Chapter 48. He whispered something to Luo Luo.
Jiang Luo was filled with regret for not saying more.
"Here's your microphone back." She weakly handed over the microphone.
The wheat, about the size of a square button, lay in her palm.
He Ziyan didn't answer, but instead asked a completely unrelated question: "Luo Luo, are we friends now?"
This problem came too suddenly.
Jiang Luo was surprised.
Does that count?
They don't really know each other yet.
Doesn't that count?
They had already spent a day in the same house, had breakfast together, gone to the supermarket together, and were about to have lunch together, while He Ziyan was still arguing with his friend about her.
Can they remain friends?
not necessarily.
Jiang Luo has had many short-lived friendships. She would meet some new friends with each film she made, but when they met again in another film a year or two later, all that was left was polite small talk.
Again and again, in a never-ending cycle.
Jiang Luo smiled, no longer confined to her aloof persona, but answering from the bottom of her heart: "A friend for a limited time."
limited.
Special time, special place.
He Ziyan paused for a moment, then lowered his eyes and smiled helplessly, "Okay."
He picked up his microphone, clipped it on, but didn't turn it on, and asked with a half-smile, "Why do you think I'm angry?"
Oh, that's the key to the problem.
Jiang Luo looked bewildered and blurted out a lie: "Because... one of your friends discriminates against another of your friends?"
friend.
This wording pleased He Ziyan, who smiled but shook his head.
"What's the reason for that?" Jiang Luo pressed.
A staff member came over and asked, "Teachers, is your microphone out of power?"
They got caught.
Jiang Luo racked her brains to come up with a sophistry.
He Ziyan was quite frank: "The mic still has power. I just..." He turned around and glanced at Jiang Luo, revealing an ambiguous smile, and then said to the young lady, "I whispered something to Luo Luo."
Whisper... Whisper...
Jiang Luo: ...Why are you being so ambiguous?
The young lady smiled shyly and said, "Okay, teachers, please continue."
Jiang Luo: Miss, what's wrong with you looking like you've been totally blown away?
He Ziyan shrugged: "We're done talking. I'm going to the restroom first."
After saying that, he strode towards the wooden house.
Jiang Luo stared blankly at his retreating figure: And... you still haven't said why you're angry!
When Jiang Luo came out of the restroom, He Ziyan was waiting for her by the sink.
Before the microphone was even turned on, she asked again, "Why are you angry?"
Pulling out a tissue to wipe his wet hands, He Ziyan casually uttered a sentence in English: "To be continued..."
Jiang Luo: ...
Their reflections were mirrored on the surface, alongside the vibrant interior scene.
-
"Ding. We've arrived at the seventh floor."
The elevator doors opened, revealing a pair of long, slender legs.
The newcomer was dressed in a bright blue three-piece business suit with gold thread patterns, looking young and sophisticated.
His well-developed muscles accentuate his superior physique, making him impossible to ignore.
Ji Bei made a dazzling entrance while adjusting his collar.
Although he rushed over as soon as he saw Xu Lu to protect his good brother He Ziyan's budding love, it didn't stop him from spending ten minutes getting his hair done at the "Perfect Styling" salon on the fifth floor.
Since it's on camera, Lin Shuang will see it.
-
"Your dishes are all served."
The waiter placed the last dish on the table.
Jiang Luo: "Thank you."
Then, her gaze was drawn to the people who were heading straight for them from behind the waiter.
Plan...North?
Ji Bei is here too?
What's going on now? Are they filming "He Ziyan and His Friends"?
Everyone noticed Jiang Luo's unusual behavior, followed her gaze, and were all shocked.
He Ziyan: "?"
As he passed the next table, Ji Bei casually picked up a dining chair and placed it at the head of the table.
"Brother Ji Bei, what brings you here?" Xu Lu asked.
Ji Bei, without changing his expression, spouted nonsense: "I just happened to be passing by and saw you."
Jiang Luo: "?"
The group exchanged pleasantries.
Jiang Luo had dealt with Ji Bei before, and felt a great sense of kinship upon meeting him again.
Most importantly, Ji Bei has arrived, so if He Ziyan and Xu Lu have any further conflicts, someone will be there to mediate.
However, after her "whisper" with He Ziyan, He Ziyan really didn't criticize Xu Lu again, and they have been at peace ever since.
He Ziyan is indeed good at keeping his word and controlling his emotions in time.
Jiang Luo's feelings for him have improved.
"Please order, Mr. Ji," Qin Ning said warmly. "Would you like me to introduce the dishes to you?"
Jiang Luo: ...Not again?
"I'll order myself." Ji Bei took the menu, looked at Jiang Luo first, and praised, "Miss Jiang is much prettier in person than on the live stream."
Jiang Luo's heart skipped a beat: What's going on? Haven't we met before?
"It's alright," she replied.
Ji Bei added, "Actually, our Ayan really likes your acting; we've seen quite a few of your performances."
He Ziyan stiffly turned his neck and looked at Ji Bei in shock.
He kicked Ji Bei under the table.
Ji Bei's leg muscles had long been trained to be as strong as a copper wall, so he felt no pain at all, and his face remained unchanged.
Jiang Luo was skeptical of Ji Bei's statement. "Is that so...?"
“Definitely!” Xu Lu suddenly replied.
Xu Lu was actually saying things that didn't sound so unpleasant to Ji Bei.
It is said that growth happens in an instant, and Jiang Luo never expected that Xu Lu's growth would happen in just that one moment.
Xu Lu smiled slightly and said in an extremely innocent tone, "We all grew up watching Sister Jiang Luo's dramas."
Jiang Luo was caught off guard by the sudden, heavy blow.
It finally came, with the ever-present joke, "I grew up watching your shows."
Jiang Luo: "..."
"Sister Jiang Luo, are you 27 years old?" Xu Lu asked again.
Jiang Luo has no anxiety about age, never believes in the absolute nature of age, and does not think that youth is the highlight of life.
She firmly believes that no matter how old she gets, there will always be a ray of light that belongs to her.
No matter her age, there will always be roles that require her to fulfill.
“Yes,” Jiang Luo replied.
After answering, she forked a piece of sausage and put it in her mouth.
Xu Lu pouted, like a Barbie doll, "Ah...you're two years older than Brother Ziyan."
Oh, so now that her education level isn't enough to hurt her, she's resorting to attacking her age?
Jiang Luo could guess why Xu Lu attacked her.
It was all for He Ziyan's sake.
Xu Lu likes He Ziyan, and He Ziyan shows her special care because of their on-screen couple image.
Because Xu Lu was young, Jiang Luo couldn't get angry at her, and was left with only a deep sense of powerlessness.
"Sister-brother relationships are very popular now," Qin Ning blurted out.
They really don't stop until they say something shocking.
This one sentence immediately made him the focus of everyone's attention.
Jiang Luo: In the current tense situation, are you trying to completely muddy the waters?
He Ziyan: I'm definitely going to be friends with this person.
Ji Bei: Well done!
Xu Lu: What are you doing?
The field fell silent. Qin Ning, puzzled, glanced around.
