Chapter 41 The Vanished Groom



He cleared his throat and continued:

“Every year on the sixteenth day of the first lunar month, as night falls, white mist rises from the cold spring. The mist envelops the entire village, and the villagers fall into a coma as if they have been drugged.”

“The next day at dawn, a young man between nineteen and thirty years old will disappear from the village.”

"And beside the cold spring, there lay the young man's shoes..."

A gust of cold wind blew by, and everyone shivered involuntarily.

Lang Zhuo tightened his scarf and asked, "Then what does this have to do with the groom?"

Director Deng flashed his signature mysterious smile.

With a chuckle, Nan Xian turned her head and saw Yu Lin.

He lowered his head to his lips, a smile playing on his lips, and the cross earring swayed slightly with the gentle tremor of his body.

Seemingly noticing her gaze, he turned to look at her.

Their eyes met, and Yu Lin's eyes lit up as he winked at her.

Nan Xian quickly looked away.

Director Deng glanced at everyone, and seeing that they were all eagerly waiting for what was to come, he deliberately spoke slowly:

"But no one expected that—that very night, the Killing Spring began to emit white mist ahead of schedule, and the dozen or so young men who had been kidnapped to be grooms—all disappeared!"
