Chapter 30

Chapter 30

After lunch, Ren Dong took Jing Tao back to their room to change clothes.

After everything was tidied up, Su Mu and Dongfang Jin were called in.

Upon entering, Dongfang Jin saw Jing Tao dressed in red.

Wearing a dragon and phoenix gown, with dragons and phoenixes embroidered on the front of the chest, the dragon above and the phoenix below, adorned with gold thread, and ruyi cloud patterns embroidered on the shoulders and neck, symmetrical and neat, a red brocade shawl hanging from the shoulders to the waist, Jing Tao's fair skin and pink rouge made her face look even more youthful, and the bright red lipstick on her chubby white face gave her a sense of contrast between a child and an adult.

Looking at Jing Tao in her wedding dress, Dongfang Jin couldn't help but recall the scene of her and Jing Tao getting married.

After she and Jing Tao finished their wedding ceremony and entered the bridal chamber, she lifted her veil, and this scene appeared before her eyes, except that the wedding dress and ornaments should be even more gorgeous.

Ren Dong coughed twice as she looked at Dongfang Jin, who was lost in thought.

Dongfang Jin only came to her senses after being reminded by Ren Dong.

"Won't it be too inconvenient for Jing Tao to be dressed like this?" Su Mu asked.

"There's no other way. We have to make the act convincing. If anyone sees through our act, all our efforts will be wasted."

Although Dongfang Jin was somewhat reluctant to let Jing Tao go after witnessing this scene, she had no other choice. "Should we let Jing Tao ambush him?"

Su Mu stood in front of Jing Tao. "But does Jing Tao know what a sneak attack is?"

Su Mu picked up the veil from the side and placed it on Jing Tao's head, then picked up Jing Tao's knife and placed it in her hand.

Su Mu lifted the veil and then, holding Jing Tao's hand, stabbed himself.

And then this process is repeated.

After trying more than ten times, Su Mu lifted Jing Tao's veil, only to find that Jing Tao was still holding the knife and staring at him without making any move, so he gave up on the plan.

Su Mu sat down dejectedly and drank his tea. "Looks like this trick didn't work."

"Instead of spending your time teaching her, you should go out and practice your swordsmanship more."

Su Mu thought it made sense and went out with his sword.

"Then I'll go prepare some medicine just in case," Honeysuckle said and left.

Dongfang Jin watched the two leave and then knelt down beside Jing Tao, looking at her.

Their eyes met, and Dongfang Jin's hand involuntarily touched Jing Tao's face.

His slender fingers, with distinct knuckles, gently caressed Jing Tao's face with the slight calluses on his fingertips.

Dongfang Jin's thumb brushed against Jing Tao's lips, leaving a bright red cinnabar mark. Looking at the color on her hand, she couldn't help but lower her head and lick her still-fragrant finger.

Jing Tao watched as Dongfang Jin imitated her, covering Dongfang Jin's lips with her own hand.

Feeling Jing Tao's body temperature, Dongfang Jin took Jing Tao's hands and held them tightly in her own.

"Even if it means death, I will stand in front of you this time."

The next day, everyone was ready to go.

As the sun set, a tiny butterfly fairy appeared before them, leading them into the depths of the mountains.

Honeysuckle also dressed up as a man to help carry the sedan chair.

As they walked, a thick fog rolled in, and apart from the light emanating from the butterfly fairy ahead, everything around them gradually became blurred.

After walking for an unknown amount of time, the group arrived at a dead end covered with vines.

The butterfly demon stepped forward, and the vines spread out in all directions, revealing a hole.

The group followed them inside, and after walking for a while, the light gradually became more apparent.

Before long, all sorts of monsters, big and small, appeared before everyone's eyes. The cave had been transformed into a place for human habitation. Further on, a monster dressed as a human sat quietly in a chair, waiting for the sedan chair to arrive.

The monster, dressed in red with dark green hair cascading over its shoulders, walked step by step toward the sedan chair.

As the monster drew closer, Ren Dong couldn't help but marvel: This monster was so beautiful! Her hair was soft and swayed gently with her movements, adding a touch of languid charm. Her fair skin had a natural clarity, and her eyes were full of affection, with slightly upturned corners.

"My lady, it's time to come out."

After the monster finished speaking, there was no movement from inside the sedan chair.

The monster narrowed his eyes and had no choice but to bend down, lifting the sedan curtain with one hand and reaching inside with the other.

Jing Tao noticed a light source appearing around her, and looking down, she saw a hand appear in front of her. She then bent down and walked out.

As soon as she came out, Jing Tao removed the veil that was blocking her view.

The monster was in a good mood as he looked at the woman in front of him who neither held his hand nor took off her veil.

"An interesting lady has arrived today. It seems my days will not be boring from now on," he said, gesturing for Jing Tao to sit down in front.

Jing Tao didn't understand what he meant, and turned to look at the three people.

The three of them pointed to the table and chairs in front of Yi Liu without prior agreement.

Jing Tao understood what the three meant and walked to the table and sat down on her own.

Yi Liu looked at the sedan bearers with confusion. "You can leave now."

“We have to see Miss get married with our own eyes,” Su Mu replied.

Yi Liu turned around and sat down next to Jing Tao, picked up the wine pot and poured two cups of wine, handing one of them to Jing Tao.

Jing Tao picked it up and smelled it; it had a very unpleasant smell.

Yi Liu picked up the wine glass and drank it all in one gulp.

Jing Tao watched as the man opposite her finished his drink, then took a sip herself, only to spit it out and cough a few times.

Yi Liu patted Jing Tao on the back. "It seems my wife isn't used to drinking." He then picked up another pot, poured a cup, and handed it to Jing Tao.

"This is excellent peach blossom wine; it has no alcoholic taste."

Jing Tao took the drink, smelled it, and finding no unpleasant taste, drank it down.

Yi Liu looked at Jing Tao with a smile, finding her incredibly cute.

Yi Liu took Jing Tao's hand and led her to the center. "Today is my wedding day with my wife. Thank you all for coming."

All the surrounding monsters cheered. Butterfly demons flew to Yi Liu and Jing Tao and danced gracefully. A peach demon stretched out a slender branch, and peach blossoms fell from the sky. Accompanied by the light of fireflies, the entire cave was like a fairyland.

Yi Liu saw that Jing Tao was also admiring all of this, and he couldn't help but take Jing Tao's hands and kiss her.

Just as the two were about to touch, a black figure drew his sword and thrust it forward, while a white sword light blocked their path.

Yi Liu fell backward, watching as the newcomer shielded Jing Tao behind him.

Dongfang Jin used her body to shield Jing Tao, pointing her sword at Yi Liu.

"Leave the hand that touched her tonight."
