Chapter 11: Free Money

Looking at the purse in Qin Ye's hand, Song Qianning's eyes lit up.

After waiting for a long time, Qin Ye didn't give her the silver. Song Qianning blinked, and only one thought remained in her mind:

This strange-looking man must want to split the money with her.

In Song Qianning's opinion, this money was earned for free, so it would be okay to give half of it to the other party.

Assuming the man wanted to split the money in half with her, Song Qianning said generously, "How about you take half of the money and give me the other half?"

Worried that the man might disagree, she held up a finger and assured him, "I only need half."

Seeing that Qin Ye didn't speak, Song Qianning's face tightened: "How about a small half?"

Facing Song Qianning's tangled face, Qin Ye, holding the purse, had a strange expression: "...You want to give me half of the silver?"

Mistakenly thinking that Qin Ye was dissatisfied with the small amount, Song Qianning endured the pain and said, "If it doesn't work, just take more and give me some as you see fit."

Before Qin Ye could react, the guard standing behind him couldn't help but let out a snicker.

This girl is really funny. I wonder what kind of status her master has. Why would he be interested in such a small bag of silver?

Fearing that Qin Ye would discover and punish him, the guard immediately stopped laughing and put on an expressionless look again.

Because of Song Qianning's words, the veins on Qin Ye's forehead jumped. He took a deep breath and said, "The silver is yours."

The implication is: He won't want the money.

After receiving all the silver, Song Qianning's eyes suddenly lit up, and she said without hesitation, "Thank you, sir."

Just by looking at the weight of the silver in the purse, you can tell that there is a lot of silver in it.

As for rejection or not wanting something, that doesn't exist at all.

Only a fool would refuse money that comes for free.

After happily putting the silver away, Song Qianning started to flatter Qin Ye in front of her again.

Seeing Song Qianning put the silver away, Qin Ye retracted his gaze and suddenly asked, "What's your name?"

After all, Qin Ye was a "good man" who had just given her money, so Song Qianning didn't hide it and said her name: "My name is Song Qianning."

When Song Qianning said her name, people nearby suddenly exclaimed in surprise. Then they lowered their voices and said to the people around them, "I remember the daughter of Mr. Song who got pregnant out of wedlock. Wasn't she named Song Qianning?"

"No wonder she looks familiar to me. It turns out she's the daughter of Mr. Song who had an affair."

Many people knew that the daughter of Mr. Song was pregnant before marriage. Although they didn't know what she looked like, they knew her name, and they immediately started discussing it in whispers.

Some people who didn't know the situation asked about it, and some gossipers in the crowd inevitably started talking about the fact that Song Qianning was pregnant before marriage.

"What? Song Qianning is pregnant before marriage?!"

"That's right."

Those gossipers looked at Song Qianning with disdain and muttered, "I heard that it was Song Qianning who committed adultery with another man, and later she got pregnant and refused to abort the evil child."

"If you ask me, those wild ducks she sells might have been caught for her by other wild men."

"That's what I think. Everyone knows that wild ducks are very ferocious and even men may not be able to catch them. How could a frail woman like her have such great strength to catch a wild duck? She must have seduced some man."

"You didn't see it, the people who bought her ducks recently were all men, and she even smiled at those men. Oh my, I couldn't bear to watch it."

"How can a woman who got pregnant through adultery have the nerve to call herself a Duck Xishi?"

As the gossips grew louder, many people around who already disliked Song Qianning looked at her with even more disgust.

Qin Ye had a very good hearing, and he could hear every word of the gossips that were whispered to him.

When Qin Ye heard that Song Qianning had committed adultery and was pregnant, the look in his eyes became even stranger.

Song Qianning, who was happy about the free money, also noticed the sharp gaze above her head.

Taking advantage of the commotion around, Song Qianning, who had put away her money bag, said, "Thank you for your help today, Master Guan. I won't bother you any further."

Without giving Qin Ye a chance to answer, Song Qianning finished speaking and ran away.

Qin Ye stared at Song Qianning's back, his cold brows slightly furrowed.

Seeing this, the guard took the initiative to ask, "Master, can you send your subordinates to bring that girl back?"

Waving his hand to stop the guard's action, Qin Ye retracted his gaze and said coldly: "Go and investigate the identity of the woman below."

"Yes." The guard responded respectfully without asking any further questions.

After the guards took the order and left, Qin Ye returned to the carriage, closed his eyes, and recalled the cold fragrance he had just smelled in his mind.

When I opened my eyes, a cold look flashed across my eyes.

After leaving the market, Song Qianning quietly felt relieved when she saw that Qin Ye and the others did not catch up.

When Qin Ye was staring at her just now, Song Qianning felt uneasy subconsciously, and driven by intuition, she slipped away without thinking.

Thinking that the two cubs should have returned home by now, Song Qianning did not stay in the market for long. Putting the uneasiness behind her, she hurried back to Stone Village.

As soon as I walked to the gate of my yard, I saw a small figure standing outside the door, looking up from time to time. The small figure exuded a sense of confusion.

Until Song Qianning's figure appeared in his sight, Da Wang, who was looking at the door, his eyes lit up, he raised his little feet and wanted to go over, but finally retracted them as if nothing had happened.

"I'm back."

A voice rang out overhead. Dawang froze, uttering an "oh." Then, as if to hide something, he said, "Come back if you want. I'm waiting for Tiezhu and the others."

The iron pillar that Dawang mentioned was a kid from Stone Village. Looking at the empty surroundings, Song Qianning deliberately stretched out her tone: "So that's how it is. I thought you were waiting for me."

"I'm not waiting for you!"

Knowing the awkwardness of the baby, I felt less depressed about being left behind and running away.

Pretending not to know Da Wang's little awkwardness, Song Qianning took her son to the yard.

During this time, Da Wang asked casually, "How did you get back?"

Pretending not to notice his secretly pricked ears, Song Qianning told him what happened at the market.

Finally, she said happily, "Thanks to that kind-hearted person, I got a lot of money for free."

After learning that Song Qianning was helped by a kind-hearted person, Dawang's little face became twisted and his eyes secretly looked at her.

"Bad... Do you know who that kind-hearted person is? There's no such young official."

"Officials all have beards, but he doesn't. How do you know he's an official?"

Not missing the glances from her son, Song Qianning pondered for a moment, then puffed up her cheeks and asked, "Son, are you afraid that your mother will run away with someone else and abandon you?"
