After Lu Yin finished his action, Qi Nuan caught a glimpse of Gu Hui smiling as he looked towards the stairs.
"It pains me deeply to have someone cut open my late father's flesh and examine him."
He turned to the two silent people and said, "But I didn't expect to find poison in his body."
Qi Nuan was stunned when she saw several people in judicial uniforms running up the stairs.
Could it be that they are going to frame Lu Yin again?
Gu Hui quickly answered, "Didn't my father have dinner with a certain young actress on the day he passed away? I have a good memory, and she is your beloved sister, Miss Qi."
It turned out that the target was not Lu Yin, but Qi Meng and herself.
Lu Yin's phone rang, he took a look and quickly answered it.
He just put the receiver to his ear and listened for a while, but he didn't say a word and soon hung up the phone.
Before the uniformed personnel reached Qi Nuan, he said to her, "Qi Meng, she's been taken away for questioning."
Before Qi Nuan had time to react to the news, uniformed judicial officers soon appeared in front of her.
The leading man explained the situation to Qi Nuan. As the first person Qi Meng contacted after Gu Tingze's death, she also needed to be summoned for investigation.
Lu Yin did not obediently stretch out his hands to let them take him away like he did the time when he was wrongly accused. Instead, he took two steps forward and stood in front of Qi Nuan, suggesting that they fully cooperate with the summons and go to the police station to be questioned on their own.
"Don't worry, Lawyer Liu Xinyu has already gone to Qi Meng's place. When you go in, don't answer any questions you don't know the exact answers to. He will pick you up later."
Lu Yin sent her to her destination, raised his hand to smooth Qi Nuan's bangs, and smiled at her.
Qi Nuan herself was not timid and was not panicking at all. She was more worried about the situation on her sister's side.
Hearing Lu Yin's gentle comfort, she smiled back at him and nodded: "It's okay, you go back first, see you at the hotel."
Qi Nuan remembered that when she was studying law, she learned that the initial investigation of criminal cases was mostly handled by the local public security bureau.
But she was taken to the local prosecutor's office.
Gu Tingze's cause of death was acute myocardial infarction. Lu Yin also said that old man Gu had actually suffered from multiple diseases for a long time. Coupled with his old age, it was reasonable that he would suddenly die of one of the diseases.
But now, because toxins were found in his body, the case is being treated as a major criminal case, which is unlikely.
The reason why he went to so much trouble to bring her to the Gu family's garden was largely because of the Gu family or the influence of Gu Hui.
Could it be that Gu Hui has also infiltrated this judicial system?
Qi Nuan was sitting at the table thinking and guessing when a middle-aged man walked over and sat down opposite her. He was the man who had just come to the garden and read the summons to her.
He greeted Qi Nuan and introduced himself as a prosecutor named Huang Yan.
After arriving here, Qi Nuan realized that she was brought here only as a witness, not a suspect.
She looked at Huang Yan and asked, "Do prosecutors have to handle cases themselves now, even to the point of summoning witnesses?"
Huang Yan had a pile of information in his hand. He must have read Qi Nuan's background information beforehand and knew that she had studied law, so he was not surprised by her question.
"After all, Chairman Gu Tingze has brought a lot of tax benefits to the local area, and his case needs to be taken seriously. Miss Qi is also the young lady of the Lu family. If I go there in person, it will be easier to communicate, right?"
What the man opposite was saying was not wrong, but from his tone and attitude, it could be seen that he valued the Gu family more.
"First of all, this happened suddenly. You came with us without any questions. Thank you for your cooperation."
Qi Nuan smiled politely, because she also wanted to know what was detected in Gu Tingze's body and whether it would have any adverse effects on her sister.
There were not only the two of them in the interrogation room. There were three staff members around them who were responsible for following up on the dynamics and content, so Qi Nuan was not too worried about being violently tortured.
After a brief opening statement, Huang Yan got to the point: "Chairman Gu Tingze was recently diagnosed with sudden death from a myocardial infarction, but a re-autopsy revealed toxic substances in his body."
"What toxin?" Qi Nuan asked.
"Your sister Qi Meng went to your residence shortly after Chairman Gu passed away. Didn't she tell you what happened?"
Qi Nuan raised the corner of his eye.
She was summoned as a reference witness, but now the questions asked by the prosecutor clearly made her sister a suspected trafficker, and she was regarded as an accomplice?
There is no evidence, so the prosecutor wants to get something out of her?
Qi Nuan smiled: "I don't know what you are talking about. My sister has nothing to do with Gu Tingze's death. She is my sister. It is common for her to come to my place. It's just a coincidence that the two of them met at the same time. What does that mean?"
"Chairman Gu only had dinner with Qi Meng before he died. Toxins were found in his body, but Qi Meng was fine. Shouldn't this be a problem?"
"So, Prosecutor Huang, what you're saying is that he didn't die of a heart attack, but was poisoned?"
Huang Yan stared at Qi Nuan for a few seconds and answered her, "The cause of death was indeed a heart attack, but there's a high possibility that this toxin was the cause of his heart attack."
"So, what is this toxin?"
In response to Qi Nuan's uncompromising questioning, Huang Yan handed her a paper document.
Qi Nuan looked through it carefully and soon saw a word under the toxic pathogenic source: aconitine.
She happened to have known a little about aconitine before and knew that it could cause various malignant arrhythmias, palpitations, and respiratory muscle paralysis.
