Chapter 81 The Great Transformation

Achoo!

Nan Xian was caught off guard and sneezed loudly.

She rubbed her nose, wondering, "Could it be that I caught a chill from the cold wind last night?"

Just as I was hesitating about whether to take a cold medicine as a precaution, my phone, which was on the coffee table, suddenly rang.

It was Situ Ting calling, and Nan Xian quickly answered.

Situ Ting succinctly stated her purpose: "Miss Nan, Lu Anna's condition is not very optimistic. We thought... perhaps you could help her."

Nan Xian was startled, and she subconsciously touched the area below her chest.

Within this dantian lies the restless soul of Luanna.

"Okay! When do we leave? I..."

Before she could finish speaking, a flash of white light appeared before her eyes, and when the light faded, Situ Ting appeared in front of her.

...A sudden transformation? ???

Nan Xian froze in shock, glancing at her phone and then at her, "What happened to you—"

Situ Ting grabbed her wrist with one hand and quickly drew a talisman with the other, "Time is of the essence, there's no time to explain!"

Another flash of white light, and then Nan Xian felt as if she had been blindfolded and thrown into a giant washing machine.

She was surrounded by darkness, unsure of what to do with her hands and feet, and the intense feeling of weightlessness and imbalance made her extremely uncomfortable.

Just as she was about to gag, the dizzying sensation finally stopped.

Situ Ting placed her hand on her neck, and warmth flowed into her body. Nan Xian regained her senses, and her discomfort instantly disappeared.

She blinked and took in her surroundings—

A clean corridor, bright incandescent lights, and a faint smell of disinfectant in the air.

This is clearly a hospital.

However, it doesn't seem to be entirely the hospital she thought it was.

A cat-faced, human-bodied demon carrying an IV drip passed by her, grimacing as it complained to the person on the phone, "If it weren't for rushing to meet the client's thirty-eighth proposal deadline, would I have developed cholecystitis from exhaustion! Ouch—it hurts like hell!"

A spider-like nurse with four pairs of eyes and eight arms chased after him and said sternly, "You just finished surgery and I told you to rest. Why are you running around?"

"Lying down is boring, I want to come out for some fresh air."

When glared at by the nurses' four pairs of eyes at the same time, the cat demon's imposing manner immediately diminished. He shrank his ears and obediently returned to his ward.

How amazing! So this is the world of demons!

*Snap*, Situ Ting snapped her fingers near her ear. "Snap out of it."

Nan Xian sighed and turned her head to see the elevator doors in front of her slowly opening.

She followed Situ Ting inside, who then pressed the button for the 22nd floor.

The floor plan next to it clearly reads: L22, Intensive Care Unit.

Lu Anna's hospital room was at the very end of the corridor on the 22nd floor. Before even entering, Nan Xian could hear anxious shouts coming from inside—

"Dean! Dean, something terrible has happened! Quickly, bring the Soul-Guiding Bell!"

Before she could finish speaking, a semi-transparent figure in a white coat walked straight through the door. Nan Xian gasped, but before she could dodge, he passed right through her body and disappeared at the end of the corridor like a gust of wind.

"Was that... a ghost?" Nan Xian was somewhat dazed.

Situ Ting nodded, offered no further explanation, and pushed open the door to go inside.

The ward was a mess.

The air was filled with the pungent smell of burning hair. Various medical instruments were overturned on the ground. Several strong male nurses were supporting an elderly man with a face as pale as paper. Their faces and bodies were covered with bloody scratches from their fingernails, a shocking sight.

On the hospital bed, floated a young girl as thin as a sheet of paper.

Her long hair was disheveled, covering her entire face. She lowered her head slightly, and her hands and feet hung limply as if they had no bones.

Suddenly, she seemed to sense something and abruptly looked towards the door—

Nan Xian stepped halfway into the ward and met a pair of dark eyes.
