Chapter 11 Understanding His Past

Su Yinwan changed into slippers and went to the restaurant.

Seeing that Aunt Liu was preparing lunch, Su Yinwan went over to wash her hands and wanted to help.

"Oh no, oh no, young mistress, how can we let you do these chores?"

Seeing this, Aunt Liu quickly wiped the water off her hands with a tissue and slowly pushed her towards the living room while talking.

"You can sit in the living room for a while and watch TV. I'll call you when dinner is ready."

"It's alright, Aunt Liu. How about I sit here and chat with you for a while? I promise I won't lay a hand on you."

Su Yinwan waved to her warmly and then sat down at the small bar next to her.

For Su Yinwan, Aunt Liu was practically family to the Rong family.

She had once heard Rong's mother say that Rong Jing and Rong Xue'er were raised by Aunt Liu, who was closer to them than a relative.

Furthermore, during the one or two months she spent in Shallow Moon Bay, Aunt Liu treated Rong Jing and the others no differently, perhaps out of affection for them.

She takes care of these grown-up children with the same care as a mother, wishing them well, hoping they are healthy and safe.

Su Yinwan remembered the scar on Rong Jing's back that night, and she suddenly wanted to understand his past and know everything about him.

Perhaps because they had been taking care of each other during this time, their relationship seemed to be slowly warming up, and everything seemed to be getting better.

She paused for a moment, then went straight to the point, "Aunt Liu, do you know how Rong Jing got those scars? What did he go through in the past?"

Aunt Liu was surprised that Su Yinwan would ask this question. She paused abruptly, then her face was full of heartache.

"Young Master really suffered a lot in the past. In order to cultivate him, the old man sent him to a closed training base in Linjiang right after he graduated from university."

Aunt Liu said thoughtfully.

"Madam said that the conditions there were very harsh, and the coach was heartless, only knowing how to teach with fists and kicks. Although the young master never complained, Madam still felt sorry for him. She thought about bringing the young master back, but the old master and the teacher stopped her. So the young master stayed there for a whole year. When he came back, he became even more indifferent and didn't like to talk anymore."

Su Yinwan was somewhat moved by what she heard; she realized he had suffered so much in the past.

Aunt Liu continued, "What I remember most vividly is the beginning of last year, when the whole Rong family was in a panic. The young master encountered some danger outside and was shot and stabbed."

She recalled the time when the young master was seriously ill and the old master couldn't hold on any longer and was hospitalized, leaving only the husband and wife to support the family.

As she spoke, Aunt Liu wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes and said in a trembling voice, "He spent more than a month in the ICU, and then spent several months in a regular ward. For the past six months, the young master has been like a vegetable, lying motionless in the hospital bed for a full six months."

"Later, after the young master was discharged from the hospital, the Rong family kept silent about his injury, as if there was some hidden story."

As Aunt Liu spoke, she walked up to Su Yinwan and added, "Young Madam, the young master is also a pitiful person. He has experienced so many cruel things and suffered so much at such a young age, and the old master and others are so strict with him."

Su Yinwan watched as Aunt Liu gently held her hand, listening attentively as Aunt Liu continued, "I raised the young master myself, and we've developed feelings for each other. Now that you're married, I really hope that someone can truly love him and warm his heart. Originally, I was just a lowly servant and shouldn't have said so much. If the young mistress minds, I won't say anything more."

"It's alright, Aunt Liu, thank you for telling me all this."

Su Yinwan picked up a tissue to wipe away her tears and shook her head.

After a while, Su Yinwan and Aunt Liu started to change the subject, chatting about this and that.

Aunt Liu suddenly had an idea. She smiled and said, "Why don't you send the young master some food today, young mistress? He'll be very happy."

With a soft "Ah," Su Yinwan paused for a moment after hearing this, but finally nodded slightly in response, "Okay, Aunt Liu, then you prepare it, I'll take it to him after I finish eating."

"Okay, sure." Aunt Liu was so happy that she didn't expect Su Yinwan to agree so quickly that she busied herself in the kitchen.

After lunch, Su Yinwan asked Lin Jun to drive her to Rong's Group.

Lin Jun is Uncle Lin's son. Uncle Lin is the housekeeper of the old house and has lived there for decades. He is a kind man.

Lin Jun dropped out of high school before graduating and later worked with Uncle Lin at the old house.

Some time ago, Rong Jing arranged for Lin Jun to come to Qianyue Bay from the old house because she was injured.

"Young Madam, please get in the car."

Looking at Lin Jun, who was tall and strong but also lively and cute, Su Yinwan got along quite well with him.

Lin Jun got out of the car and opened the back door for Su Yinwan, smiling as he asked, "Is Madam going to deliver lunch to the young master?"

With a soft "hmm," Su Yinwan slowly sat down.

After about a 30-minute drive, Su Yinwan arrived at the Rong Group building.

She went to the front desk and asked a young woman, "Hello, I'd like to ask if your CEO, Mr. Rong, is in the company today? Which floor is his office on?"

The young woman at the front desk heard the soft voice, looked up and saw Su Yinwan dressed naturally and elegantly, then noticed that she was carrying a thermal box.

She stood up from her seat, gave a slight bow, and smiled professionally. "Madam, do you have an appointment? If not, we cannot let you in. Please understand."

Su Yinwan then realized that it was normal for the young girl in front of her not to know that she was Mrs. Rong, since she and Rong Jing had only registered their marriage and had not held a grand wedding.

Therefore, outsiders only know that Rong Jing, the president of Rong Group, is married, but they don't know the true face of his wife.

Su Yinwan never flaunted her status as a member of the Rong family.

"Sorry, no, I'll go over there and make a call to him."

Upon hearing this, the young woman at the front desk assumed she was just an admirer of President Rong, and gestured to the chair next to her, indicating that she could wait there.

Su Yinwan picked up her phone, hesitating whether to call Rong Jing. Just as she was thinking, Assistant Xu came in after dropping off a client.

He was a little surprised to see Su Yinwan sitting in the corner, as his wife had never been to the company before.

"Madam, what are you doing here?"

Su Yinwan looked up and saw that it was Assistant Xu. She pointed to the insulated box in her hand and said, "I'm here to deliver food to your President Rong, but I can't get in because I didn't make an appointment."

"I'm sorry, madam. The young lady is ignorant. I'll talk to her later."

Assistant Xu smiled politely and bowed slightly to Su Yinwan with his hands folded in front of him.

"Shall I take you up now?"

"Yes, that's fine."

As Assistant Xu passed by the front desk, he gestured to the young woman with his eyes, as if to say that next time this lady came, he should just let her go upstairs.

The young woman thought she had met some important person who commanded such respect from Assistant Xu. Then, thinking about how she had just stopped him, she began to worry about whether she would be evaluated or fired. The more she thought about it, the more anxious she became.
