Chapter 84 Mirror Demon

Nan Xian had just woken up from a dream that seemed both real and unreal. Her consciousness had not fully returned to her body, and her head felt as heavy as if it were filled with lead.

Upon hearing this, she was stunned and her eyes widened, her already throbbing nerves twitching even more wildly.

"Hiss—" Her face paled slightly, and she raised her hand to touch her forehead, only to find that she could not move.

Her wrists were bound to the edge of the bed with black restraints, and her legs were tied together.

"Huh? Why am I tied up?"

Situ Ting slapped her forehead in frustration and quickly untied her, explaining, "You were bewitched by that mirror demon, and your soul fell into the illusion it created. We were afraid you would be corrupted by it, so we had no choice but to resort to this. We are truly sorry."

Nan Xian shook her head laboriously, indicating that she didn't mind.

Suddenly remembering something, she became serious and asked anxiously, "By the way, Lu Anna! How is she?"

Situ Ting helped her sit up, and upon hearing this, she smiled with relief. "Don't worry, thanks to you. That mirror demon was originally attached to her, but after you removed it, she's fine now. Her soul has also been extracted from your body, and we're just waiting for the right moment to reattach it!"

Nan Xian breathed a sigh of relief, "It's good that she's alright... But didn't you say she was poisoned by a demon? How come it's now that she's possessed?"

Mentioning this, Situ Ting's expression, which had just eased somewhat, instantly turned ugly again.

She frowned and let out a disdainful snort from her nose.

"Don't laugh at me, but our Special Administration Bureau has always prided itself on being the most upright and disciplined in the Three Realms, with impregnable defenses both internally and externally. Yet, we never expected that the biggest mole would appear here!" She gritted her teeth, her fists clenching so tightly they cracked. "He tampered with Lu Anna's test results, making us mistakenly believe that being possessed by an evil spirit was caused by demonic poisoning, almost... causing a catastrophe!"

Nan Xian blinked. "What terrible disaster?"

Situ Ting: "When someone is poisoned by a demon, especially to the point where it's necessary to absorb the soul to preserve the body, the best method the hospital can think of is to fight poison with poison, using a large amount of toxins to force the demonic poison out of her body and then sealing it in a container. But to resolve demonic possession, the method is completely different, and there can be no mistakes whatsoever!"

Luanna's body was already at its limit, and the method of fighting poison with poison was a last resort... The moment the poison was injected, it was as if giving the lurking monster within her a shot of adrenaline; it immediately awakened and severely injured several doctors at the hospital, even the hospital director fell victim to its attack!

Nan Xian tilted her head, recalling the white-haired old man she had glimpsed before losing consciousness, and nodded.

"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I really wouldn't have believed it," Situ Ting stared at her with sharp black eyes, a look of astonishment in them. "You've never been involved in cultivation, and although you possess spiritual energy, you can't use it, making you almost no different from an ordinary person. That mirror demon was quite powerful, capable of transforming and possessing bodies, and had cultivated for at least a thousand years. Even half the Special Administration Bureau's combined strength might not be able to subdue it, yet you directly annihilated it in your dream, its soul scattered! Not even a trace remained!" She held up a finger, gesturing a small distance, and clicked her tongue twice in amazement.

Nan Xian blushed slightly and coughed lightly, embarrassed.

Situ Ting: "I'm so curious, how did you do that?"

"This—I'm puzzled myself." Nan Xian smiled helplessly.

She tried hard to recall the events of her dream, but for some reason, she could only grasp a few unrelated fragments of memory from her mind.

In the fragment, she is still in high school, wearing an ill-fitting blue and white school uniform, her face is youthful and innocent, but her expression is full of pain and confusion.

"Ah!" Nan Xian's eyes suddenly lit up, and she gently tapped her palm with her fist. "I think I recited a spell at the end? Earth fire reflects the moon, all spirits return to the gods... Yes, that's it!"

Situ Ting frowned in confusion: "I've never heard of such a spell before. It seems very ancient. Let me look it up and I'll let you know as soon as I find out!"

Nan Xian responded. She had just been corrupted by demonic energy and was still very weak. She needed to rest. After watching Situ Ting leave, she fell into a deep sleep again.

In her half-awake state, her hands instinctively cupped around her chest, as if in a protective gesture.

Deep within her dantian, a radiant glow, like a full moon, shone brightly.
