Chapter 225: Being Picked on

Since its opening, the restaurant has had a constant stream of customers every day.

Unlike other restaurants that see fewer customers after opening, Song Qianning's restaurant still has the same number of customers after being open for a while, and its popularity is growing.

The restaurant's private rooms and seats are rarely empty, and it is no exaggeration to say that they are overcrowded.

In recent times, the restaurant's customer flow has been declining and business has been getting worse.

Especially those daughters and wives of officials, who were once regular customers, but after a certain period of time, they almost never came again, nor did they ask their servants to come to the restaurant to buy anything.

Apart from the daughters and wives of officials, the number of ordinary people coming to the store is also decreasing, and the customer flow is getting smaller day by day.

Song Qianning discovered this situation when she was checking the accounts. Looking at the declining sales in the account book, a look of doubt flashed in her eyes.

She is very confident in her restaurant, including the chefs, whose cooking skills were trained by her personally.

Why has the number of customers in the restaurant decreased instead of increased recently?

Puzzled, Song Qianning went to the restaurant in person to check the situation.

The restaurant, which is usually packed with customers, now has only a few tables occupied in the lobby, not even half of the number of people that used to be there.

The waiters at the restaurant all looked worried: "Princess, you're here."

After asking the waiters about the restaurant's recent business situation, Song Qianning personally went to the kitchen to taste the food.

He found that the cooking skills of several chefs had not declined, which made him even more confused.

She walked out of the kitchen, secretly wondering in her heart, when she suddenly heard a commotion coming from the front and the embarrassed voice of the restaurant waiter.

Frowning, Song Qianning quickly walked towards the lobby and called a waiter: "What happened?"

The waiter had a sad face: "Someone just now..."

From the waiter's crying, Song Qianning realized that someone had just brought food with bugs in it, saying that they found bugs in the food and wanted the restaurant to give an explanation.

The noise I heard in the back was also because of this.

After learning what had happened, she looked up and saw a fat nanny with a plump figure.

The clothes she wore were made of silk, and the food box in her hand was different from ordinary food boxes. She must be a nanny from a wealthy family.

After the fat nanny discovered Song Qianning's presence, she immediately shifted her fire from the waiter to her.

"Oh, the Regent Princess is finally here. I thought you were going to be a coward today."

Amidst the fat nanny's shrill voice, Song Qianning narrowed her eyes and took a few steps forward: "You said there are bugs in the food in our restaurant?"

"That's right!" The fat nanny raised her chin and slammed the food box in her hand on the table, her fat face full of arrogance.

"She's the Princess Regent, and yet she's trying to trick guests with food infested with bugs. Do you really think the guests are blind?"

Because of the fat nanny's loud voice, a group of people had gathered at the door of the restaurant. They were all people who came to watch the fun and were peeking inside.

While looking, he whispered to himself.

Someone even shouted loudly: "There's no point in talking so much here, just report it to the police."

Especially some people who had eaten in the restaurant before, either shouted bad things about the restaurant or urged the fat nanny to report to the police.

Ignoring the noise outside, Song Qianning looked at the fat nanny, her expression calm and without any sign of nervousness, as if she was not the one being targeted.

The fat nanny glared at Song Qianning and raised her voice even more: "I'm telling you, if you don't give me an explanation today, this matter will not be over. Don't think that I'm afraid of you just because you're the Regent Princess."

Ignoring the fat nanny's shouting, she asked, "Which family are you from?"

Hearing her question, the fat nanny straightened her chest and said arrogantly: "I am a servant in the Prime Minister's Mansion."

His eyes were squeezed together, the fat on his body was trembling, and his face showed unconcealable arrogance and pride.

"So he's a servant from the Prime Minister's Mansion." Song Qianning nodded thoughtfully.

She smiled, her tone calm, "Madam, don't worry. If this is true, I will definitely give you an explanation."

"Of course, the premise is that the food was purchased from a restaurant, and the bugs were also the restaurant's fault."

Hearing this, the fat nanny's eyes widened like copper bells: "Why, could I have deliberately lied to you?"

"I didn't say that." Song Qianning's tone remained unchanged: "Please wait a moment, Madam."

After she finished speaking, she turned around and called the waiter.

"Princess, what are your instructions?"

"Go get the restaurant's latest purchase list."

The waiter responded and ran behind the counter, taking out a booklet.

Taking the booklet from the waiter's hand, Song Qianning opened it in front of the fat nanny.

Seeing her actions, the fat nanny said impatiently, "I'm here to ask for an explanation, not to watch you flip through a book. Don't think you can deny it just because you're wasting time."

Blocking her words, Song Qianning flipped the booklet from the first page to the middle before looking up at the fat nanny.

"I looked through the purchase records for the past three days. Until three days ago, there was no record of purchases from the Prime Minister's Mansion, and the servants from the Prime Minister's Mansion had never been to the restaurant."

She opened the booklet and placed it on the table. She looked intently at the fat nanny across from her, "Any customer who purchased from the restaurant will have a record in the booklet."

"What a mess." Fat Mammy said impatiently, "Don't try to change the subject."

"I never change the subject." Noticing the impatience on the fat nanny's face, Song Qianning smiled and said, "Please tell me, nanny, where did your Prime Minister's Mansion buy the food from?"

"I will explain to you after Madam tells me where you bought the food."

The fat nanny's smile froze, and a flash of panic flashed across her eyes, then quickly disappeared.

The chubby face became even more arrogant: "How I buy food from the restaurant is none of your business."

Not frightened at all by the ferocious tone of the fat nanny, Song Qianning smiled slightly and said apologetically, "If you can't tell me where you bought the food, I'm afraid I can't give you an explanation."

"I, I..." After a long pause, the fat nanny finally said, "I asked someone to buy it from your restaurant."

"I asked someone to buy it..." Song Qianning stretched out the tone of the last word: "I wonder who the person is that Madam asked me to buy it, so I can see if the records match."

Unexpectedly, after answering one question, another one would come up. The fat nanny hesitated but couldn't say the name of the person she had entrusted.

Seeing her hesitation, Song Qianning's eyes flashed with sarcasm: "Why is Mammy silent? Or does Mammy not even know the name of the person she entrusted?"

Driven to a standstill by her barrage of questions, the fat nanny glared at her fiercely, "Who am I supposed to be in charge of? You're just deliberately confusing everyone and trying to shirk responsibility!"
