"etc."

Chi Wei and his group had already turned and entered the store when they heard the sound behind them. He immediately stopped and turned around.

"Hey? Pretty auntie, what brings you back?" Before they could even speak, Xiao Xun scratched his head and asked her.

Jiang Jifan gave him a gentle smile, her voice slightly breathless: "Because I have a gift I want to give to Xiaoxun."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Xun looked up at her father beside her, as if seeking his opinion.

Chi Wei hesitated for a moment before nodding and then letting go of his hand.

"Okay, pretty auntie!" The little boy looked expectant, his hands obediently placed in front of his chest, looking up at her, and he couldn't contain his excitement as he tiptoed.

She crouched down, unfolded the necklace she had taken off on the way back, and carefully hung it around his neck.

"This necklace is for you, representing my warmest wishes."

The necklace, worn by an adult woman, looked a little out of place on the boy's thin neck. Nevertheless, Xiao Xun still cherished the gift that his father's friend had given him.

With a childlike smile on his face, he looked up at her and called out, "Thank you, beautiful auntie, I will always remember you!"

“Miss Jiang, this necklace looks very valuable. Is it really okay to give it to Xiao Xun like this?” Sakai Ayako, who was standing to the side, had a strong feeling that this necklace was of great significance to her. She frowned slightly and asked with some concern.

“It’s alright.” Jiang Jifan shook his head, glanced at Chi Wei, and then said calmly, “This is the best place for it.”

This necklace is no longer "suitable" for her; let it go where it belongs.

Chi Wei paused slightly.

He understood the moment she took out the necklace.

She personally brought that unfulfilled memory to a close.

For a moment, he felt a deep sense of loss that lingered for a long time.

Having accomplished his task, Jiang Jifan stood up, looked at them earnestly, and said, "Goodbye."

This time it's really time to leave...

"Pretty auntie, we'll meet again, right?" Xiao Xun asked expectantly, clutching the necklace she had given him.

Jiang Jifan smiled without saying a word, but he knew in his heart that this trip would likely be the last time they would meet.

Some people and some things are enough for now.

"Goodbye, take care on your journey," Chi Wei said softly, looking at her.

This was the longest thing he ever said to himself after they met.

With a relieved smile on his lips, Jiang Jifan looked at them and said sincerely, "I wish you happiness."

Finally, she took one last deep look at him, then decisively turned and left.

Tantai Qing and the others waited for her where they were. When they saw her bare neck and slightly red eyes after she returned, he understood everything.

"Let's go," Jiang Jifan said calmly, and walked straight ahead.

Xiang Nannan and the others also noticed her unusual behavior. They looked at each other, but dared not ask any further questions.

Tantai Qing followed silently without uttering a word.

Back at the hotel, Jiang Jifan still looked depressed, but unusually, he didn't ask her why.

Before going to sleep, Tantai Qing tentatively approached her, but before his kiss could land on her face, she turned her head away.

Jiang Jifan really wasn't in the mood for that kind of thing right now.

She tried her best to make her voice sound as tired as she said: "I'm tired, go to sleep early."

After saying that, he turned his back to him.

The man in the darkness was as silent as death.

"Okay." After a long while, he replied in a hoarse voice, and then turned around just like her.

They slept in the same bed but dreamed different dreams, and the night passed without a word.

The following day, Jiang Jifan and Xiang Nannan had breakfast at the hotel's buffet restaurant.

Taking advantage of the men's absence, she opened up to Nannan and chatted with her, teasingly adding food to her plate as she said, "Jifan, I've discovered that you really are devoted."

"How so?" Jiang Jifan asked with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

“Yesterday, that senior from your university gave me a strange feeling of familiarity. Now that I think about it, he really does look like Tai Qing.” She said with a shake of her head.

Both of them were equally gentle and considerate, and even their tone of voice gave the same impression.

Xiang Nannan nudged her with her elbow and couldn't help but tease her, "Is it really possible for someone to like only the same type of man for so many years?"

Jiang Jifan was busy pouring milk into a glass, and smiled without saying a word when he heard this.

When she looked up, she saw Tantai Qing and others standing behind Xiang Nannan, and her smile instantly froze on her face.

"Hey, you two are really something, looking for replacements for each other?"

Xiang Nannan was still analyzing the situation non-stop, and she was so anxious that her forehead was almost sweating. She quickly pretended to cough softly, trying to remind her.

"What's wrong? Is your throat sore?" Xiang Nannan stopped and asked with concern.

"You two, eating all by yourself this morning without even calling us..."

Startled by Song Yuchang's voice, she turned around and saw him, Tantai Qing, and Cheng Jing standing behind her.

Song Yuchang kept giving her subtle winks. She glanced at Tantai Qing, whose face looked unwell, and recalled her quick wit earlier, inwardly cursing her bad luck.

Xiang Nannan realized she had said the wrong thing, so she hurriedly picked up the plate and walked awkwardly to Song Yuchang's side, stuck out her tongue at him, and dared not say another word.

Jiang Jifan stood there, looking at Tantai Qing, his lips moving a few times, wanting to explain but not knowing how.

Tantai Qing's heart was already as dark as ashes, but since everyone was there, they couldn't bear to embarrass her, so she pretended to be nonchalant and went to get her plate.

After waiting for a while and seeing that he didn't react, she was afraid that she would say the wrong thing if she said too much, so she simply stopped talking and decided to let the matter go.

After breakfast, hotel staff suddenly came over and told them that an earthquake might occur in Tokyo in a few hours, and asked them to prepare for an earthquake in advance.

None of the people present had ever experienced a natural or man-made disaster like an earthquake, and they couldn't help but feel fear. Their first thought was to leave the place where the disaster was about to happen.

"Let's go back, it's not safe here anymore," Tantai Qing said decisively as she stood up.

In Japan, an earthquake-prone region, the saying "it's possible" means that an earthquake will happen in eight or nine out of ten years. It could happen in a few hours, or it could happen in the next second; no one can predict when it will arrive.

They had no experience in earthquake preparedness, and it would be too risky for them to just sit idly by and wait.

After agreeing, the group rushed back to their rooms to pack their things.

Tantai Qing was walking ahead, but then she stopped and turned back to take Jiang Jifan's hand.

Jiang Jifan's initially flustered heart calmed down the moment he reached out and took her hand.

She stared at his calm profile, recalling what had just happened, and couldn't help but feel guilty.

On the way back to their room, Tantai Qing called Li Yan and asked him to book the earliest return flight for them.

Li Yan was extremely efficient; he replied half an hour later that the plane tickets had been booked.

They immediately headed to the airport.

This trip to Japan has come to an abrupt end.

Several days after returning to China, although Tantai Qing did not say anything and treated her as usual, Jiang Jifan still keenly noticed something different.

Regarding sex, except in special circumstances, they usually have sex several times a week, and sometimes they even have sex every day when their partner is sexually aroused.

However, since returning to China, Tantai Qing has never touched her again.

When Xing Yeye found out, she jokingly said to her, "Maybe you ate too many snacks outside."

Jiang Jifan immediately denied it.

She knew very well that Tantai Qing was not that kind of person.

Upon careful analysis, she began to suspect that she might have inadvertently hurt his feelings when she rejected him in Japan.

Jiang Jifan decided to conduct a small experiment to answer her question.

That night, the two slept separately, just like the previous days, and even had their own blankets.

Jiang Jifan stared in his direction in the darkness, and after a moment, she turned and hugged the man beside her.

"Taiqing, I know you're not asleep."

Tantai Qing opened his eyes the moment she hugged him.

"Can you tell me why you've been so down lately?"
