Chapter 72 Pursuit Negotiation (Revised)
The woman was stunned, and a distinct stiffness appeared on her face.
She quickly covered it up and begged Gu Yiliu to help her untie the ropes.
Gu Yiliu didn't move, but asked her, "How did you get on this ship?"
silence.
So long that the other man in the room woke up. When he saw Gu Yiliu, his pupils contracted, and he even shrank back.
He mistakenly thought that Gu Yiliu was there to torment them.
No one on this ship should be underestimated.
Gu Yiliu: "You don't have to say anything, I'm leaving."
After saying that, Gu Yiliu turned and left.
Zhuang Licheng panicked and hurriedly called out, "Wait!"
"I'll talk!"
Zhuang Licheng looked down at her bare legs, covered in layers of marks and sores. She spoke softly, "My name is Zhuang Licheng." After saying that, she glanced at Gu Yiliu, who also gave his surname. Zhuang Licheng continued, "I wasn't abducted. I boarded the ship voluntarily."
Gu Yiliu had a guess, and she hummed in agreement.
“I know Dao Ruiliang. Later, my girlfriend and I wanted to get off the ship, but Dao Ruiliang and his gang wouldn’t let us. So they locked me here and humiliated and tortured me from time to time.”
Gu Yiliu said "Oh," and pointed at the man, "What about him?"
Zhuang Licheng glanced at the man. "His name is Li Shaokun. He's my boyfriend. We wanted to get off the ship together, but we ended up being tied up here and tortured together."
After speaking, Zhuang Licheng carefully observed Gu Yiliu, not missing a single expression on his face.
"Is he someone you met later?" Gu Yiliu asked.
Zhuang Licheng paused, surprised by Gu Yiliu's keen insight.
She nodded.
Gu Yiliu: "You're not being honest."
Zhuang Licheng's heart skipped a beat, but she pretended not to hear it.
"I'll only ask you once: Did you participate in human trafficking?" Gu Yiliu's eyes were dark, as if he could see through Zhuang Licheng and understand her heart.
Zhuang Licheng lowered her eyes, avoiding eye contact, and slowly shook her head.
Gu Yiliu stood quietly at the door, lost in thought. Zhuang Licheng looked up, wanting to say something. She knew Gu Yiliu didn't trust her, so she wanted to say something to increase his trust in her.
But at this moment, Gu Yiliu had already walked straight over, and Zhuang Licheng was at a loss for words.
After watching Gu Yiliu untie her ropes, she stepped aside.
She stretched her arms and legs, then found some clothes to put on before walking up to Li Shaokun and untying him.
Li Shaokun was more seriously injured than her, and she even helped him put on his clothes. His leg had been broken by that beast Dao Ruiliang and hadn't been healed yet. Zhuang Licheng looked at his twisted and deformed leg, tore off a piece of clothing, and then found a piece of wood.
“His leg injury has partially healed, but his leg is misaligned and needs to be broken again to be reattached. If you reattach it like this now, he will be crippled for the rest of his life.”
Gu Yilu's voice made Zhuang Licheng pause, "How did you figure that out?"
"I could tell from my eyes," Gu Yiliu shrugged. "Do you need any tools? I can lend you some."
Zhuang Licheng held a glimmer of hope. "What tools?"
Gu Yiliu took out a hammer, the kind used for hammering nails, and said, "Use this."
Zhuang Licheng's hand trembled.
"Ouch! That hurts!"
Li Shaokun's cry of pain startled Zhuang Licheng. "Excuse me, where did I press?"
Li Shaokun shook his head, his face pale with exhaustion. "What she said is true. My wound is very itchy, and it's healing. It's broken and then reattached."
Zhuang Licheng couldn't take the hammer that Gu Yiliu handed her.
Gu Yiliu put away the hammer, ungrateful, and said, "Let's leave it at that for now and go."
Zhuang Licheng gave a soft "hmm" and helped Li Shaokun follow behind Gu Yiliu.
Gu Yiliu glanced at Han Yi, "Let's go, let's go up and take a look."
"Comrade Gu, may my partner and I stay here?"
Gu Yiliu turned around and sneered, "No."
Left with no other option, Zhuang Licheng helped the limping Li Shaokun and Gu Yiliu onto the deck.
The gunfire had stopped, and only the sound of the sea breeze could be heard.
“We’ve already won,” came Dian Dian’s voice. “We’ve arrested a lot of people and rescued a lot of people. I’ve already notified the fisheries administration and coast guard to come and help.”
Gu Yiliu was taken aback. "How were you notified?"
DianDian did not respond.
Gu Yiliu wasn't in a hurry for an answer. She went up to the deck.
Xiao Qiang saw her, breathed a sigh of relief, and smiled. "Did you find anything?"
Gu Yiliu nodded. She also saw the people who were tied up and thrown on the deck. There were many of them, so they must have been captured in one fell swoop.
There were also some victims huddled together, but compared to the bound Dao family crew members, these people, though their faces were pale, were agitated.
Gu Yiliu also saw Yu Ming standing in front of a girl and saying something; it seemed that this was his sister.
It's good that we found him. Gu Yiliu felt quite happy looking at Yu Ming's worthless smile.
Gu Yiliu withdrew his gaze and answered Xiao Qiang, "Two people, six dolphins. Clean up the scene as soon as possible and leave. The dolphins need to be released back into the sea as soon as possible."
She sounded very happy. Regardless of Zhuang Licheng and the other person's background or what story they were hiding, the matter had been resolved satisfactorily.
"You all leave first. Dao Ruiliang and his three trusted men have gone into hiding." Xiao Qiang shook his head slightly.
Gu Yiliu looked at the bound group in astonishment. "What?"
Xiao Qiang nodded, "The large-scale crackdown arrested everyone they saw, but when the final headcount was taken, there were 116 people, but the four most important people were missing."
"I plan to move these people to our ship first, empty it, and then search the ship. We're sure we'll find where they're hiding."
Gu Yiliu felt a chill run down his spine as he thought of something. "What if they take advantage of the chaos to get onto our ship? Have you thought about that?"
Xiao Qiang's expression froze after being reminded by her words; they set off alarm bells in his mind.
He looked at their boat; there was no one there, but the silence seemed like the prelude to a storm.
Xiao Qiang felt a chill run down his spine. He called someone to go with him to their ship to check the situation, while the rest of the men guarded the more than 100 people.
Gu Yiliu was also anxious. They didn't have as much experience at sea as Dao Ge, so Dao Ge and his men wanted to hide. There were many hidden mechanisms and secret rooms on the ship, and she and Xiao Qiang might not be able to find them.
"Dian Dian, can you help me find out where Dao Ruiliang is hiding?"
Quiet, without a sound.
"Dian Dian?"
Gu Yiliu hurriedly pulled up the system panel, only to find that DianDian was showing an upgrade in progress.
She gasped, "..."
Dian Dian probably couldn't suppress the urge to level up. It would have told her if it was going to level up. After figuring this out, Gu Yiliu didn't blame it for not telling her beforehand; she calmed herself down.
She called out to Xiao Qiang, "Captain Xiao, wait a minute."
When Xiao Qiang turned around, he heard Gu Yiliu say, "I suggest we knock out the more than one hundred crew members of the Dao family first, in case they come to the aid of Brother Dao and his men."
After a moment's thought, Xiao Qiang decided it was feasible and gestured to his teammates, "Okay, knock them out."
Before long, a large number of people were lying on the deck.
Gu Yiliu turned to look at Zhuang Licheng and Li Shaokun, walked closer to them, and raised his hand to strike.
Terrified, Zhuang Licheng screamed, her beautiful face contorted with fear. "Comrade Gu, wait a minute! We are the victims, you shouldn't have knocked us unconscious!"
Her scream drew the attention of many people to her.
Among them were victims who had been harmed by her and Li Shaokun. "Officer Gu, don't listen to her. They're the ones who tricked me onto the boat. They've been watching me for a long time, and they have informants on the shore too."
A girl screamed, and Gu Yiliu realized it was Yu Ming's sister.
"And me, I was also tricked by them. They said there were high-paying jobs, but they ended up taking me on a ship!"
"And me..."
After listening to a series of painful self-narrations, it was discovered that most of them had been tricked onto the ship by these two people.
Gu Yiliu looked at the two with a cold smile, raised his hand and chopped them down, their bodies slumped to the ground.
Gu Yiliu also heard a cracking sound from Li Shaokun's foot. She clicked her tongue, thinking that he got off easy, having broken his leg again without even realizing it.
"Xiao Wang, tie these two up too." After watching the whole thing, Xiao Qiang quickly arranged the follow-up work.
"First-rate, you stay here and watch over them. I'll have someone search the Dao family's ship..."
Before Xiao Qiang could speak, Gu Yiliu's expression suddenly changed, and he turned and ran into the cabin, leaving only the words, "I'll search this ship!" in the wind.
"Listen to her," Han Yi said and immediately followed.
Gu Yiliu went straight to the water storage room. In the cabin corridor, she could hear the mournful cries of the white dolphins from afar.
"Eee ...
It belongs to Lu Tingting.
"Eee-ooh-ooh!" Officer Gu, help! Someone's trying to kill a dolphin!
It was Runxue's voice.
Gu Yiliu ran off, leaving only a blur.
As she got closer, she heard a man complaining from inside, "What a nuisance! We can't take these dolphins with us, and if they keep yelling, they'll all die!"
Another voice shouted angrily, "Why do you care about those beasts? Come and help! If I can't leave, I'll take you down with me!"
Gu Yiliu ran quickly, without even panting, and kicked open the door.
The entire door flew off.
Startled, the people inside immediately raised their guns and shouted, "Who are you?!"
"I'm your great-aunt!" Gu Yiliu swiftly approached the man who had raised the question and snatched the gun from his hand.
He just shot it down.
In the blink of an eye, Gu Yiliu was in front of Liu Hua. Before Liu Hua could even react, he was knocked unconscious.
Gu Yiliu kicked Liu Hua toward Dao Ruiliang. Of the three people here, only the middle-aged man in front of her looked like the one in charge. Faced with her kicking the unconscious person in front of him, he remained unmoved, and Gu Yiliu felt that he was Dao Ruiliang.
Dao Ruiliang had already raised his gun when Liu Hua smashed at his feet, and the skinny man next to him also pointed his gun at Gu Yiliu.
Dao Ruiliang looked at the beautiful girl in front of him, his eyes revealing his admiration for her kung fu. "Your kung fu is not bad, but," he changed the subject, his face also lengthening, "I have no grudge against you, so why did you come to hijack my ship? You ruined my plans!"
"ah!"
"Spare me!"
A scream came from inside the room. Gu Yiliu knew that Han Yi was the one hitting someone.
“This isn’t hijacking, it’s just routine work, a check,” she said, looking at Dao Ruiliang again. “Just because you’re involved in human trafficking and illegal fishing, I’m determined to ruin your plans!”
Dao Ruiliang sneered, "What evidence do you have?"
He gave the skinny guy next to him a look, and the skinny guy nodded in response.
Seeing the subtle interaction between the two, Gu Yiliu bluntly asked, "Did you tell him to wait for the right moment and then shoot me?"
Dao Ruiliang: "You're very smart. What's your name?"
"Gu Yiliu".
Dao Ruiliang gave a smile, as if trying to appear more approachable, but it seemed to have the opposite effect; the smile actually looked rather sinister.
When Gu Yiliu reminded him that his smile was sinister, the smile on his face vanished instantly.
With a cold face, he gave them two choices: "If you let us go this time, how about I give you 30% of the money I earn in the future?"
Upon hearing this news, the skinny man glanced at Dao Ruiliang in surprise.
Gu Yiliu noticed, "Thirty percent is a lot?"
Dao Ruiliang: "Of course there are many. Besides me, you're the one who earns the most."
Gu Yiliu refused outright, "Is this a negotiation? Then I don't want it. What's the other option?"
"You'll die here." Dao Ruiliang's eyes were icy. "All I have to do is pull the trigger, and the bullet will fly."
Gu Yiliu rummaged through his clothes and found a small knife. "Do you think your bullet is faster, or my knife?"
"If I block your gun with my knife, won't the bullet hit you?"
Dao Ruiliang sensed her provocation and was so angry that his face turned red.
"Also, I'd really like to know where you sold all those people? Did you have an upline? And who were your downlines?"

Author's Note: [Pity] Pre-order request: "Deeply Bound to a Historical Fiction Master" (Also known as: "The Scheming Father and Daughter in a Historical Fiction [1960s]")
When Jiang Yulu opened her eyes, she found herself and her father transported to the 1960s.
The story begins in hell mode: she marries a female military officer after her father's marriage, but the officer's two sons dislike her and are determined to drive her and her father away.
The wealthy stepmother has both money and power, and neither the father nor the daughter wants to give her up.
The wealthy stepmother cares about the father but completely disregards her stepdaughter, even declaring, "You can only choose one: your wife or your daughter!"
Jiang Yulu gritted her teeth and, in order to avoid being kicked out and to further solidify her relationship with her father, conspired with her father to scheme against Zou Jingpu, the son of her wealthy stepmother's direct superior and a notorious figure in the military.
A man and a woman were found lying alone in bed. Faced with the wrath of her wealthy stepmother, Jiang Yulu clung tightly to the man's back, her doe-like eyes filled with fear and grievance.
Zou Jingpu, who held a high position and was indifferent to women, never expected that he would end up being bitten by the rabbit right next to him.
He was furious, convinced she was a scheming woman. The organization instructed him to acknowledge Jiang Yulu as his girlfriend, and he did.
Zou Jingpu made up his mind not to ask any more questions beyond the necessary greetings.
But Jiang Yulu and what she did for him were constantly mentioned in his ears.
Winter is coming, so I knitted him a sweater by hand and brought it to him.
He said he wanted to eat the snacks he ate when he was a child, so she made them for him by hand and delivered them to his desk the next day.
She took care of his mother day and night when she was sick, and even his picky mother praised her a thousand times.
And so on... Sometimes Zou Jingpu thought that if she could always be like this, he would treat her better.
After his opinion of her changed, he thought of taking her to the movies, but unexpectedly stumbled upon her having a private conversation with her father.
She asked, "Dad, did you bring it up? Does your rich stepmother want to have a child with you?"
"...I didn't mention it. If I had, she would probably have wanted a divorce, and your stepmother probably wouldn't have wanted you either."
"So, how are things going between you and Jingpu?"
She said, "Don't even mention it, it's so difficult."
“Your stepmother said she wanted the scarf I knitted. I’ll knit an extra one and give it to her in your name, how about that?”
"OK."
Zou Jingpu's face turned as black as ink. It turned out that everything she had done for him was done by her father. How ridiculous that he had always thought it was she who had done it for him.
He watched coldly as she tried to please him. Soon, the father and daughter's scheme was exposed, and he and she were quickly cut ties. He thought she would come to him crying and begging. He thought that if she cried, he wouldn't be angry with her. Who would have thought that she would turn around and start contacting other people?
"Jiang Yulu, am I dead?" he sneered.
