Chapter 357

Just then, the earth suddenly began to shake violently, followed by a series of deafening crashes that echoed in everyone's ears, as if a giant of immense strength was wielding a sledgehammer and smashing the cave.

Caught off guard, everyone was shaken to their feet. Those who knew magic quickly formed hand seals to stabilize themselves, while those who didn't clung tightly to the stone wall beside them.

Huo Shaoying listened intently for a moment, then immediately realized what was happening. Her expression changed drastically, and she shouted, "The boar beast is ramming the cave, trying to force us out. We can't stay here any longer. Everyone, do not go back the way we came. Go out through the cave entrance above!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than the cave shook violently again. This time, even the ground began to tremble, and a very wide crack appeared in the ground. Stones fell down with a clattering sound as they landed inside.

Nan Xian mustered her courage and peeked into the crevice, immediately gasping in shock—below was an active volcano, with churning lava like a fiery demon, seemingly about to rush up and devour them at any moment.

She subconsciously touched her arm, which was covered in goosebumps, and turned to see Huo Shaoying still standing there. So she quickly took two steps forward, took the bag from Huo Shaoying's hand and hugged it to her own chest. At the same time, she reached into her own treasure bag and took out two identical talismans. She stuck one on herself and the other on Huo Shaoying.

"Come with me!"

She gripped Huo Shaoying's arm tightly, then pushed off the ground with both feet, and in an instant, she soared into the air like a light butterfly.

Before Huo Shaoying could react to what was happening, she suddenly felt a lightness all over her body and was carried straight towards the cave entrance.

The two were even faster than the guards who were using magic!

She stared in shock at Nan Xian's profile, her mind a jumble of confusion: How many more tricks did she have up her sleeve that she didn't know about?

The moment she stepped onto the cave entrance, Nan Xian swiftly removed the talisman from her body and landed steadily with Huo Shaoying.

She quickly looked around. It was already dusk, and under the orange sunlight, thousands upon thousands of boars surged in like a tide, surrounding the cave. One after another, they pushed against the backside of the one in front, rhythmically ramming forward like a machine, seemingly trying to smash the cave apart with their hard foreheads.

Nan Xian had never seen anything like this before. She felt a chill run down her spine, and a cold sensation shot from the soles of her feet to the top of her head.

She had no doubt that these crazed boars could really smash the cave apart!

Huo Shaoying was still half-floating in the air when she reached out and poked Nan Xian's arm, saying leisurely, "Aren't you going to put me down yet?"

Nan Xian was brought back to her senses by the sound. She looked at Huo Shaoying's floating feet, slapped her forehead, and quickly tore off the "flying talisman" from her body.

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."

Huo Shaoying felt a little more at ease once her feet touched solid ground. She wanted to ask Nan Xian what the talisman was, but it was clear that resolving the current crisis was more important than being curious about the talisman. She quickly became serious, glanced around to make sure the guards had escaped, and called out a few of them who knew magic. She succinctly instructed them, "Set up a teleportation array!"

The guards responded in unison and then took their seats according to their assigned positions.

As their fingers flew across the paper, wisps of silver light weaved through their fingertips, connecting like a spiderweb. Huo Shaoying sat in the center, the silver light converging above her head before returning from her hands to her own body, forming a giant cycle.

Nan Xian couldn't understand what they were doing, but she knew they were looking for a way to survive. So she and the remaining guards stood vigilantly to the side, using their weapons to drive away the boars that tried to climb up the cave wall.

The roars and crashes merged together, and the entire valley began to clamor. Birds in the forest were startled and flew into the sky as if fleeing for their lives.

The silver light grew increasingly dazzling; the teleportation array was about to form, but just then—

Suddenly, the earth roared loudly, and this time not only the cave but the entire valley shook.

Nan Xian realized something was wrong and thought to herself, "This is bad." She turned her head sharply and found that the teleportation array that was about to be completed had suddenly broken due to the tremor, and the array had failed.

Huo Shaoying, who was sitting at the center of the formation, was backfired by the magic power. Her face turned deathly pale instantly. She frowned, her features contorted, and she clutched her chest, spitting out a mouthful of blood.

"My lady!" A guard rushed forward to help her up, but Huo Shaoying waved her hand, sat up straight again, and said in a hoarse voice:

"continue!"

The guard pleaded, "My lord, you mustn't! The spiritual energy here is scarce, and the teleportation array has failed and cannot be rebuilt! My lord, you must take Miss Nan and escape first, we will cover your retreat!"

Huo Shaoying's eyes widened slightly, her face showing an unprecedented sternness. She said sharply, "Continue! You are my soldiers, and I must take you back!"

The guard stared at her blankly, tears streaming down his face.

"grown ups......"

"Stop calling me 'Grandpa,' it's too late!" Nan Xian stepped into the formation, and in the same way, she affixed a flying talisman to Huo Shaoying, then pulled her into her arms. "The impact of the boar beast activated the active volcano underground, and it's about to erupt! We have to leave quickly!"
