Chapter 15: There are three kinds of unfilial behavior, the worst is to have no descendants
"There are three types of unfilial behavior, and the worst is to have no descendants. You are letting down the ancestors of the Gu family by doing this." The second aunt immediately found the fault of the two.
Gu Rongyu smiled calmly again, "Aunt, I'm not afraid of you laughing at me. I don't even know where I'm from, so how can I talk about ancestors? If Xixi feels lonely, she can adopt the children of the eldest or second brother. She won't have to go through the pain of childbirth."
If Chang Xixi hadn't known that Gu Rongyu was helping her out, she would have been so moved that she would have burst into tears. He seemed to talk more than before.
At night, Chang Xixi couldn't sleep while lying in bed. She stared at the back in the dark and whispered thank you.
Gu Rongyu was slightly stunned. She didn't expect that the arrogant Chang Xixi would thank people. She nodded and asked her to close her eyes and go to sleep.
Chang Xixi muttered something, saying that she was not greedy for his body. She pulled the quilt and turned her back to sleep.
Hearing the breathing sound behind him, Gu Rongyu opened his eyes and called Chang Xixi's name several times, but heard no complete response. He quietly got up and walked into a dense forest in the moonlight.
The black shadow also came over, "Master, it's been a long time since we practiced together."
Gu Rongyu casually picked up a branch and held it in his hand. His eyes lit up as he looked at the black shadow. Apart from his cheeks being a little pale, he didn't look sick at all.
The black shadow drew out the soft knife from his waist, and the silver light flashed in the moonlight. Suddenly, the knife light and the shadow of the tree appeared. After an hour, the black shadow fell to the ground exhausted and begged for mercy repeatedly.
"Young Master, I can't do it anymore. Please spare me! Let's fight again another day. If it doesn't work, I'll let my brothers come to accompany you. Please don't torture me anymore."
"Sleep on the roof from now on."
It turned out that she was waiting for him here. The young master already had a wife, and he knew how to protect his daughter and avoid suspicion. He agreed immediately, and this way he could have a feast.
Gu Rongyu seemed to know what he was thinking, "You can't leave even a step before I wake up."
The shadow was so sad that he couldn't even cry. That was enough! He compromised directly because he could see the women quarreling every day. As the sky brightened, the shadow woke up Gu Rongyu who was meditating, "It's time."
Gu Rongyu put on his clothes and headed towards the Chang family. Unfortunately, he ran into Dou as she was leaving the house and was almost discovered.
As soon as he walked into the room, Chang Xixi woke up and stared at him with her dark eyes, "You woke up so early?"
"I went to lie down in the toilet."
"oh."
Chang Xixi rubbed her eyes. She had to find a chance to go to the space to take out the spiritual spring, and then find a chance to let her second brother and Gu Rongyu drink it.
She suddenly looked up at Gu Rongyu and unconsciously reached out to touch his face, which was soft and smooth. "You look better. It seems to be working. Very good."
Gu Rongyu didn't think it was wrong. The dark shadow on the beam was extremely anxious. "Young Master! How can you let a woman touch your face casually? Madam, you are being a hooligan."
"What helps?"
"Nothing." Chang Xixi was afraid that Gu Rongyu would know her little secret. "The food at home is good, and your complexion is better. It seems that eating well is very useful."
After saying that, Chang Xixi put on her clothes guiltily and went out. She opened the door and poked her head out, telling Gu Rong to wait for her to boil water and make tea.
The black shadow was very dissatisfied. He was originally irreplaceable, but now he felt the crisis of being abandoned by the young master.
Today, Second Auntie returned to the city because of some incident at the cloth shop. In the village, the gossipy villagers dared not say anything more.
After her usual brawl with the self-proclaimed learned scholars at the bookshop, she rose to fame. Inside the bookshop, stories of her charisma filled the air, and some even thought Scholar Gu was lucky to have married such a righteous wife.
Chang Xixi was shocked by Gu Rongyu's speed in copying books. He could easily finish a book a day and still have time to read the Four Books and Five Classics at his leisure.
One day, he went into the city to deliver the copied books. On the way back to the city, he saw a jewelry store. He walked in as if possessed and picked out a hairpin.
The shadow felt the danger and shrank back, "Young Master, you can't do that."
"Why?"
"Young Master, why don't you ask how much this hairpin costs before deciding whether to buy it or not." The black shadow changed into ordinary guard clothes, but he still wore a black veil covering his face.
Gu Rongyu asked the shopkeeper how much the hairpin cost. The shopkeeper said it would cost ten taels of silver because it was made of pure gold and the carving took a lot of effort.
"Give me money."
After saying this, Gu Rongyu didn't even turn his head. He asked the black shadow to pay and then asked the store owner to directly wrap it up with a piece of cloth so that no one could see the value of the hairpin.
The black shadow followed Gu Rongyu chatteringly, watching him get on the ox cart and head towards Wanfu Village. He then caught up with him on horseback a quarter of an hour later.
The moment before Gu Rongyu stepped into the Chang family's door, he put the hairpin into his bag and quickly sneaked into the room through the window.
Chang Xixi was hanging out clothes to dry. "Why did you come back so early today? I'll go get you some water." In order to help Gu Rongyu get better quickly, she would add a drop of spiritual spring water every time Gu Rongyu drank water.
"Come inside with me."
Chang Xixi put down the clothes that were drying and wiped her hands, "Mom, come and dry the clothes."
Dou took the maid in her hand and glanced at Gu Rongyu who had just returned from the city, and nodded in approval. Second Aunt was unhappy to see Chang Xixi ordering Dou around like this.
She is already married, but she still eats and drinks for free at home, and she also lives at home with a child. My eldest brother and his wife don't say that she is their biological daughter, but she is half a mother to my aunt.
Gu Rongyu asked Chang Xixi to close the door. She gently knocked on the door, feeling that Gu Rongyu was acting mysterious and strange today.
