◎If both lovers die, it's a happy ending.◎

Yi Gu You Tai He Fu Hei Hui was clearly taken aback.

Gojo-sensei, who was addressed as "Satoru," was surprised that Matsuna Yuuki would call him by his name directly. He was momentarily stunned, but quickly recovered.

Because Yuuki Matsuna was still sick, Gojo Satoru couldn't hold her head down like before. He could only chuckle darkly and ask, "Yuuki, who taught you to call me 'teacher' like that?"

Why did Teacher Gojo's reaction differ from what was expected?

Matsuna Yuuki honestly replied, "Ah, it's Yuuta—"

Before she could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Yuta Otsukoshi. Yuta Otsukoshi stood up, still smiling, but he looked much more flustered than before.

"Teacher, what brings you here?" he asked, sounding somewhat flustered.

"Of course I came to see Yuki who is sick~" Gojo Satoru then remembered the important matter and stopped pursuing who taught Yuki Matsuna to call him "Satoru".

He looked at Yuuki Matsuna and said, "Yuuki actually has a fever. It's rare for a sorcerer to have a fever. It seems Yuuki's physical condition isn't very good."

Gojo Satoru sighed, his tone tinged with a strange sense of regret: "Well, in that case, it seems I'll have to make Yuuki run a few more laps during physical training class from now on. Next time, let's start with fifteen or twenty laps."

"No way!!" Yuuki Matsuna's eyes widened, and she instantly changed her form of address, "Teacher, making me run fifteen or twenty laps isn't going to improve my physical fitness, it's going to kill me!"

"Alright, enough joking around." Gojo Satoru chuckled, no longer teasing Yuuki Matsuna maliciously, and became serious. "Besides visiting the sick Yuuki, I have another matter to discuss here."

"Yuki's recovered and he's going on a mission soon," he said. "Yuki and Megumi are going on the mission together, but—"

Gojo Satoru held up one finger and said, "This mission will be different from the previous ones, if Megumi doesn't cooperate with Yuuki to solve it this time."

"It will fail."

*

Yuki Matsuna jogged to catch up with Fushiguro Megumi.

“Although we’re supposed to be cooperating,” Fushiguro Megumi slowed his pace, glanced down at Yuuki Matsuna, and said, “we don’t even really know how to cooperate with each other, do we?”

"Besides, you don't even know what your technique is." He sighed and rubbed his hair in frustration. "What is Gojo-sensei thinking?"

"I don't know either." Yuki Matsuna stopped jogging and walked side by side with Fushiguro Megumi. "But Gojo-sensei probably has his own plans."

Just as Fushiguro Megumi was about to continue speaking, the sudden attack prevented them from continuing their conversation.

A beam of light came from the sky. Fushiguro Megumi's pupils dilated. He clicked his tongue and quickly grabbed Yuuki Matsuna, dodging to the side.

One after another, the light waves struck again, giving them no chance to rest. Fushiguro Megumi's posture wasn't very good, but he knew that Yuuki Matsuna's posture was even worse than his own.

He simply picked up Yuuki Matsuna and held her in his arms, placing himself under her, and rolled into a nearby building.

Because they could not be seen, the light waves did not strike again.

Fushiguro Megumi pinned Yuuki Matsuna down, his eyes peeking out as he cautiously observed the situation outside.

In an open space, a not-very-large cursed spirit suddenly appeared.

Fushiguro Megumi noticed the cursed spirit's forehead—no, it could no longer be called a forehead, because its head was filled with countless eyes, making it look terrifying and disgusting.

The countless eyes on the cursed spirit's head darted around, seemingly searching for where Fushiguro Megumi and Yuuki Matsuna had gone.

Without a doubt, this is a troublesome and difficult opponent.

"Tsk." Fushiguro Megumi clicked his tongue and summoned his shikigami dog with his shadow, "Tamainu."

Two shikigami dogs, one black and one white, emerged from the shadows and rushed out of the building after Fushiguro Megumi said "Go."

But that's not enough.

"Hide well, don't get spotted." After saying this, Fushiguro Megumi ignored the reactions of his subordinates and rushed out with the two shikigami dogs, standing in the middle of the building.

The cursed spirit naturally saw him, and while the two shikigami dogs were entangled with the cursed spirit, he made a gesture again and said, "Orochi."

A giant serpentine spirit sprang from the shadows on the ground, biting the cursed spirit's body as it hurtled into the air.

The giant serpent bit off half of the cursed spirit's body, and the cursed spirit fell from the sky to the ground. The giant serpent then darted back into the shadows.

The countless eyes that were rapidly rotating above the cursed spirit's head suddenly stopped, all of them staring at one target—Fukuguro Megumi.

The bitten half of its body regenerated at an extremely fast speed, and it stood up from the ground again. Countless eyes looked at Fushiguro Megumi and attacked him.

Fushiguro Megumi found herself in a fierce battle.

Yuuki Matsuna, who was hiding in the building, got up from the ground. Like Fushiguro Megumi, she peeked out and saw that Fushiguro Megumi initially had the upper hand, but quickly fell into a disadvantageous position, struggling to dodge the enemy's attacks.

This battle is too much for Fushiguro Megumi to handle alone.

Just as Gojo Satoru said, this battle requires the cooperation of both of them to handle, but the problem is that Fushiguro Megumi has never cooperated with Yuuki Matsuna before, and doesn't know how to cooperate with her.

Moreover, no one knew what Yuuki Matsuna's technique was. After the word marks on Yuuki Matsuna's lips disappeared, she never showed any other abilities again.

Fushiguro Megumi felt that even if Yuuki Matsuna joined the battle, it might not make any difference and would only add another injured person to the mix.

Since that's the case.

He gritted his teeth and suddenly struck a pose that made Yuuki Matsuna feel uneasy.

"Hey, Yuuki." Taking advantage of the shikigami blocking the cursed spirit, he suddenly spoke loudly, "You have to live on. You may be strange, but I don't hate you."

Why did you suddenly say that?

Matsuna Yuuki's pupils suddenly dilated.

She realized that Fushiguro Megumi was planning to sacrifice herself.

Megumi Fushiguro was already prepared to die. In fact, he didn't cherish his own life that much. Rather than running away, he would rather sacrifice himself and die while protecting others.

He made that gesture, his expression turning serious.

Fushiguro Megumi is ready.

But Matsuna Yuki wasn't prepared.

A massive building suddenly plummeted from the sky, crashing straight down on Jurei and Fushiguro Megumi. Fushiguro Megumi quickly jumped back a few steps to avoid the building. Confused, he looked up and saw his shikigami, Orochi, emerge from the shadows and bite the building in half with its sharp teeth and large mouth.

"Hui." The girl ran out from where she had just been hiding, pounced on Fushiguro Hui, and knocked him to the ground.

Fushiguro Megumi looked up in surprise, only to meet the gaze of a pair of misty eyes, which made him freeze in place.

"Hui hasn't even called me by my name yet, and she's already planning to die? I just can't accept that!" The girl's voice trembled with tears.

She choked up and said, "If Hui dies, I will be very, very sad. I will be so sad that I will die."

"Hui, who made me so sad, definitely can't go to heaven; she'll go to hell. But I'm definitely going to heaven." The girl's logic was completely different from that of a normal person.

She sniffed, fighting back tears, and said, "If... if that's the case, I'll have to go to hell to bring Hui back, but hell sounds so terrifying. I don't want to go, and I don't want Hui to go."

The same lines as those on Inujuu Thorn reappeared on her lips. Fushiguro Megumi was about to tell her to stop talking, but Yuuki Matsuna's mouth was faster than his.

She said, "If Hui dies, I will die with Hui."

The incantation took effect.

But is this a temporary curse, one that will cease to be effective once the lines on her lips disappear, or one that will remain in effect until she dies?

Fushiguro Megumi didn't know.

"Idiot!" Fushiguro Megumi flipped over and pinned Yuuki Matsuna down, yelling at her, "How could you say something like that with a spell!"

Isn't this just cursing yourself?

How could anyone curse themselves with incantations and bind themselves?

Yuki Matsuna turned her head away, not wanting to talk to him anymore. She tried to crawl out from under Fushiguro Megumi, but he held her wrist firmly, and she couldn't break free.

Just then, the cursed spirit reappeared.

It wasn't quite dead yet; it crawled out of the collapsed building.

Fushiguro Megumi noticed the cursed spirit, grabbed Yuuki Matsuna by the waist and pulled her into his arms, then quickly ran to a place where they could hide together.

Having temporarily gained a chance to question him, Fushiguro Megumi pressed down on Yuuki Matsuna's shoulder and scolded in a low voice, "Are you an idiot?!"

"I'm not an idiot!" The strange symbol on Yuuki Matsuna's lips disappeared, and she looked at Fushiguro Megumi, arguing with him, "Megumi is the real idiot!"

"Would a normal person think that if the other person dies, you should die with them? Who's the idiot here?"

"Would a normal person just choose to sacrifice without saying anything or asking for the other person's opinion?"

Unable to argue with her any longer, Fukuguro said in exasperation, "If we don't do this, we'll both die. It's definitely better for one person to die than for two, isn't it?"

"No way!" Yuuki Matsuna retorted immediately. "Haven't you read manga and novels? As long as two people who love each other die, it's a happy ending!"

"What kind of happy ending is this?!"

As soon as Fushiguro Megumi finished speaking, the cursed spirit attacked again. He immediately grabbed Yuuki Matsuna and jumped to the other side, dodging the beam of light.

"I don't care, if Megumi dies, I'll die with him." To prevent herself from falling out of Megumi's arms, Matsuna Yuuki reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck.

She looked up at Fushiguro Megumi's jawline and said, "So for my sake, it's better if Megumi doesn't die."
