Chapter 32 Damn

"The patient had a secondary bacterial upper respiratory tract infection, triggered by a viral cold. Combined with the high fever and previous stress and fatigue, they suddenly fainted. Don't worry, with proper treatment in the hospital, you should recover in one to two weeks."

"Dr. Ma, I'll have to trouble you to take good care of my wife during this period of time." It was Lu Yin's voice.

"Of course I should, Mr. Lu, you're too polite."

"I'll have someone watch over here. If Doctor Ma is busy, please feel free to do as you please."

"Oh, okay, I'll go back first. If there is anything, please call me in time."

Doctor Ma answered as the sound of receding footsteps was heard.

Qi Nuan had actually been awake for a while, but she was still pretending to be unconscious and didn't dare to open her eyes.

After secretly hearing the conversation between the doctor and Lu Yin, she felt relieved. Fortunately, it was just a minor problem.

"Well, there's one more thing."

Doctor Ma, who was walking away, spoke again: "It's a good thing that Mr. Lu and his wife are deeply in love, but her health is not good right now. It's better to take it slow when doing anything strenuous or tiring."

After a pause of two or three seconds, Lu Yin smiled and said to the guest, "I've made a note of that. Doctor Ma, please."

This time, there was the sound of a door closing, and the ward returned to silence.

Qi Nuan tried her best not to let her embarrassment and shyness show on her face, and tried to breathe slowly and pretend to be asleep.

She could even feel the burning gaze cast upon her face.

Not long after, she heard Lu Yin's self-deprecating laughter.

"Damn it."

A strange curse came out of Lu Yin's mouth, and Qi Nuan wanted to open her eyes to see his expression.

But her desire to survive made her hold back. Now was definitely not a good time to open her eyes and wake up.

After pretending like this, she actually fell asleep again.

When he woke up and opened his eyes again, Qi Nuan felt much better. Except for the back of his left hand where he was receiving an IV drip, there was no other part of his body that felt particularly uncomfortable.

Lu Yin was not seen in the ward.

She stared at the infusion bottle above her head and listened to the report from Special Assistant Zhao who stayed behind.

"It's a complication from the viral flu. Your boss wants you to be treated here until you're fully recovered before you're discharged. Don't worry about work. I've already requested long-term sick leave for you."

After all, it was a viral flu, and Qi Nuan really wanted to ask Lu Yin if he had caught the cold from her.

But when she thought of his large build and those strong muscles, she felt that she was worrying too much.

Since he is not here, he probably goes to work as usual.

Seeing her struggling to sit up, Special Assistant Zhao immediately stepped forward to help her press the lifting button of the hospital bed. He then considerately handed her a glass of water.

After taking a few sips of hot water of "appropriate temperature" to moisten his throat, Qi Nuan sighed in his heart: One must have this kind of vision to be a special assistant to the big boss.

"If there's anything else you need, please let me know, ma'am."

Qi Nuan was a little uncomfortable with him calling her "Madam".

She waved her hand: "No need, there is a difference between men and women, it's not convenient, Special Assistant Zhao, you should go back and rest."

I don’t know if it was Lu Yin’s order, but Special Assistant Zhao did not go out. Instead, he walked away and stood guard near the ward door.

Qi Nuan felt very uncomfortable being guarded by a stranger and wanted to find something to do to pass the time.

After looking around, she used her right hand, which was not holding the needle, to take the phone from the bedside table on the same side.

Turning on the screen, she first checked the date and time.

It was already past seven o'clock on Saturday night, and she had slept for so long.

After unlocking the phone and entering the desktop, Qi Nuan immediately saw the notifications of missed calls and unread messages.

There were three numbers on the phone, two of which showed the contact names, namely sister Qi Meng and nephew Qi Zhangkai, and the other was a restricted number, so it was impossible to tell who it belonged to.

Qi Nuan thought about it, ended the call first, then clicked on the message and saw that the unread messages were from Qi Meng and her colleague Hao Lili.

Out of habit, I looked at Qi Meng's message first. She sent five messages in a row, all asking about her sister's illness and why she didn't answer the phone.

Qi Nuan was just wondering whether to call her back when Special Assistant Zhao spoke again from a distance, "While Madam was in a coma, your sister called me. I was afraid she would come and cause trouble, so I said you were on vacation at the villa with your boss and didn't have your phone with you."

Although Qi Nuan didn't like the special assistant standing there, the way he handled the situation was very much to her liking. She also thought that her carefree sister wouldn't be able to help much and might even cause more trouble.

"Okay, thank you."

After thanking him, Qi Nuan paused, then shook the phone and asked, "Assistant Zhao, do you know about my nephew's situation? He also called me."

"The boss later had a video call with him personally. I'm not sure about the specifics. You can ask the boss directly later."

"Oh, okay."

Qi Nuan withdrew her gaze and stopped talking to the "responsible" special assistant. Instead, she clicked on Hao Lili's message.

The first one: Nuannuan, look, look, there is new information!

Followed by a link URL.

Second one: Oops, I forgot you were sick. Just have a good rest and ignore me.

The third post was posted this afternoon: "According to reliable sources, the second-floor demon girl caught the flu a few days ago and infected quite a few people. Did she also work with you? Remember to ask her for a gift when you return."

Qi Nuan was speechless. Her sister Lili was a nice person, but she was very talkative and she really didn't like the beauty from the second department.

Shaking her head helplessly, she decided not to reply, so as not to attract more gossip.
