Chapter 18

Chapter 18

Honeysuckle carefully put away the change and pulled Jingtao upstairs. As soon as they entered, they were amazed at how clean and tidy the room was, and how it was two or three times larger than their own room. They also found a bathtub in the corner.

Ren Dong went downstairs and asked the servant to boil water. After boiling the water, she adjusted the temperature herself and added many high-quality medicinal herbs to the water. After everything was done, she brought Jing Tao over, compared the bath tub to her clothes, and Jing Tao looked at the hot water tub and nodded.

Honeysuckle said happily, "Now you should understand, right?"

Ren Dong carefully removed Jing Tao's clothes, and her old wounds immediately came to the fore. Following Ren Dong's instructions, Jing Tao entered the bathtub.

Honeysuckle picked up a towel and wiped Jingtao's body again and again, leaving wounds everywhere she touched.

"Although we don't know what you've been through, we'll be there for you from now on."

Honeysuckle carefully wetted Jingtao's hair, then gently combed and untangled it.

About half an hour passed after this. Ren Dong picked up a towel and wiped Jing Tao down. Suddenly, she remembered that Jing Tao didn't seem to have any clean clothes. So she had Jing Tao sit on the bed, wrapped her in a quilt, and told her to wait there.

Honeysuckle grabbed her money bag and immediately ran downstairs to find the nearest silk shop.

As soon as I entered, a beautifully dressed woman greeted me with a bow and asked, "Miss, is there anything you need?"

Honeysuckle nodded politely, "I'd like to buy a dress."

The woman led the honeysuckle around and introduced each item one by one: "These are all made of the finest silks in our shop, including linen, leather, and silk. What kind of silk would you like to choose, young lady?"

Honeysuckle couldn't find anything to choose from at a glance. In her small town, all she could wear was coarse linen, but here were materials she had never seen before, especially the silk that the girl had just introduced. It was as thin as a cicada's wing and had a gorgeous sheen, and it would shimmer with different colors from different angles.

Honeysuckle waved her hand and pointed to the pink silk dress, "I'll take this one."

The shop assistant couldn't help but praise, "Young lady, you have excellent taste! This silk dress is our best-selling item." Then, she took the dress down and asked, "Excuse me, young lady, are you going to wear this yourself? Would you like it altered?"

Honeysuckle took the dress and held it up to herself. "Could you alter it a little smaller? My friend is a little shorter than me."

The clerk nodded. "Please come back to pick it up later."

Led by the shop assistant, Ren Dong paid the bill, and her wallet was instantly half empty.

Honeysuckle painfully counted the remaining change, thinking, "Beautiful things always come at a price."

Although it hurts to spend the money, it is Jing Tao's money after all, so it's not unreasonable for her to spend it on herself.

Honeysuckle took the remaining money and went for a stroll in the street, buying some rouge and face powder.

"We still have to buy it on the street; at least we can save a few coins."

After buying everything, Ren Dong immediately took it back to the inn.

When they returned, Jing Tao was already asleep.

However, after Ren Dong put the things down, Jing Tao slowly woke up.

When Ren Dong saw that Jing Tao was awake, she immediately handed her the clothes, saying, "You're awake! Come and see the new clothes I bought for you."

With the help of honeysuckle, Jingtao put on peach-colored silk.

Honeysuckle watched as Jingtao donned her clothes, gathering around her in circles. In the afterglow of the setting sun, the silk shimmered and changed colors.

"It's so beautiful!"

"However," Ren Dong looked at Jing Tao's face, then pulled her to sit at the dressing table and started applying the rouge and powder she had bought.

In no time, Honeysuckle finished her masterpiece.

"A makeover really makes a difference; Xiao Tao has transformed into a little beauty."

Honeysuckle couldn't wait to take Little Peach to Su Mu to show off her work.

Su Mu was stunned when he opened the door, and asked the person behind his sister, "Who is this?"

Honeysuckle replied with a grin, "This is Little Peach."

"Huh?" Su Mu looked around at Jing Tao in shock and asked, "You're not lying to me, are you?"

Honeysuckle grabbed Jingtao's hand and prepared to leave. "What good would it do me to lie to you? We're going shopping, are you coming?"

Su Mu hurriedly went back into the house, grabbed his sword, and followed after him, calling out, "Wait for me!"
