Qi Nuan took a moment to calm down and opened her eyes again, only to find that a partition had risen in front of the rear seat where she was lying. With his action, it quickly lowered and retracted under the front seat.
Her father taught her to be grateful for other people's kindness since she was young.
"Thank you." Qi Nuan thanked the person in front of him and sat up by holding the back of the chair.
After soothing her numb hands and feet, she got out of the car with Special Assistant Zhao.
After turning off the car lights, the surroundings immediately became pitch black.
Winter has arrived and the surrounding tree trunks are all bare. There is a kind of creepy atmosphere in the darkness.
"Where is this?"
Qi Nuan asked the question with caution, and stepped on the road under his feet twice. He found that the road surface seemed to have not been developed or constructed, and it was all dry soil blocks that broke into pieces when stepped on.
Special Assistant Zhao didn't answer her, but started moving towards the front of the car: "This way, we still have to go a little further."
Qi Nuan glanced at the endless darkness behind him and hurriedly chased after him.
No wonder you can't continue driving up this road.
The boulevard ahead is very narrow and has no lighting.
Just when Qi Nuan was about to use her cell phone as a flashlight, she glanced at the screen and found that there was no signal at all.
There are no more chirping insects or birds in the winter forest, but there is a cold wind blowing through, howling and roaring, filling the atmosphere.
Special Assistant Zhao was leading the way in front, holding a flashlight.
Qi Nuan was glad that she wore casual sneakers for comfort today. She occasionally jogged and followed him carefully not far behind. Her mind unconsciously recalled a similar scene when her brother took her up the mountain late at night to build up her courage when she was a child.
After walking for an unknown distance, Qi Nuan's forehead was covered with sweat and warmth was rising under his cashmere coat when Special Assistant Zhao finally stopped.
He turned off the flashlight at the place that looked like a gate, walked to a stone-like pile and tapped it a few times, then turned around and called Qi Nuan to follow him, and continued to lead her inside in the dark.
Although there was no light, Qi Nuan could still vaguely see the place she passed by. There was a small woods that seemed to have been maintained, and on the other side there seemed to be a dry pond with two rockery stones standing around it. Further in, there was a large garden that was not very messy.
There is no signal and it's so eerie.
Qi Nuan really wanted to ask Special Assistant Zhao, is this the former residence of a wealthy family or a mysterious place?
Just as he was daydreaming, Special Assistant Zhao used an old brass key to open the door of the house in front of him.
He pointed in the direction of the light and nodded to Qi Nuan: "Go straight in, the boss is there."
