0020 Appreciation

0020 Appreciation

The woman on the screen, head bowed and earnestly reporting her work, wore a dark purple suit with a matching flower brooch on her chest. Her long, wavy hair was styled in a bun, giving her a formal and dignified appearance.

Tantai Qing's attention was initially focused on her face, but he belatedly noticed that she was wearing a rather extravagant pair of gold earrings, which, combined with the lack of hair to cover her face, made her face appear even smaller than a palm.

Her tone of voice was somewhat like that of a news anchor on CCTV, clear and articulate, with intonation, yet it didn't sound forced, making it very pleasant to listen to.

Tantai Qing guessed that she might have studied broadcasting.

"This girl is quite pretty," Cheng Jing remarked casually, following his gaze.

Tantai Qing didn't respond, focusing intently on the computer screen.

Midway through, she paused for a moment and quickly said, "Excuse me, please wait a moment."

Then she turned her head and coughed lightly twice, her fist pressed against her mouth, probably because she couldn't resist the itch in her throat.

"Okay, let's continue."

She quickly returned to normal and continued reporting on her work.

During the interview, Jiang Jifan answered questions from several superiors calmly and methodically.

She was calm and composed, answered questions fluently, and her powerful aura was convincing.

Although he had already witnessed her work ability before, seeing it in person again this time made him appreciate her even more.

One shareholder praised her, saying she had a kind of charisma that was not expected of someone in her current position, and joked with other senior executives that they should give her a raise.

Jiang Jifan smiled shyly upon hearing this, the two dimples beside her red lips adding a touch of sweetness to her bright and mature face.

Tantai Qing did not look away until the video conference ended.

Over there, Jiang Jifan tidied up the documents on the conference table and was about to get up and leave when someone called out to him.

She turned around at the sound and saw a girl with a baby face standing at the door, her eyes sparkling like stars, waving excitedly at her.

Jiang Jifan looked around and confirmed that she was greeting him. He was a little confused, but he still walked over.

As I got closer, I realized that the face in front of me looked familiar, but I couldn't remember where I had seen it before.

The girl in front of her was rather short, a head shorter than her even though she was wearing high heels. She was looking up at her with undisguised surprise on her face, and pointed to herself, saying, "Senior! It's me, Li Man!"

Li Man?

Suddenly, the image of the little girl who always followed behind him with sparkling eyes during his university days flashed into Jiang Jifan's mind.

"It's you, Xiao Liman." She chuckled softly, reverting to the way she used to address her. "Long time no see, you've become even more beautiful."

She tried to cover up her embarrassment at not recognizing the girl in front of her at first glance in another way.

But Li Man didn't mind at all. Instead, she said with great surprise, "You still remember me, senior."

It's hard to forget someone. Jiang Jifan hasn't forgotten how she chased after him like a star during her university days, her bright eyes always filled with admiration for him.

"Senior, are you still using the same WeChat account as before?" Li Man said that she had sent her many messages before, but never received a response.

She looked disappointed.

Jiang Jifan hadn't expected this, and quickly explained, "I'm sorry, I haven't used that WeChat account for a long time."

"Then, can I add your new WeChat now, senior?" Li Man looked at her eagerly, unable to hide her anticipation.

Jiang Jifan looked at the girl in front of him who was asking the question cautiously, and thought she was still as cute as before. He nodded and smiled, saying, "Of course."

Later, Li Man invited her to have coffee, and Jiang Jifan did not refuse, treating it as a friendly chat between long-lost friends.

"Senior, you and..."

Jiang Jifan paused when he heard that name that hadn't been mentioned in a long time, then casually put down his cup and said with a faint smile, "I'm single."

"Ah..." Li Man looked very regretful.

So, it was still affected by that incident after all?

Seeing that she didn't seem keen on mentioning the third person, Li Man wisely refrained from asking further questions.

Knowing that she is now a middle manager in a Fortune 500 company, Li Man made no attempt to hide her admiration: "Senior, you've always been so cool. I knew you'd shine wherever you are!"

Jiang Jifan smiled modestly and replied sincerely, "You too. I believe you will shine brightly in your field of expertise in the future."
