Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Su Mu turned around in surprise, "What you just said was true?"

Wu Wei finished dressing and sat down. "I'm stuck in the past, so I can't leave here, but you can! Promise me! You will do it, Su Mu!" Wu Wei held up his fist to him.

Su Mu firmly replied, "I will definitely do it!"

Fist bump! It represents a promise between men.

Wu Wei took a couple of bites, then turned around, picked up the knife, and said, "Let's go."

"Huh? You only ate this little?"

“Eating too much will make you unable to stretch,” Wu Wei said, striding towards the door. Su Mu quickly followed.

The two arrived at the martial arts arena.

Wu Wei took a deep breath, turned to Su Mu, and said, "Let me test how much you've improved."

Su Mu rubbed his hands together, saying, "Don't underestimate me now!" He then threw a punch at Wu Wei's face.

Wu Wei shifted his body to the side and kicked Su Mu in the stomach, yelling, "Too slow!"

Another elbow strike landed on Su Mu.

With one move, Su Mu fell to the ground.

Su Mu, lying on the ground, was momentarily at a loss as to whether to clutch his stomach or his back.

"That hurts too much, Captain! You're going to kill me!"

Wu Wei shook his head. "What do you think? What exactly did Old Li teach you?"

Seeing how hard Wu Wei had hit him, Su Mu quickly got up and said, "Then I won't hold back either!"

Another punch landed, and Wu Wei countered with the same move, while Su Mu blocked it with his left hand. This time it was Su Mu's turn to kick, but Wu Wei had already anticipated this and lifted Su Mu's leg to deliver another punch to his stomach!

Su Mu took two solid punches from Wu Wei and rolled on the ground in pain.

"Learning from battle is good, but clever tricks aren't enough in a life-or-death struggle. Take your weapons and try again tomorrow."

After saying that, Wu Wei immediately ran back to his room to eat; he was starving!

Although Su Mu was beaten, he knew that if Wu Wei hadn't treated him this way, he wouldn't have survived in future battles.

Su Mu slowly returned home, clutching his stomach.

As soon as he entered, his mother rushed over, asking, "Is Su Mu hurt? I was so worried!"

The father, standing to the side, then spoke up, "Didn't I tell you he's fine?"

Su Mu smiled and comforted his mother, "I'm perfectly fine, I'm alive and kicking." After saying that, Su Mu even endured the pain and spun around a few times for his mother to see.

"It's really too dangerous, Su Mu, don't continue..." Looking at Su Mu's resolute eyes, his mother hesitated for a moment but ultimately didn't say anything.

The father treated it as just another ordinary day, with his son returning home.

"Not yet, Mom! I'm so hungry! I want to eat meat!"

Upon hearing her son's complaint, the mother immediately got to work, saying, "I'll go cook now! It'll be ready in a little while!"

"Haven't you changed your mind yet?"

Upon hearing his father's words, Su Mu realized that this might be his last chance to back out.

The fear of death had not disappeared, nor had his reluctance to leave his loved ones and his attachment to the status quo. But his life was not his own, so he could no longer regret it. He seemed to understand Old Li's actions now. The future was left to the young people, and all he could do was protect the younger generation like himself. He also knew that Wu Wei's mission was to protect this small town, so his only hope was himself!

"I used to think that I could live a peaceful life under your protection, but I didn't know that our lives were bought with the lives of all the demon slayers. So now I want to protect you. If this world is ever ruled by demons, I hope that I will be there to stand in your way."

Father smiled; before, he only smiled at Honeysuckle, besides Mother.

Su Mu was unaware that his words had not only been understood by his father but also by his mother.

"What an idiot," Ren Dong said, and then secretly went back to her room.

"Don't blame Ren Dong; your mother and I know about her decision."

Su Mu suddenly sat up in surprise, "I completely forgot about that! I think I said something really hurtful to her that day!"

Su Mu immediately ran to Ren Dong's room and banged on the door desperately.

No matter what, Ren Dong never forgave him, and even afterwards she avoided meeting Su Mu.
