Chapter 359 A short side story



The moment she saw He Mingxiao, she guessed what he was thinking—he was waiting to die.

She had never seen other demons, so she didn't know if they would lie alone in the trees at dusk to sunbathe, but she was certain that the demon in front of her would not do so for no reason.

She decided to take a gamble.

The man and the demon stared at each other for a long time. After a while, the color in He Mingxiao's eyes deepened, and his prominent Adam's apple slowly moved up and down.

He pursed his lips, seemingly helpless yet somewhat pleased, and shifted his gaze to the side. He then turned and grasped Nan Xian's hand, which was smaller than his own and as soft as a flower petal, and held it tightly.

Nan Xian felt a little pain, but she didn't struggle. She opened her beautiful eyes and looked at him, serious and stubborn.

"Okay, I agree."

He released her, turned his head, and strode into the depths of the forest.

Seeing that she didn't react, he pretended to be impatient and clicked his tongue lightly.

"What are you waiting for? Follow me!"

Nan Xian blinked, her eyes immediately lighting up, and a joyful smile appeared on her face.

"Please wait!"

She called out to He Mingxiao, then lifted her skirt, turned and ran towards the carriage, dragging a small, thin figure out of it.

"And her too!"

He Mingxiao's brow twitched, and he suddenly furrowed his sharp eyebrows. He was about to refuse decisively, but when he met Nan Xian's pure and beautiful eyes, his tone softened unconsciously, and he asked patiently, "Why?"

Nan Xian smiled gently, a smile that seemed to carry a hint of smugness, and raised her hand to pat Xiao Fu's cheek lightly.

"Who do you think I'm talking about, the cook?"
