Who would have thought—
As soon as Nan Xian's hand approached, the bead seemed to sense her presence and deftly dodged to the side, avoiding her hand.
She paused, then raised an eyebrow with interest.
I tentatively reached out again, and sure enough, it dodged away a little more.
A subtle rebellious streak got the better of her; she insisted on touching it even though she wasn't allowed to. Nan Xian narrowed her eyes, first using a feint to confuse it, then seizing the opportunity to pounce forward and clasp her hands together.
This time, the bead couldn't dodge in time and was caught red-handed. It struggled a few times in her palm, then resigned itself to its fate and remained still.
Nan Xian let out a triumphant "Ha!" and slowly opened her hands.
However, his palm was empty; the blue bead had vanished.
As she was still wondering, she suddenly heard the sound of rushing water. Looking in the direction of the sound, she saw several small bubbles rising to the surface of the water not far away, bursting open one after another with a series of "pop" sounds.
Beneath the bubbles, a shadow floats faintly, long and thin, resembling both a fish and a snake.
Before Nan Xian could see clearly, it suddenly flicked its tail and disappeared into the depths.
Nan Xian was baffled. She couldn't understand why these strange things, like oceans and strange fish, would appear in her dantian, as if they were no longer under her control.
Her soul had been separated from her body for too long, and she felt somewhat tired. She let out a soft sigh and allowed herself to return to reality.
Her ears gradually became noisy, with voices and the sound of wind mingling and rushing into her mind.
She opened her eyes, and a large hand immediately reached out to shield her from the light of the incandescent bulb.
He Mingxiao's concerned voice rang out: "Are you alright? You suddenly fainted earlier, and we couldn't wake you up no matter what we did..."
As Nan Xian gradually regained consciousness, she nodded, propped herself up on the bed, and looked around.
This is the production crew's temporary medical room; at this moment, it's just the two of them.
He Mingxiao raised the headboard and placed a pillow behind her.
Nan Xian thanked him softly, "Where is Dr. Liao?"
Liao Jun is the head of the medical team for the program.
"He went to get your blood test results, they should be here soon—"
Before he could finish speaking, the door to the medical room was pushed open from the outside, and Liao Jun walked in.
Upon seeing He Mingxiao, he was slightly taken aback, his expression becoming somewhat subtle.
He Mingxiao keenly sensed the change in his emotions in that instant, and his heart tightened involuntarily. He stood up from his seat with a "whoosh".
"How is she? Is she alright?"
Liao Jun was startled by his sudden action and quickly said, "It's nothing, it's nothing," and rushed forward to hand the test report to Nan Xian.
"All values are within the normal range, it's just overwork and insufficient qi and blood. Make sure to rest more, eat more foods that nourish qi and blood, and also..."
He hesitated, his gaze subtly drifting towards He Mingxiao's direction.
He Mingxiao understood, frowned, and looked at Nan Xian with considerable worry.
Nan Xian kept her eyes on the report and didn't even glance at him.
He swallowed his question, tucked the blanket around her, and left the medical room.
Once she was sure he had left, Nan Xian looked up from her report and stared at Liao Jun.
She tried to remain calm, but her erratic breathing betrayed the turmoil in her heart.
“This…” she lightly tapped her index finger on a line of numbers highlighted in red, “Does it mean what I’m guessing?”
Liao Jun nodded, bowed slightly, and lowered his voice.
"Yes, Miss Nan, you are one week pregnant."
