"Be careful on the road..."
As soon as Xu Zhengyan stepped into the company building, he heard a familiar voice.
Turning around, I saw Jiang Jifan, dressed in a purple fitted long dress, standing next to a Cullinan, waving to the man in the driver's seat with a smile.
That person must have brought her to work.
Xu Zhengyan stood at the door, gazing at her figure in the distance, his heart filled with complex emotions.
Seeing that she was about to turn around and walk away, he quickly looked away, afraid that she would notice him, and left first.
I don't know where they got the news that Tang Yujin and Xu Zhengyan were officially promoted today, but as soon as Qu Mei and the others arrived at the office, they started making a fuss about them treating everyone to a meal.
"Of course we have to treat the guests. We just started working here and don't know anything. We are very grateful for the care we received from our older brothers and sisters..." Tang Yujin immediately chimed in, beaming with joy.
"You're such a sweet talker," Chen Xun said with a smile, glancing at her.
Compared to the lively and cheerful Tang Yujin, Xu Zhengyan appears to be more reserved and introverted.
Tang Yujin said he would treat them to pizza for lunch, so he couldn't just stand by and do nothing. He then offered to drink everyone's drinks.
Some people said they wanted milk tea, and some said they wanted coffee. Xu Zhengyan simply asked them to post the new products they wanted in the work group so that it would be easier to collect the information.
"Sister Ji Fan, what would you like to drink?" Seeing that she hadn't sent a message in the group chat, Xu Zheng knocked on her door and went into her office to ask.
Jiang Jifan was busy looking at the form and replied without looking up, "I'd like a cup of coffee, please."
"Do you have any dietary restrictions, Sister Jifan?" he asked cautiously.
"No." She glanced up at him and chuckled softly at his cautious expression. "You can order whatever you like. I'll drink it all anyway."
Even though she didn't seem to say anything, Xu Zhengyan couldn't help but fall for her bright face with her smiling eyes and sharp canine teeth, and was so captivated that he felt dizzy.
So much so that he later forgot how he left the office.
"Hey, could you get me that iced Americano over there?"
During lunch break, Tang Yujin and the others received their takeout, and everyone left their workstations to find their respective drinks.
When Jiang Jifan returned from the restroom, they had already started eating.
"Jifan, come sit here." Chen Xun was holding a slice of pizza. When she saw her return, she ate her food and greeted her.
Jiang Jifan walked over and sat down next to her. He glanced at the delicious food that almost covered the table and laughed, "It's so lavish, it seems I don't need to eat dinner tonight."
"Sister Jiang, here you go." Tang Yujin handed her a disposable glove, her smile bright and her voice clear: "Sister Jiang, you work so hard, you should eat more!"
Xu Zhengyan stood up and handed the coffee to her, "Sister Ji Fan, here's your coffee."
"Thank you." She took it, opened it, and took a sip.
Chen Xun, with her sharp eyes, immediately noticed that the coffee in her hand was a new product from a certain brand, and said, "Wow, this is a new product? It's so expensive, I wouldn't even dare to drink it myself..."
Then he glanced at Xu Zhengyan with a smile and teased, "Zhengyan, you're quite biased, aren't you?"
Jiang Jifan paused slightly, then looked down at the cup of coffee in front of him. The coffee's name was a rather awkward English name.
Nine out of ten people in the office are gossipy; they come here just by the smell.
"What's the big deal? If I were a man, and Sister Jiang is so beautiful, I'd buy a few more cups," Qu Mei said nonchalantly, swallowing the food in her mouth.
"Zhengyan, don't you think so?"
Xu Zhengyan was surprised that they had suddenly brought up this topic, and his heart tightened.
He was never good with words to begin with, and now, faced with everyone's teasing, he felt even more guilty and flustered, unsure of how to respond.
He was only worried about how to deal with it, unaware that his shy side had already been completely exposed in front of the person he liked.
Jiang Jifan looked at his ears, which were as red as cooked shrimp, and felt a strange unease in her heart. However, before she could delve into it, she spoke up to help him out, saying, "What? I've been leading people for several months now, after all."
Then he held the coffee to Chen Xun's lips and teased, "Looking at you, if you want to drink it, I'll let you have a sip."
Chen Xun didn't dare to actually drink it. She hesitated for a moment, then smiled and refused, "Alright, I won't drink it."
Seeing that everyone had changed the subject, Xu Zhengyan, who was standing to the side, breathed a sigh of relief.
He cast a grateful glance at Jiang Jifan, and the next second, he saw her smile at him.
Xu Zhengyan appeared calm on the surface, pursing his lips, but inside, his heart was churning with turbulent waves.
He seems to like her more now.
While working in the afternoon, Jiang Jifan was typing on the keyboard when, for some reason, she suddenly recalled what Tantai Qing had said to her.
The boy's shy and embarrassed appearance resurfaced in my mind.
She frowned almost imperceptibly.
About half a minute later, she shook her head again.
Jiang Jifan reassured himself that she was probably overthinking things.
