0113 Disturbance

0113 Disturbance

After dropping off Jiang Jifan, Tantai Qing felt extremely tired as his mind relaxed. Realizing that he was not in a good state to work today, he returned home the way he came.

Just as he got home, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally answered the call.

"Hello."

"Taiqing, I'm sorry. I had a few drinks that day and my mind wasn't quite right. I'm very sorry for the trouble I caused you."

Seeing that he didn't speak, Qiao Xianzhi hesitated for a moment before cautiously asking, "Is your girlfriend angry?"

"I'm really sorry, I can go and explain to her if needed..."

"No need," Tantai Qing interrupted.

"It's understandable that she's angry. I've already asked for her forgiveness, so you don't need to bother her anymore."

Seeking his help? Qiao Xianzhi's heart skipped a beat; she hadn't expected him to be so humble in front of others...

It seems that woman holds a significant place in his heart.

This came as a complete surprise to her.

Logically speaking, he shouldn't have valued this relationship so much, which she considered like "a pastime."

Qiao Xianzhi tightened her grip on the phone, and after a long while, she said softly, "Okay, Taiqing, I'll do whatever you say."

Tantai Qing disliked her always saying ambiguous things. Hearing this, he frowned and said directly, "Xianzhi, I have always regarded you as a friend. If there is nothing else, let's try not to contact each other in the future."

She seemed to have heard something unbelievable and was deeply hurt by his words. She said in a pitiful tone, "Taiqing, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to."

"Is your girlfriend still angry? If so, I think I need to talk to her in person and make things clear..."

Tantai Qing respected women, but that did not mean he was ignorant.

Men are sometimes even more sensitive to these things than women, and as for those men who "know nothing," he thinks they are mostly just pretending to be stupid.

He understood Qiao Xianzhi's thoughts at a glance.

He took off his glasses, pinched the bridge of his nose, and walked towards the bedroom, trying his best to control his agitation. He said calmly, "Xianzhi, I told you, you don't need to bother her anymore. This matter ends here."

After saying that, he hung up the phone before she could say anything more.

Qiao Xianzhi stared at the disconnected phone, speechless, then laughed incredulously.

Tantai Qing was a well-known gentleman. In the past, whenever the two talked on the phone, no matter how busy the other person was, she was always the one who hung up first.

When he hung up on her for the first time, Qiao Xianzhi felt uncomfortable at first, and then a sense of frustration and disappointment gradually rose in her heart.

It seems she really misjudged the woman's place in his heart this time.

After pondering for a long time, a person suddenly popped into Qiao Xianzhi's mind.

After a moment, she smiled again.

"Madam, Miss Qiao has arrived."

The weather was nice today, and Dong Lijun had nothing to do, so after lunch she went to the garden to prune the newly grown flowers and plants.

"Xianzhi? Why is she here?" Upon hearing the report, she put down the scissors in surprise.

"Miss Qiao, please have some tea."

Qiao Xianzhi took the teacup from the table, took a graceful sip, and smiled gently, "Thank you, Aunt Lin. After all these years, your tea-making skills are still so good."

Upon hearing this, Aunt Lin laughed so hard that her face wrinkled into a deep knot.

“Xianzhi”.

Upon hearing the voice, Qiao Xianzhi looked towards the person approaching and saw Dong Lijun, dressed in a jade-green cheongsam, slowly walking towards her accompanied by a maid. She immediately stood up to greet her.

"Aunt Dong, it's been a long time. I just got home a few days ago and realized I hadn't seen you in a while, so I thought I'd come and visit. How are you and Uncle Dan doing?"

Dong Lijun had always liked her, and upon hearing this, she nodded and said kindly, "Your Uncle Dan and I are doing well."

"Xianzhi, why did you suddenly come back to China? What are your plans for the future?"

Qiao Xianzhi smiled shyly at first, "As you know, my parents have always been concerned about my marriage, and in recent years they have been urging me to get married."

"I've been abroad for so many years and I miss everything about home. I didn't want my parents to worry about me all the time, so I decided to come back."

“I see.” Dong Lijun said knowingly, and then added, “Your mother told me the other day that if you and Taiqing hadn’t separated back then, she would be a grandson by now.”

These words were exactly what she wanted to hear.

Qiao Xianzhi feigned sorrow and sighed softly, "I was immature back then. If I had handled the relationship between Tai Qing and me properly, maybe..."

Knowing that it was her son who initiated their breakup, Dong Lijun immediately comforted him, saying, "How can you blame yourself? Auntie knows that Taiqing was just being immature back then."

"Auntie has always liked you the most. If I had known back then, I would never have let you two separate."

Then, remembering something, she asked her, "By the way, have you met Tai Ching?"

"I've met him. I even had dinner with him yesterday." Qiao Xianzhi lied without batting an eye, as if everything had happened.

Dong Lijun was surprised that the two had met and eaten together. After carefully considering the purpose of her visit today, she guessed that she might still have feelings for Tantai Qing. So she said, "That's how it should be. You grew up together and know each other very well. Now that you've returned to China, you can't let the past cause a rift between you and Taiqing. You should keep in touch more often."

Qiao Xian nodded in agreement.

After chatting for about ten minutes, she casually asked with a smile, "Auntie, I heard that Tai Qing has a girlfriend. Did you know about this?"
