Chapter 106 [Extra 2.7] It’s my fault for not protecting you
When Jiang Xiwang and Jiang Feiyan returned to the dormitory, they saw Jian Yubai standing at the door waiting for them.
Unexpectedly, Jian Yubai would come. Jiang Feiyan glanced at Jiang Xiwang who was following behind him and said calmly, "You go in first."
Then, at the moment when Jiang Xiwang closed the door, he gave Jian Yubai the same smile as before.
"Why are you here?" he asked.
Jiang Feiyan didn't know how long it had been since he had met Jian Yubai alone.
"I came to see how you and Jiang Xiwang are getting along," Jian Yubai said with a smile, still leaning against the wall beside the corridor, "What did you do just now?"
"Just taking a walk," Jiang Feiyan said, "Don't worry, I will definitely not kill him before the legion gives the order."
"I really just came here to take a look. I don't mean to worry about you," Jian Yubai shrugged. "But you also know that Jiang Xiwang is not an insider of the rebels. He doesn't know that the appearance of zombies is man-made."
“But he’s been with the rebels for so long, and he knows they can control zombies. Even if he can’t guess that the zombies’ appearance is man-made, he should know that there is some kind of relationship between them and the zombies.”
As Jiang Feiyan spoke, the smile on his face faded.
"I know he has nothing to do with my sister's death, but he was once a subordinate of the Corpse King, wasn't he?"
Jian Yubai did not refute Jiang Feiyan's words, because there was indeed nothing wrong with what Jiang Feiyan said.
Jiang Feiyan continued to ask, "So, why do you plan to keep Jiang Xiwang? We are both rebels, why don't you eliminate him as soon as possible?"
"If you just want him to work, there's no need. There are a lot of people in the army, and there are also residents who come to help. We are not short of people."
"With a body like Jiang Xiwang's, he can't do any work."
"Or does the Legion have other plans?"
Jiang Feiyan, who originally had no expression on his face, had a hint of coldness and doubt in his eyes as he spoke.
"You ask this because you are curious about why he wasn't killed, or do you have other intentions and think he should be executed as soon as possible?" Jian Yubai asked.
"Both." Jiang Feiyan answered without hesitation.
"Well... First, why not kill him? I can't explain this for now. You can find out for yourself," Jian Yubai touched his chin. "As for the second... when to execute him, whether to execute him or not, it's not up to me alone."
Well, after talking for so long it’s actually the same as saying nothing.
"Anyway, since you have accepted this task, just complete it well. I wish you two a happy time together."
Jian Yubai left after saying this, leaving Jiang Feiyan standing alone in the corridor. After standing there for about five minutes, Jiang Feiyan sighed, turned around and opened the dormitory door.
What caught my eye was the bag of food I bought for myself at the convenience store, which was placed on the table facing the door.
"I put your bag of things on the table."
Jiang Xiwang didn't know what Jiang Feiyan and Jian Yubai talked about outside. He stood at the door of his bedroom and said to Jiang Feiyan.
His bag of food had been placed in his bedroom.
"I see. In a couple of days, someone from the army will come to deliver food regularly. I'll cook some food then. We can just make do with it for the next two days."
Jiang Feiyan spoke in a cold voice as he walked towards his bedroom and drew the curtains. The light in the room was blocked and it suddenly became dim.
He fell on the bed with a thump.
"Are you going to bed?"
"Leave me alone."
Jiang Feiyan said this and closed his eyes at the sound of Jiang Xiwang's light footsteps.
Then, when Jiang Feiyan didn't know how long he had been in a daze, in the empty darkness, a knife with a dazzling silver luster suddenly pierced into his body without any warning.
"What?"
Jiang Feiyan seemed to be unable to react to the sudden pain. He looked down as he heard the "tick-tick" sound of blood rolling down the blade to the ground.
Before he could see his wound clearly, a hoarse shout came from behind him.
"elder brother!!!!!"
This panicked and fear-filled voice was so familiar that Jiang Feiyan's heart was pulled violently. When he turned around suddenly to look back, the original darkness had already disappeared.
Amidst the blood, thick smoke rushed up to the blood-red sky, blood seeped into the soil, and the corpses lying in a pool of blood were ruthlessly bitten and trampled by zombies.
And at the end of this ridiculous scene, a person who was surrounded, torn, and bitten by several zombies was shouting desperately at him.
"elder brother----"
"Jiang, Jiang Feiwan?!"
The familiar face made Jiang Feiyan almost breathless. He shouted loudly, and as if he felt no pain, he pulled out the knife that was stabbed into his body, and attacked the oncoming zombies as if he had lost his mind.
Another shout came, and Jiang Feiyan couldn't tell who it was from.
Hot blood splashed on his face, and he rushed forward intermittently despite the zombies' obstruction.
When there were zombie corpses all behind him, a familiar pair of shoes fell in front of him.
He had bought it for Jiang Feiwan.
His body was stiff, and his neck was so stiff that when he turned his head, he made a slight strange sound that only he could hear.
He looked at Jiang Feiwan.
A familiar face, but now looks like a zombie.
Five minutes.
Probably because he had just turned into a zombie, Jiang Feiwan's movements were still a little stiff. He stayed in front of Jiang Feiyan for a second or two before he let out a strange howl and pounced towards Jiang Feiyan.
"Jiang Feiwan! I'm your brother!"
He made a move to step back, but he had no intention of hurting Jiang Feiwan. Jiang Feiyan's mind was in a mess at this moment.
Jiang Feiyan did not attack and his retreat was hesitant. There was no way he could dodge the fierce attack of the irrational zombies. After just one or two hits, Jiang Feiyan was pinned under Jiang Feiwan.
"Jiang Feiwan, it's my fault for not protecting you well."
Looking at the zombies in front of him that were about to eat his flesh, Jiang Feiyan lay on the ground powerlessly, and when he opened his mouth, his voice was full of tears.
"It's my brother's fault..."
"Jiang Feiyan!"
Suddenly, a shout suddenly rang out at this moment.
Along with this deafening shout, the scene before my eyes was like a mirror falling to the ground and shattering with a "snap".
As the vision became blurred, another scene became clear.
The moment he woke up from his dream, Jiang Feiyan quickly sat up on the bed, and he took a few breaths as tears flowed from his eyes.
There were also tiny beads of sweat on his forehead.
"Why are you in my room?" he said, looking at Jiang Xiwang who was standing beside the bed, his face looking extremely ugly.
