0086 Going Crazy
Jiang Jifan propped himself up from the ground, stiffly turned his head to look at him, his eyes filled with disbelief.
"Jiang Jiping, how dare you hit me?" she said, her lips trembling, her eyes already turning bloodshot without her realizing it.
Jiang Jifan had never been humiliated like this before. Even Yao Man, when she was at her angrier, never laid a hand on her.
Jiang Jiping's jaw tightened, filled with remorse, yet he couldn't utter a single word of apology. He could only watch helplessly as she flew into a rage, throwing everything within reach at him.
"Jiang Jiping, you bastard! Do you think someone was supporting your wife and kids during those years when you were broke?" Jiang Jifan raised the vase and smashed it hard in his direction without any mercy, accusing him furiously.
"Crack! Crash!" The glass vase shattered on the floor.
"It's me! It's me, Jiang Jifan!" she shouted, pointing to her chest. She was so angry that she felt like she was about to explode. Her blood rushed to her head, her ears burned, and her face turned red.
"Which of your wives' and children's living expenses wasn't paid for by me? How could you, a good-for-nothing bastard like you, afford to support them?"
Jiang Jifan rushed forward, pointed at his forehead, and laughed angrily: "Now look what you've done, you've got guts now, you even dare to lay a hand on me."
"This family is nothing without me!"
"Anyway, you don't care about that meager sibling bond. At worst, I'll kill you today and pay with my life tomorrow. We'll all die and that'll be the end of it!"
When Yu Diandian saw that she was about to turn around and go to the kitchen to get a cleaver, she was so frightened that her legs went weak. She quickly dragged her limp legs to hug her and pleaded in a trembling voice, "Jifan, don't do this..."
Then he turned back to Jiang Jiping, who was standing there motionless, and shouted, "Jiping, you should leave now!"
"Don't stop me! I'm going to kill him today!" Jiang Jifan shouted hoarsely, his expression crazed.
Yu Diandian was short and weak, and no match for her. In no time, she managed to break free and run into the kitchen.
Seeing that she couldn't stop her, and fearing that someone would really die on the spot, she cried as she opened the door and pushed Jiang Jiping out, pleading, "Please go, go!"
Then, without saying a word, she slammed the door shut, blocking him out.
Jiang Jifan drew his knife and came out, only to find the man had already vanished. Still not satisfied, he cursed, "Jiang Jiping, you coward! You have the guts to hit people but not the guts to take a knife. You better not get caught by me next time, or I'll definitely chop you into pieces and boil you to feed the dogs!"
Yu Diandian had been married into their family for so many years, and she had never seen such a display of power. Although she knew that neither of the siblings were easy to mess with, she did not expect her to be so crazy. She was so frightened that she slumped against the door, looking at her crazy side with fear and helplessness, tears streaming down her face.
Jiang Jifan caught a glimpse of her sitting on the ground, looking terrified. He turned away in annoyance, went into the kitchen, and slammed the cleaver onto the cutting board.
"Bang!" She slammed the door shut.
Once the room was completely quiet, Jiang Mingting, who had been eavesdropping on their argument, quietly pushed open the door and came out.
"Mom, are you alright?" She rushed over and hugged Yu Diandian, feeling sorry for her.
Yu Diandian shook her head, still feeling a lingering fear, and hugged her tightly in her arms.
Jiang Jifan returned to his room, growing angrier and more aggrieved as he thought about it.
Despite the siblings' discord, Jiang Jiping had never laid a hand on her over the years, mostly letting her scold him. Perhaps today had truly touched a nerve.
The thought that her brother, who used to dote on her and obey her every whim, had now turned into a bastard who hit her, brought tears to Jiang Jifan's eyes instantly.
She curled up on the bed, like a child who had been bullied and had nowhere to confide in, not daring to cry out loud, but only pursing her lips tightly and weeping silently.
She wished so much that someone would be there to comfort her, even just pat her on the shoulder or say a few words.
It was as if heaven had heard her heartfelt wish; after she had been crying for nearly ten minutes, the phone rang quietly.
