Chapter 16 You seem to like him quite a bit. ...
Tears still clung to Jiang Luo's eyelashes, his eyes were wet. Gu Shiyue frowned slightly when he saw the bloodstains on Jiang Luo's nose.
"Is there iodine in the dormitory?" Gu Shiyue asked him.
Jiang Luo shook her head.
There was definitely no one in the school clinic at this hour, so Gu Shiyue took out his phone and ordered takeout from a pharmacy, buying some disinfectant supplies.
Jiang Luo saw Gu Shiyue take out his phone from his pocket, unlock it, quickly tap a few times on the screen, and then look up and say, "Go back and disinfect."
"Huh?" Jiang Luo was taken aback.
"I've bought the iodine solution; I'll deliver it to the school gate in a bit."
Gu Shiyue's efficiency was incredible; Jiang Luo hadn't expected him to have bought disinfectant in the short time it took him to swipe his phone. Jiang Luo was still sitting there, stunned, when Gu Shiyue raised an eyebrow and asked, "Didn't you hear what I said?"
Jiang Luo quickly stood up: "I heard you."
Gu Shiyue hummed in agreement: "Go to the school gate to get the medicine, the south gate."
"Okay, okay." Jiang Luo turned around and picked up the racket and schoolbag from the chair.
Cheng Jiashu looked somewhat bewildered, glancing at Jiang Luo and then at Gu Shiyue. He saw Jiang Luo pick up her bag, stand up, and say to him, "I'll go with you."
"No need, we'll be one less person if you leave. It's okay, you keep fighting, don't worry about me, I'll go back and put on some medicine."
"You really don't need me to come with you?"
Jiang Luo laughed: "I'm not hurt in the arm or leg, why would I need you to come with me?"
Cheng Jiashu glanced at his nose bridge: "Does your nose bridge hurt? Are you sure you didn't break any bones?"
Jiang Luo nodded: "I'm sure. If a badminton shuttlecock could break my nose, I'd be too fragile."
"Fine, if you don't want me to come with you, then forget it," Cheng Jiashu said. "Just text me when you get to your dorm."
"good."
Jiang Luo picked up her backpack and walked up to Gu Shiyue: "Senior, you..."
"Let's go." Gu Shiyue turned around.
Jiang Luo was taken aback: "You...you're coming with me?"
Gu Shiyue didn't turn around and continued walking forward, saying, "Mm."
"You're not playing ball anymore?" Jiang Luo jogged to catch up with him.
"I've had enough." Gu Shiyue didn't come here to play ball today. Xiang Qin had asked him to come, and he also had to deliver a pendant. The two things happened at the same time, and playing ball was just a side thing.
"Thank you, senior." Jiang Luo smiled, but the smile aggravated the wound on the bridge of his nose, causing him to hiss in pain.
Gu Shiyue turned to look at him. Jiang Luo had just finished hissing and was now looking at him with a smiling face. His nose was red and fine beads of blood were oozing from his wound.
"You're still in the mood to laugh," Gu Shiyue said.
"Actually, I want to cry right now," Jiang Luo said.
Gu Shiyue raised an eyebrow.
"I'm a little worried about being disfigured; I still need to make a living based on my looks."
Gu Shiyue smiled almost imperceptibly.
Jiang Luo always felt a sense of accomplishment for being able to make Senior Gu laugh. He looked at Gu Shiyue, smiled, and said, "You look good when you smile, Senior."
Gu Shiyue turned his head and continued walking forward: "Is that so? Then you won't look good if you don't smile."
"That's not what I meant at all," Jiang Luo said with a smile. "You look good whether you smile or not."
As they were talking, Gu Shiyue's phone rang; it was Xiang Qin calling.
"Hello?"
"Where are you going with your junior?" Xiang Qin asked. "Aren't you going to play ball?"
"I'm not playing anymore."
Xiang Qin was silent for a few seconds, then chuckled and asked, "What do you mean?"
"What do you mean?"
"Hey, what's the meaning of your relationship with junior Jiang Luo?" Xiang Qin smiled. "When did you become so close to our junior?"
Xiang Qin wouldn't have found it strange if it were anyone else, but this was Gu Shiyue, who wasn't the kind of person who could be easily approached.
Do I need to report to you who I get close to?
"Is that what I meant?" Xiang Qin chuckled. "I just feel... you seem to like him quite a bit."
Gu Shiyue did not deny it: "I do like him, so what?"
Xiang Qin laughed. Now that Gu Shiyue said that, it wasn't surprising anymore: "That's true, our junior Jiang Luo is indeed quite popular."
"Go play your game," Gu Shiyue said. "I'm hanging up."
Jiang Luo walked out of the gymnasium with Gu Shiyue. He noticed that the crowd around the basketball court had thinned out, and small groups of girls were walking towards them. They were probably female fans who had come to watch Gu Shiyue play basketball, and they dispersed as soon as Gu Shiyue left.
Gu Shiyue walked very fast the whole way. He was tall and had long legs, and Jiang Luo couldn't keep up with him unless she quickened her pace. The delivery point Gu Shiyue filled in was the school gate closest to the gymnasium. The food arrived quickly; the deliveryman called before they even reached the gate.
Gu Shiyue answered the phone: "Hello?"
The school gatekeeper doesn't allow students to leave their takeout orders, so delivery drivers have to wait for him to come and pick them up.
"Two minutes," Gu Shiyue said to the deliveryman on the other end of the phone.
Jiang Luozhen couldn't keep up with Gu Shiyue anymore. Gu Shiyue walked very fast, and he could only jog with his schoolbag on his back.
Gu Shiyue went out of the school gate to get the medicine, and turned around to see Jiang Luo breathing heavily, though not very noticeably.
"Why are you running?" Gu Shiyue said.
"I can't keep up with you even if you don't run. Your legs are so long, you walk like you're flying."
Gu Shiyue walked over and pulled out a bag of alcohol wipes from the medicine bag: "Clean the wound first."
Jiang Luo was stunned for a moment: "Now...?"
Gu Shiyue raised an eyebrow: "How long will it take you to walk back? Are you planning to wait until you get back to your dorm to disinfect?"
Their school is very big; it would take Jiang Luo at least twenty minutes to walk back to his dormitory.
"Oh, okay." Jiang Luo took the wet wipe from his hand, glanced at it, and found that it contained alcohol. She looked up at him expectantly, "Can we skip this step, senior? The alcohol hurts a bit."
"Change the wet wipes." Gu Shiyue handed him the medicine bag directly.
Jiang Luo took the medicine bag and saw that Gu Shiyue had not only bought iodine, but also alcohol, wet wipes, bandages, and sterile dressings. Jiang Luo casually put his racket on the ground, took a wet wipe, and gently pressed it against the bridge of his nose. He couldn't see his wound, so he was wiping it by feel. The bloodstains had already dried, and Jiang Luo's gentle rubbing wasn't enough to clean them. He was about to use iodine to disinfect them and even wanted Gu Shiyue to use his phone's front camera as a mirror to show him his reflection.
"Senior, could you use your phone's front camera to take a picture of my face?"
Gu Shiyue didn't take out his phone, he just said, "Give me the iodine."
Jiang Luo was taken aback: "Huh?"
Gu Shiyue took the iodine directly from his hand, took a step closer, and they were under the streetlights. The light fell from above, and the wound on Jiang Luo's nose was clearly visible.
Gu Shiyue took out another clean wet wipe, moved closer, and pressed it against Jiang Luo's wound. Jiang Luo subconsciously closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
"Does it hurt?" Gu Shiyue asked.
Jiang Luo opened her eyes: "It doesn't hurt."
He opened his eyes, his face slightly tilted back, his gaze meeting Gu Shiyue's. Gu Shiyue lowered his eyes, meeting his gaze. Jiang Luo's pupils were very light, a distinct amber color under the light. His eyelashes were long, so their trembling was also very noticeable.
Gu Shiyue gently wiped the blood from his nose: "It doesn't hurt, your eyelashes are trembling like this."
Jiang Luo chuckled: "This is just a conditioned reflex. Don't your eyelashes tremble when you close your eyes?"
"It doesn't shake."
"Really?" Jiang Luo laughed out loud. "Then close your eyes and let me see."
"Don't close it."
Jiang Luo looked up and smiled, while Gu Shiyue silently wiped his wounds.
Gu Shiyue stared at the wound, and Jiang Luo stared at Gu Shiyue.
Gu Shiyue glanced upwards, and their eyes met.
"Senior, is my wound deep?" Jiang Luo asked him.
"It's alright." Gu Shiyue's gaze fell back down.
Although Jiang Luo wasn't vain, he still cared a lot about his image. What he just said was true; he was genuinely worried that he would be disfigured.
"Do you think I might get disfigured, senior?"
Gu Shiyue said, "I don't know."
Jiang Luo wrinkled her nose slightly, looking genuinely troubled.
"Afraid of being disfigured?" Gu Shiyue asked.
"I'm scared." Jiang Luo blinked.
"I didn't realize that," Gu Shiyue said. "You seem pretty indifferent."
"No, I care a lot. I'm very concerned about my image."
Jiang Luo laughed after speaking, catching a faint smile in Gu Shiyue's eyes. After wiping away the bloodstains, Gu Shiyue used a cotton swab to apply iodine to disinfect the area. The iodine wasn't too irritating; Jiang Luo only felt a slight pain.
Gu Shiyue was very close to him, and he could smell the faint fragrance on Gu Shiyue. Even though he had just finished playing basketball, Gu Shiyue didn't smell of sweat at all; he still smelled nice.
The dim light cast a soft golden edge on Gu Shiyue's jet-black hair, making him appear gentle.
