Nan Xian suddenly spat out a mouthful of seawater and sat up despite the aches and pains all over her body.
She raised her hand to shield her eyes from the glaring sunlight, her gaze wandering aimlessly.
An endless sea, golden beaches, seagulls soaring in the sky...

Suddenly, a white hem of clothing came into her view.
The memory of falling into the water suddenly resurfaced—He Mingxiao calling out his name as he jumped off the cliff...

She propped herself up and stumbled toward him.
He Mingxiao floated beside a reef, bloodstains on his forehead, his face pale.
Could it be...?
Nan Xian reached under his nose with trembling hands and felt a faint breath of air. The heavy weight in her heart instantly lifted.
She dragged him ashore and laid him flat on the sand, her mind replaying the CPR procedure while her hands continued their work—

Just as Nan Xian was about to perform CPR on him, a hand suddenly blocked her way.

However, she was immediately horrified to see a huge, snake-headed shadow fall onto the ground in front of her—
"Nan Xian! Nan Xian!"
He Mingxiao called out anxiously, but Nan Xian kept her eyes tightly closed, muttering "help" under her breath, cold sweat constantly seeping from her forehead.
He reached out and touched her forehead; it was burning hot, and his panic intensified.
He unbuttoned his shirt, pulled her into his arms, and held her tightly, warming her cold limbs with his own body heat.
"Don't be afraid, honey, I'll protect you..."
Nan Xian's dream suddenly changed—
The black snake that had been chasing her disappeared, and the swaying curtains around her gradually vanished into a white mist.
The white mist, carrying a refreshing scent, surrounded her, but she felt no panic at all; in fact, she was quite happy deep down.
They quickly enveloped her completely, bringing a slight warmth. She relaxed and curled up, slowly closing her eyes.

He Mingxiao gazed at her with deep eyes, a faint smile appearing in them.
He lowered his head, his thin lips brushing against her brow, his voice slightly hoarse, "Yes, the fever has gone down."
The kiss instantly brought Nan Xian back to her senses. She hurriedly pulled away from his embrace, and her sudden movement caused her to feel dizzy for a moment.
He Mingxiao helped her up, frowning, "Where do you feel unwell?"
Nan Xian shook her head, pulled her hand away from his, and looked a little unnatural. "It's okay, you...you don't need to get so close to me."
He observed her expression, then suddenly smiled and whispered:
"We've already done the most intimate things, why are you still worried about this?"
Nan Xian suddenly realized something, and her ears instantly turned bright red. "We're already divorced, can't you be a little more considerate?"
"Okay, okay, I was wrong." He Mingxiao suppressed a laugh and got up. "You slept all afternoon, are you hungry? I'll go find you something to eat."
Nan Xian also stood up, "No need, I have hands and feet, I can find it myself!"
He Mingxiao did not refuse, but took the initiative to walk in front and used a long wooden stick to sweep a path for her.
They were in a cave by the sea. The place wasn't spacious, but it was shady and relatively cool.

The two walked silently into the depths of the woods. Nan Xian picked up a thick branch and held it in her hand, looking around warily.
Suddenly, He Mingxiao stopped and quickly walked to a patch of weeds, from which he picked up a wild rabbit whose hind legs were tied by a bait trap.
