0134 Settling Accounts (Second Update)

During a break, the receptionist bent down and took a picture of her new manicure from yesterday for her friend. She smiled smugly at her friend's praise and was about to reply when she suddenly heard a few soft sounds above her head.

Someone is coming.

Fortunately, she had already gained experience from slacking off. She calmly put her phone down, stood up, and gave a standard toothy smile.

"Hello, sir, how can I help you?"

The man lifted his eyelids and glanced at her indifferently, his voice cold: "I want to see Jiang Qiyuan."

The receptionist stared at his handsome face, momentarily stunned, before finally realizing, "You...you want to see our chairman?"

"yes."

This was the first time she had encountered someone addressing the chairman by his full name. The receptionist found it strange, but didn't say anything openly. She simply went through the motions and asked him, "Do you have a letter of request for a meeting?"

"No."

The man frowned impatiently, not expecting it to be so troublesome to see him.

"May I ask your surname? And what brings you here today?" the receptionist asked, quickly dialing a number.

He uttered a curt reply: "Jiang Jiping, it's a private matter."

"Yes, he said his name is Jiang Jiping..." The receptionist paused halfway through her recitation, then looked up at him with a surprised expression.

The person on the other end of the phone seemed to be saying a lot, and she listened and nodded.

Jiang Jiping lowered his eyes and stood still, patiently waiting for her to confirm.

After confirming the details, the receptionist hung up the phone and smiled at him, saying, "Mr. Jiang, we have completed the confirmation. Someone will come to take you to the chairman's office shortly. Please wait a moment."

He didn't have to wait long; after about five minutes, a young man who looked like an assistant came to the front desk to greet him.

"Hello, I am Lin Pingyan, the chairman's special assistant."

Jiang Jiping didn't look at him directly throughout the entire process, completely ignoring his self-introduction, and his expression was distant and indifferent.

Seeing this, Lin Pingyan awkwardly withdrew his smile and resumed his most professional demeanor, respectfully leading the way as if receiving a distinguished guest.

Jiang Jiwang was originally consulting with Jiang Qiyuan in the office, but he didn't know what the secretary said to his father. He was shocked at first, and then he couldn't help but feel happy.

But when he asked what had happened, he refused to give the truth, only saying that an old friend was coming to visit.

Jiang Jiwang, though somewhat regretful, still sensibly got up to say goodbye before he could finish asking his questions.

As they reached the door, Lin Pingyan brought the person up, and they met face to face.

The other person was not the successful businessman he had imagined. He was a younger man dressed in dark clothes with a cold face, giving people a strangely familiar feeling.

"Young Master Jiang," Lin Pingyan greeted him politely.

This must be the son he had with that woman.

Upon realizing this fact, Jiang Jiping's expression instantly turned cold, and his already stern face became even more sharp.

Sensing the unfriendly aura emanating from him, Lin Pingyan quickly made an excuse, saying, "Chairman, you've been waiting too long, let's go inside."

After they went inside, Jiang Jiwang stood there, lost in thought.

Jiang Qiyuan instructed his secretary to remove the tea and even replace the tea set with a new blue and white porcelain tea set.

When the tall figure came into view, his emotions clearly became excited, and his eyes burst with uncontrollable joy.

“Jiping, you…”

Unfortunately, before he could take a step, Jiang Jiping had already stepped forward and punched him in the face.

"ah!!"

The secretary standing to the side covered her mouth and screamed in shock.

When Jiang Jiwang heard the noise and ran back, he saw this chaotic scene—

The young man who had just entered was now straddling his father, acting like a rabid dog, his punches becoming increasingly vicious, and he was uttering words he couldn't understand.

"Dad!" He was startled and immediately rushed forward to try to rescue his father, who was being pinned down by the man.

But he was no match for Jiang Jiping, who had spent years mingling in the streets and was known for his fierce and warlike nature. In the end, he not only failed to help Jiang Jiping, but was also slapped in the face by him.

Jiang Jiwang had never been slapped before in his life, and the other party was so strong that he was momentarily dizzy and disoriented, his mind buzzing.

In the chaos, someone shouted, "What are you standing there for! Go call security!"

Jiang Jifan received the notification from the police station at 2 PM.

"You've gone too far! Even if my dad did something wrong, you shouldn't have resorted to violence so easily!"

When she arrived, Jiang Jiwang's stern reprimand could be heard coming from inside.

"Otherwise what? Do you expect me to take your orders?" Jiang Jiping leaned back casually in his chair, his eyelids half-open, a sarcastic smile playing on his lips. His arrogant demeanor made him look nothing like a prisoner being interrogated.

"Well done!"

Everyone turned around and saw Jiang Jifan walking quickly towards them, wearing a light purple silk dress.

"How do you want to handle this?" She stood next to Jiang Jiping, looked at Jiang Jiwang, and said in an unfriendly tone.

"Lock him up and detain him for ten or twenty days?" Jiang Jifan sneered, his eyes sharp. "Or should he commit suicide to atone for your father's sins?"

Her words were too harsh; Jiang Jiwang hadn't meant it that way at all, and was speechless for a moment after being choked by her words.

“He started it. My dad is still in the hospital. No matter what, this matter cannot be left like this.” He was an extremely protective person. Seeing his father, who had always loved him, being beaten to this extent by his so-called “brother,” Jiang Jiwang was understandably furious.

Jiang Jifan understood that he was not going to give up, so he decided to fight him to the end and pulled up a chair to sit down next to Jiang Jiping.

"So, what do you want?"

Just as the two sides were deadlocked, Lin Pingyan arrived at the scene and explained the situation to the police officer in charge.

"Officer, I'm so sorry, this is just a family matter..."

Jiang Jiwang's eyes widened in disapproval of his actions, and she turned around to say to him, "Assistant Lin, how could you..."

But then he saw him wink at him.

He immediately fell silent.

Finally, with Lin Pingyan's mediation, Jiang Jiwang decided not to pursue the matter further.

However, he still harbored resentment, and as soon as he left the police station, he asked him, "Assistant Lin, why did you do that just now?"

"It was the chairman's order," Lin Pingyan said helplessly.

Even though Jiang Jiwang had already guessed the answer in his heart, he still couldn't help but feel frustrated and distressed when he heard it with his own ears.

"You've had your fight, and I'm sure you've vented your anger enough. I've bought you a ticket back; leave this afternoon. Don't cause me any more trouble!"

Jiang Jiping followed slowly behind her, enduring her angry scolding as usual, without saying a word.

Only after she had finished venting did he ask, "What did he say to you?"

He had only learned of Jiang Qiyuan's appearance two days ago. Knowing that Jiang Qiyuan still dared to come looking for Jiang Jifan, Jiang Jiping immediately rushed to City B.

For over twenty years, he had cursed Jiang Qiyuan countless times, wishing him to be torn to pieces, ripped to pieces, and leave no trace of his body...

How could a man who had been cursed with every evil curse in the world dare to appear so openly in front of them now?

Today was just the first account he settled with him.

Jiang Jifan paused, turned to look at him, and said firmly, "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten."

"Those who betray will never have a good end."

These were the words Jiang Jiping said to her when she was only seven years old. It was then that she realized that the man called "Father" had completely abandoned them.

Jiang Jiping looked at her calmly, as if he were seeing the little girl with puffed-out cheeks repeating his words more than twenty years ago, and then lowered his head and chuckled softly.

"Go back to where you are, I don't have time for you."

"knew."
