Chapter 42 Family Law

Rong Jing drove all the way back to the old house.

Upon entering the living room, he found Grandpa Rong, his parents, and even Su Yinwan sitting next to Grandpa Rong.

Rong Jing frowned, wondering how she had gotten out of Shallow Moon Bay.

At this moment, the atmosphere in the living room was so quiet it bordered on solemn.

"Grandpa, what's the matter that you called me back?"

"Kneel down, you bastard!"

Grandpa Rong exudes an air of authority without anger, and despite being over seventy years old, he remains vigorous and energetic.

Rong Jing didn't say a word, but knelt on the ground with his back straight.

It's obvious that the whole family is on Su Yinwan's side.

"Who gave you permission to confine Wanwan to Shallow Moon Bay? If she hadn't been lucky enough to run out and ask us for help, you probably would have kept it a secret from us and done whatever you wanted."

So you think you're all grown up now? Wanwan is your wife, is this how you treat your wife?

"Guards, bring the family punishment!"

"Grandpa, this..." Uncle Lin hesitated, unable to finish his sentence.

If the old man uses family discipline, the young master will probably lose half his life.

"Go on, what are you standing there for?"

Uncle Lin nodded repeatedly and left.

Su Yinwan, standing to the side, instinctively felt that this family's methods were not simple, and couldn't help but feel a little worried.

Should she not have come here to complain today?

Soon, Uncle Lin came in with a thin, long whip.

Old Master Rong got up, took the long whip, and lashed Rong Jing with it again and again.

Each time, they hit harder than the last.

After cracking the whip countless times, Old Master Rong began to pant, but his movements showed no sign of stopping.

Rong Jing was wearing a white shirt today, and he took off his suit jacket before getting out of the car.

At this moment, his back had been beaten so badly by Old Master Rong that his skin was torn and bleeding, and one after another, bright red wounds were visible to everyone.

Mrs. Rong felt a pang of guilt and wanted to stop Mr. Rong, but she knew that no one could change his decision.

Su Yinwan watched as Rong Jing's face gradually turned pale and was covered in cold sweat. He pursed his thin lips, showing no intention of begging for mercy from Old Master Rong.

Love arises without warning; I love him and cannot bear to see him hurt.

Su Yinwan, emboldened by some unknown source, bent down and rushed towards Rong Jing from behind.

She hugged Rong Jing's neck, using her small body to block the long whip that had been expected to come from behind.

With a hiss, Su Yinwan truly experienced the power of the whip; just one lash was enough to make her heart leap into her throat from the pain.

Her back was burning hot, and cold sweat quickly broke out all over her body.

Su Yinwan could hardly imagine how the man had endured so many lashes.

It really hurts to the core.

Grandpa Rong never expected Su Yinwan to suddenly rush out and block Rong Jing. He watched as the whip he had thrown landed on Su Yinwan, his face full of self-reproach.

Startled, Rong's mother rushed over and supported Su Yinwan, tears welling in her eyes. "Wanwan, you're such a silly child. It must be in a lot of pain."

"Bear with it for a bit, I'll have the doctor come and check the wound."

Grandpa Rong walked up to Rong Jing, forcefully threw the long whip to the ground, and said in a deep voice, "This time, for Wanwan's sake, I will not punish you. If there is a next time, I will not let you off lightly."

Rong Jing looked at Su Yinwan, who rushed over to shield him from the whip, and the emotions in his eyes were hard to fathom.

Everyone surrounded Su Yinwan with great concern, and Su Yinwan responded with a gentle smile, "I'm fine, it doesn't hurt much, don't worry."

Su Yinwan glanced at Rong Jing out of the corner of her eye, wanting to know how he was doing.

Before they knew it, their eyes met.

Rong Jing's intense gaze was fixed on Su Yinwan, who, feeling somewhat overwhelmed, looked away.

Because Su Yinwan's back wound was inconvenient, Uncle Lin found another female doctor.

Rong's mother led the female doctor and helped Su Yinwan back to her bedroom.

Rong Jing took off her shirt in the living room and let Dr. Li treat her wounds directly.

New wounds on top of old ones, the hideous and terrifying scars shocked Dr. Li.

In all his years of medical practice, he had never seen a patient so badly injured.

It's extremely rare for someone to become the Rong family's family doctor.

Surviving in a wealthy family is not easy, Dr. Li thought to himself. If his master were still alive, he would probably not be surprised.

After treating the wound, Grandpa Rong didn't forget to whisper something in Rong Jing's ear.

"Marriage requires both people to work hard to maintain it; going your own way will only destroy the marriage."

Misunderstandings should be cleared up promptly; otherwise, what's the point of keeping your mouth shut?

Trust is the most basic and fundamental element.

The happiest family is one where hearts are connected, and people understand and respect each other.

"Never mind, one day you'll truly understand the meaning of it."

Upstairs, Su Yinwan endured the pain as a female doctor disinfected and cleaned her back, treating the whip marks.

Afterwards, Rong's mother helped her change into a loose-fitting house dress and told her that she could stay in the room to rest and didn't need to go downstairs anymore.

Su Yinwan thought about her back injury, hand injury, and foot injury; it was truly a day that had been "blessed" by her.

Thankfully, she's finally out. From this moment on, the days of freedom are coming.

Now that this unexpected incident has occurred, Old Master Rong has temporarily prevented Rong Jing and Su Yinwan from returning to Qianyue Bay.

Rong Jing called back to Qian Yue Bay and instructed Aunt Liu to pack their luggage and take it to the old house.

There was no blame in his words for Aunt Liu and Lin Jun's inadequate supervision.

Aunt Liu was overjoyed; the young mistress had finally found a savior.

After hanging up the phone, she hummed a tune as she went upstairs to the master bedroom to pack their things.

Rong Xueer returned before dinner.

After hearing what Uncle Lin had told her about what had just happened at the old house, she felt sorry not only for her brother but also for her sister-in-law.

She felt that her brother's confinement of his wife was just another way he expressed his love for her, only he was using the wrong method.

Although she had never been in a relationship, she knew clearly that her brother actually loved his sister-in-law very much; otherwise, he wouldn't have asked her to come back and help them.

She also felt a deep sense of heartache for Su Yinwan.

Rong Xue'er ran into their room, hugged Su Yinwan tightly, and said with tears in her eyes.

"Sister-in-law, I'm sorry, this apology is on behalf of my brother."

If I had known you would suffer so much, I shouldn't have listened to my brother and gone back to the old house. That way, you wouldn't have been grounded.

"My brother was also wrong, and Grandpa scolded him today. Can you forgive him?"

Su Yinwan raised her left hand to wipe away the large tears on Rong Xue'er's face, and looked at her with gentle eyes, "Why are you crying? I'm fine, I'm not blaming your brother, it's okay."

“Sister-in-law, you and your brother must always be good to each other. He loves you very much, but he just doesn’t know how to love someone. You have to teach him.”

Su Yinwan was amused by Rong Xueer's words, "You're still so young, yet you speak so eloquently. Don't worry, your brother and I will handle it."

Su Yinwan stroked Rong Xue'er's little head, thinking to herself that she really loved her brother.

Although they bicker with each other on a daily basis, they will always protect her brother when it matters. Perhaps this is the power of blood ties.
