The next day.
Su Yinwan hadn't slept so comfortably on the first day of her period in a long time, even though she used to take medication.
If she hadn't woken up by hunger, she guessed she could have slept all day.
After a quick wash, Su Yinwan went downstairs to find something to eat.
"Aunt Liu, is there anything we can eat now? I'm so hungry!"
Having spent four or five months with Aunt Liu in Shallow Moon Bay, and given Aunt Liu's kind and amiable personality, Su Yinwan had long regarded her as family.
She started calling for Aunt Liu from the corner of the stairs before she even reached the kitchen.
After a moment, Aunt Liu did not respond to her.
"Aunt Liu?" Su Yinwan called her again, peeking into the kitchen.
"Aunt Liu went out to buy groceries. Are you hungry?"
Rong Jing, who was sitting in the living room reading a newspaper, put down the newspaper and got up to walk towards her.
"A little bit." Su Yinwan covered her rumbling stomach and pouted.
Rong Jing took her hand and led her to the restaurant, pulling out a chair for her to sit down.
Then, he poured a glass of warm water and handed it to Su Yinwan, saying gently, "How about I make you a husband-style noodle soup?"
"Hmm? You can cook?" Su Yinwan looked up at the man, somewhat hesitant.
She had never seen Rong Jing cook before.
And he doesn't seem like someone who knows how to cook.
“That’s right, just wait patiently.” Rong Jing raised an eyebrow slightly.
then.
He walked into the kitchen and methodically prepared the ingredients for cooking noodles.
The kitchen doors and windows are transparent, so Su Yinwan can see everything inside from the dining room.
It was the first time she had ever seen a man crack an egg with one hand.
This was the first time she had ever seen a man wash and chop vegetables.
This was the first time she had ever seen a man cook noodles.
He was somewhat different from usual today; he seemed less imposing and less sharp.
It has become more tender, more loving.
Fifteen minutes later, Rong Jing placed a large bowl of noodles in front of Su Yinwan.
Looking at the bowl of noodles and its presentation, Su Yinwan smiled.
His knife skills are indeed excellent; he transformed an ordinary carrot into a rose with a strong sense of artistry.
Even those round beef balls were made to look like they were smiling.
The soft-boiled egg, cut in half, was sprinkled with black sesame seeds as a garnish; upon closer inspection, the seeds were arranged in the shape of smiley faces.
Then place a few Shanghai bok choy on the side, so vibrant green.
Su Yinwan couldn't help but admire his skill; he could come up with so many different designs in such a short time.
"You're amazing, Mr. Rong."
"Hmm." The man smiled, pleased with the compliment. "Try it."
He handed a pair of chopsticks to Su Yinwan.
Su Yinwan calmly picked up a mouthful of noodles and chewed them carefully.
The noodles are chewy and smooth, and not clumpy at all.
The beef balls are bouncy and chewy, very satisfying.
The soft-boiled egg is tender and juicy, and bursts with flavorful filling.
Shanghai bok choy is crisp, sweet, and refreshing.
The carrot flowers were arranged so beautifully that she couldn't bear to eat them.
Take another sip of the noodle soup, and it's incredibly delicious.
I don't know how men cook, but it's really good.
Su Yinwan looked up and gave Rong Jing a thumbs up, "Delicious, really delicious. I didn't expect you to be such a good cook."
"If you like it, I'll cook it for you at home from now on."
"But won't you get tired of doing so many different things in the future?"
"If it's food I'm making for you, I'll do it a thousand or ten thousand times without getting tired of it."
Rong Jing gazed at Su Yinwan with deep affection, his voice alluring.
Su Yinwan paused for a few seconds, looking at the man's serious expression, and felt a sweet warmth in her heart.
It's often said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
For them, it seems the opposite.
Rong Jing's superb culinary skills captivated Su Yinwan's love for food.
Afterwards, Su Yinwan managed to eat more than half of the soup noodles despite her full stomach, and there were still leftovers.
He shook his head and said frankly, "I can't eat anymore, I'm so full."
She placed the chopsticks flat on the soup bowl and waved her hand dismissively.
Rong Jing had just finished washing the fruit and came out. Seeing Su Yinwan struggling to stay upright, he smiled indulgently.
He didn't hesitate at all to pick up Su Yinwan's chopsticks and bring the bowl of noodles to his own side.
"I've already eaten that," Su Yinwan said, trying to stop him.
"I don't mind, it's not like it's the first time I've tasted your saliva."
After saying that, Rong Jing started eating the noodles that Su Yinwan had left.
The man always ate with such gentle elegance; even when eating noodles, you couldn't hear him slurping.
"Aren't you going to work today?" Su Yinwan picked up a big, red strawberry and started eating it.
She suddenly realized that it wasn't the weekend and he should be at the company right now.
"I'm worried you're not feeling well, so I'll be working from home today."
Rong Jing didn't hide anything and explained why he wasn't going to the company.
"My stomach doesn't hurt as much anymore. It's usually only worse on the first day of my period. Are you sure you don't need to go back to the company?"
"No need, I'll stay home with you."
After the meal, Rong Jing returned to his study to work, and Su Yinwan did not disturb him.
She went back to the master bedroom and took another nap.
That evening, Rong Jing went over to call her to get up for dinner.
Aunt Liu went to the market today to buy a black-boned chicken and made a chicken soup for Su Yinwan.
It also contains motherwort, astragalus, red dates, and yam.
"Young Madam, are you feeling better today? Is it still in pain?"
Aunt Liu looked at Su Yinwan, who was drinking soup, with a kind expression.
"Mmm, it's much better now."
"Drink more of this soup; it's good for your health and replenishes your blood and energy."
Aunt Liu stared at Su Yinwan's bowl, and when she finished drinking, she poured more.
So if Su Yinwan keeps being fed like this every day, she'll gain weight in no time.
