0078 Lost Card

0078 Lost Card

"Dear customer: Your account ending in xxxx successfully completed a transfer transaction to the customer ending in xxxx at 23:00 on x month x day, 202x, amounting to RMB -2,500,000.00."

Jiang Jifan received this message after taking a shower. At first, she thought it was a prank, but when she opened her mobile banking app to check her account balance and saw that the balance was 0, she was immediately stunned.

Because of the large amount in her card, she usually doesn't use that bank card; she uses a different salary card for online payments.

"What happened..." Jiang Jifan started to panic, recalling the times he had used that bank card during this period, while rummaging through drawers and cabinets looking for the card that had mysteriously disappeared from his bag.

But after searching the house several times, Jiang Jifan still couldn't find the bank card. He was so anxious that he was about to cry.

Tantai Qing was in a multinational conference in his study. She didn't dare to go in and disturb him, so she could only search for the bank's customer service number on Baidu with trembling hands.

She wasn't sure if it was because it was outside of working hours, but no one answered her calls after several attempts.

As time went by, she became increasingly anxious, and even began to recall the people she had recently come into contact with.

“Jiang Jiping…” She suddenly remembered that he had come to City B a while ago. She was wondering why he would come to City B out of the blue, and that she had even met with him.

Jiang Jifan has a habit: because she's afraid of forgetting her passwords, all her passwords, including her bank card passwords, are the same. And the only person who knows this is Jiang Jiping.

Because she had never encountered anything like this before, she was clinging to a sense of luck, always believing that she would never run into such a terrible situation. But now, the seriousness of the situation has exceeded her imagination.

"Jiang Jiping, did you take my bank card?!" As soon as the other party answered the phone, Jiang Jifan's first words were a accusation.

Jiang Jiping remained silent for a moment, as if he had anticipated her rage, and calmly said, "Don't worry, I will pay you back."

Upon hearing his admission, Jiang Jifan's legs went weak, and he almost collapsed. Barely managing to steady himself, he gritted his teeth and said, "Give it back to me? What makes you think you can give it back to me?!"

"Jiang Jiping, you bastard! You even steal your own sister's money! Are you even human?!" She stomped her feet and yelled hysterically at the person on the phone, her eyes red and her expression frantic.

"What did you do with my card? Where's my money? Give me back my money!" She was teetering on the brink of collapse, gradually becoming incoherent, shouting and yelling regardless of whether the other person responded or not, looking like a madwoman who wanted to destroy the world.

"Tsk, damn it... I already said I would pay it back!" Jiang Jiping said impatiently, and then immediately hung up the phone.

She was unaware that he had hung up the phone and was still hurling insults at him.

"I want it back right now! You fucking give it back to me!" Jiang Jifan shouted angrily, crying, "If you don't give it back to me, I'll kill you! Kill you!"

"Did you hear me, Jiang Jiping! Jiang Jiping, speak up!"

She belatedly moved her phone away, and when she saw the end of the call screen, she completely broke down. She swept everything off the vanity mirror, shattering her expensive cosmetics all over the floor.

Tantai Qing, who was in the middle of a conversation, suddenly stopped.

"Tan, what's going on?" In the video, an elderly man with white hair saw him suddenly stop, looking thoughtful, and asked in confusion.

The woman's shrill curses and the sound of breaking things could be faintly heard. Tantai Qing frowned, feeling uneasy.

“I’m sorry, Mr. Smith, but I think I have something very important to take care of right now.” He looked up at the old man in the video and apologized.

"I hope to see you again next time, if possible."

Smith could tell that he had something urgent to deal with immediately, so he nodded in agreement and ended the meeting.
