; otherwise, the joke would have gone too far.
"Let's fight!" Gu Yiliu looked at him defiantly. She had to teach him a lesson.
Han Yi adopted a stance of being willing to fight, implying that he had no choice but to participate. "Fine!"
Han Lin and Ren Pingye, who were watching, exchanged a glance and remained silent.
Good grief, these two are even crazier than them, and they're even a couple on opposing lanes.
"Ahem!" Han Lin spoke up at the right moment to remind them.
Let's fight? Let's not fight anymore. It's almost time to eat.
Gu Yiliu turned around and found Han Lin and Han Yi's brother-in-law standing to the side, watching for an unknown amount of time.
She paused for a moment, withdrew her fighting stance, calmly straightened her clothes, and said to Han Yi, "Let's fight after we finish eating. I'll give you three moves."
Han Yi nodded.
"..."
Han Lin found an opportunity and quietly asked her younger brother, "Do you guys fight often?"
Han Yi glanced at his sister and corrected her, "This is called enhancing relationships and incidentally exchanging martial arts skills."
"You seem to be enjoying this?"
Han Yi glanced at his brother-in-law, too lazy to talk to his sister, and asked a question he already knew the answer to.
He asked her if there was anything else, and Han Lin felt looked down upon by him. She glanced at Gu Yiliu and said, "Let's call Yiliu over to play cards."
Han Yi walked over to Gu Yiliu's side.
She came squatting in the corner with a cup of tea. Looking back, Gu Yiliu was watching the ants. When the ants saw her coming with the tea, they scurried away as fast as they could. Of course, their perception of scurrying away was only accurate.
My sister said we should play cards together.
Gu Yiliu took a sip of tea. "Alright, let's fight."
"Top-notch, we play cards for money, one dollar a game."
Gu Yiliu glanced at Han Yi, "Is your luck with cards really bad?"
"Hahahaha," Han Lin laughed out loud, clapping her hands happily. "That's right, his luck with cards is terrible. No matter how many times he wins, he always loses in the end. He's never won more than a few times in his life."
Gu Yiliu was eager to try, but she had no money, she honestly admitted.
"I have no money."
"It's okay, if you win, it's yours; if you lose, it's mine. If my sister loses, it's my brother-in-law's; if she wins, it's hers."
Gu Yiliu glanced at the couple opposite him and said, "Alright, let's go."
The four men sat together playing cards.
Luo Zhenhua occasionally peeks out from the kitchen and seems quite happy.
She noticed that her grandson's luck at cards was consistently poor, starting strong but ending weakly, even though Gu Yiliu often let him win.
Gu Yiliu witnessed firsthand just how bad Han Yi's luck was at cards. She was sitting to his left, and they were practically exchanging hands with their cards face up, yet he still managed to lose.
She watched as he lost all the money he had earned and even incurred significant losses.
As a result, her luck turned bad, and she started losing the money she had won.
She lost all confidence and called out to the system, "DianDian, is Han Yi's luck with cards really that bad?"
Dian Dian turned to look at Han Yi and carefully assessed the situation. "He's not a bad guy, but I just can't win."
"..." I understand now, my luck with the cards was indeed terrible.
Gu Yiliu glanced at Han Yi and silently moved aside.
Han Yi, upon seeing her actions: "..."
The biggest winner of the night was Han Lin, who won a lot of money from Han Yi. "Thank you, thank you. On behalf of my child, I would like to thank his uncle and future aunt for their red envelopes in advance."
Han Yi looked at her stomach with surprise and delight. Gu Yiliu also glanced at her stomach.
The card game stopped, and the food was ready. The five of them ate their meal together in a cheerful atmosphere.
The after-dinner activity was for Gu Yiliu and Han Yi to spar. Han Lin urged them to start fighting.
Gu Yiliu glanced at Luo Zhenhua. The latter even sat down to the side with melon seeds and tea, waiting.
"..."
In the end, Gu Yiliu knocked Han Yi down, stepping on his face. Han Yi was practically naked, his short-sleeved shirt torn open by Gu Yiliu with one hand.
This move astonished everyone.
Gu Yiliu was about to stop, but Han Lin stopped him, "Wait! Wait!"
Han Lin patted her husband beside her, "Go get a camera quickly. We have to capture this important moment."
"Alright!" Ren Pingye smiled and glanced at Gu Yiliu, admiring her skills. He felt that he might not necessarily come out on top if he fought her.
"..."
"..."
So, the scene of Gu Yiliu stepping on Han Yi's face was filmed and later sent to Han's parents.
After taking the photos, Gu Yiliu still reached out to help Han Yi up, glancing guiltily at the scratches on his chest.
Han Yi looked down and saw three deep scratches, as if they had been cut open with a knife and scratched by her. They were bleeding, and she had scratched them with her bare hands. She was practically made of steel.
Han Yi was somewhat relieved that she hadn't choked him earlier.
He didn't miss her guilty conscience and went along with it, saying, "Ouch, that hurts. Can you put some medicine on me?"
"OK."
Half an hour later, Han Yi, freshened up, lay on a recliner and watched Gu Yiliu apply medicine to his wounds.
"hiss!"
"Ouch, be gentle."
Hearing the sounds from the courtyard, Han Lin couldn't bear to look at his grimacing face. She ran back to her room. Han Yi didn't seem to be in pain at all; instead, he looked smug. Now, how could she not know that he was doing it on purpose?
Gu Yiliu glanced at him, then pressed the cotton swab firmly against his skin. "Does it hurt that much?"
Han Yi frowned and gave a wronged "hmm".
Gu Yiliu stopped exerting force and asked him again, "How about this?"
"It hurts! Blow on it and it won't hurt anymore." He looked at her expectantly.
"..."
Gu Yiliu poured disinfectant alcohol directly onto his wound.
"Hiss!"
This time, the cry of pain carried a more genuine emotion. Gu Yiliu's eyes lit up with a smile. "Does it hurt this time?"
"pain."
Gu Yiliu wiped away the alcohol that had dripped onto his abdomen and carefully applied the medicine.
Apply medicine to the bleeding wounds, and also to the bruises she made, and rub them to break up the bruises.
Gu Yiliu told him to wipe it himself.
"Can't you help me?" Han Yi asked, wanting her help.
Gu Yiliu looked at him with a half-smile, "Are you sure?"
Han Yi shuddered. He felt that letting her help him apply the ointment wouldn't be pleasant, but it was very tempting.
He hummed in agreement.
Gu Yiliu nodded, "Sure, I'll wipe it for you."
She thought to herself, "Next time I'll hit the spot where there won't be a bruise, and hit it hard!"
Ten minutes later, Han Yi regretted it.
Gu Yiliu's hand seemed to carry an electric current, causing him to tremble wherever it touched. He tried to get up, but Gu Yiliu pressed him down again.
"Don't move!"
Han Yi swallowed hard, glanced at the uncontrollable area, and said, "I was wrong, it's top-notch."
"There's still medicine on my back, and three bruises on my shoulders and back."
Gu Yiliu's voice was calm, but Han Yi felt as if a light veil was wrapped around his throat, tightening it.
When he noticed Gu Yiliu walking up behind him and placing his hand on his shoulder, he instantly tensed up, his muscles becoming more defined, and the bluish veins on his arm becoming faintly visible.
