Chapter 23 I Don't Want to Make Him Successful

Chapter 23 I Don't Want to Make Him Successful

Yan Bin hugged a young girl as they walked out of the elevator. The two of them were so affectionate that they didn't notice Long Weihe, who had walked into the blind spot in the corridor. The person stopped as if they had seen a foreign object that irritated their eyes, and looked back. They were walking separately at a distance from the western restaurant, and the girl was coming towards her. The flower-scented freshener in the bathroom gave off a strong and pungent smell, and Long Weihe felt uncomfortable in her stomach. The girl came in after her, went to the mirror and took out her makeup bag, not noticing the glances from the people washing their hands next to her. She put on some lipstick, smoothed her hair, and left in less than two minutes. Long Weihe immediately called Zhang Ziye and asked her to send a photo of Qi Yue. The original resume did not have a photo, and later Tan Ming and Zhang Ziye arranged the interview, so she had never met her. Zhang Ziye was still working overtime at the company. He took out Qi Yue's application form, which had her personal photo attached, and took a photo of it and sent it to her. After seeing the photo, she confirmed that it was her. She remembered the last time Mrs. Yan sat across from her and said he came here to pave the way for their daughter's future, and she kept saying she was worried there was no way back for him. She probably didn't know that he came here to have an affair with someone else, and that she, Long Weihe, was paving the way for their affair. Hypocrite, deception. A wave of anger rushed to her head, and she laughed at herself in the bathroom mirror, "I, Long Weihe, didn't dig up a talent, I dug up a bastard." She didn't know how long she stayed in the bathroom when Lin Yao called to urge her, "Dean Yan is here." She returned to the restaurant, her face struggling to regain its normal look. Yan Bin stood up, "Miss Long, we meet again." His hair was styled with hairspray, and he wore a pure white polo shirt and dark jeans. His glasses were polished and he looked much more energetic than the last time they met. "We meet again." She suppressed her discomfort and quickly moved away the second he was about to raise his hand to shake hands, and sat down across from him. "Mrs. Yan didn't come this time?" She asked, staring into his eyes. "No. She's busy." "Excuse me, but how did you convince your wife?" "It wasn't about convincing her, it was about negotiating. I discussed it with Miss Long just as she had done the analysis. The system is incredibly easy to understand, and this new opportunity is a new experience, a new challenge. She supports it. Thank you, Miss Long, for the introduction." "It's not easy to cheat within the system. Dean Yan has the guts," she said sarcastically. "It's just about being free and easy, following your heart." "Not everyone has the luxury of following their heart. You have a good wife." He probably heard the underlying meaning and smiled, his expression truly composed. He took a sip of the freshly squeezed orange juice the waiter had just brought him. Lin Yao sensed something strange and quickly changed the subject, pulling a document from her bag and handing it to him. "I've...

Yan Bin hugged a young girl as they walked out of the elevator.

The two of them were so affectionate and cuddling that they didn't notice Long Weihe who had walked into the blind spot in the passage.

The person stopped as if something strange had struck her eyes, and looked back. They were walking in separate directions at a distance from the western restaurant, and the girl was coming towards her.

The floral scent of the freshener in the bathroom emitted a strong, pungent smell, and Long Weihe felt uncomfortable in her stomach.

The girl then came in, took out her makeup bag from the mirror, and didn't notice the glances from the people washing their hands next to her. She put on some lipstick, smoothed her hair, and left in less than two minutes.

Long Weihe immediately called Zhang Ziye and asked her to send a photo of Qi Yue. The original resume didn't have a photo, and later, Tan Ming and Zhang Ziye arranged the interview, so she had never met the person.

Zhang Ziye was still working overtime at the company. He took out Qi Yue's employment application form with her photo attached to it, took a photo of it and sent it to her.

Looking at the photo, she confirmed it was her.

She recalled the last time Mrs. Yan sat across from her, saying he came here to pave the way for their daughter's future, and repeatedly expressing her concern that he would have no way back. She probably didn't know that he was having an affair with someone else, and that she, Long Weihe, was paving the way for their affair.

Hypocrite, deceitful.

A surge of anger rushed to her head, and she laughed at herself in front of the bathroom mirror, "What I, Longweihe, recruited was not a talent, but a bastard."

She couldn't tell how long she had been in the restroom when Lin Yao called to urge her, "Dean Yan is here."

She returned to the restaurant, her complexion struggling to return to normal.

Yan Bin stood up and said, "Miss Long, we meet again."

His hair was styled with hairspray, and he was wearing a pure white polo shirt and dark jeans. His glasses were polished and he looked much more energetic than the last time I saw him.

"See you again."

She suppressed her discomfort and quickly moved away the moment he was about to raise his hand to shake hers, sitting down opposite him.

"Mrs. Yan didn't come with us this time?" She asked, staring into his eyes.

"No. She's busy."

"Excuse me, how did you convince your wife?"

"It wasn't about persuasion, it was about negotiation. I discussed it with Ms. Long in the same way she had done the analysis. I can see through the system at a glance. This new opportunity is a new experience and a new challenge, and she supports it. Thank you Ms. Long for the introduction."

"It's not easy to go off the rails within the system. Dean Yan has the guts," she said sarcastically.

"It's just about being free and easy and choosing what you want."

"Not everyone has the luxury of choosing what they want. You have a good wife."

He probably heard the hidden meaning and smiled, looking really calm. As if nothing had happened, he took the freshly squeezed orange juice that the waiter had just brought and took a sip.

Lin Yao sensed something was amiss and quickly changed the subject. She took out a document from her bag and handed it to him. "I brought two copies of the letter of intent drafted by the hospital. Would you like to review it, Dean Yan?"

He had actually already read the electronic version, so he took it and carefully read it over again. "Please help me review it. I trust your expertise. Sign now?"

"Now..." Lin Yao took out the pen he was going to give him and prepared to hand it to him for signature.

Long Weihe interrupted, "Let's go to the hospital tomorrow to sign. It would be more appropriate to sign in front of the recruiting team, and it would also have a sense of ceremony. What do you think, Dean Yan?"

"I don't care. I'll follow your arrangements." He crossed his arms and smiled obscurely.

The beautifully packaged pen case had already been taken out, and Lin Yao simply handed it to him, "I picked a pen especially for you. I wish you a new and glorious future and all the best."

He took it and said, "Thank you! The team at the hospital still needs to be strengthened. After I arrive, several departments will need to be optimized. I'd appreciate it if you could help me find someone."

He threw some candy in return.

Long Weihe didn't say anything else. Lin Yao chatted with him about joining the company for a while and then the conversation soon ended.

He left first, and the two of them asked the waiter to get a parking ticket.

"What's wrong? It's weird. Why is the signing of the letter of intent delayed until tomorrow?" Lin Yao asked after leaving the restaurant.

"You bastard! I went to the bathroom and saw him having sex with what he called his niece. It's unbelievable. He lied to me and said it was his niece."

Lin Yaoda was speechless. He pressed the elevator button from down to up, and then pressed it again.

When they got to the basement, they couldn't remember where they parked the car, so they went in the wrong direction. They felt dizzy, and their high heels made a messy noise on the painted floor. It took them a while to find the car.

"What should we do next?" Long Wei closed the car, took off her high heels and changed into a pair of slippers.

"What else can we do? It's already late, let's move forward!" Lin Yao started the train.

"Move forward? I can't."

Lin Yao glanced at her and swerved the car. "You're not planning on abandoning the order now, are you?"

She frowned and said nothing. Since this involved the distribution of interests between the two of them and Tan Ming, any ideas she had to go through the proper procedures and have an internal discussion.

"Ask Tan Ming to come out."

"Now? Just pretend you didn't see it." Lin Yao realized what she was thinking and disagreed.

"I dug the man out, I can't be blind."

The road forked ahead, and Lin Yao took the wrong road and couldn't turn around, so she drove for a short distance and then simply parked the car on the side.

"It's already this time, let's just focus on the business itself. Don't think too much." Lin Yao also had a headache.

"His improper relationship violates medical ethics. If exposed, it would have a negative impact on the hospital's reputation and the trust of the team. I was the one who made this recommendation, so I can't help but think about it."

Lin Yao turned to look at her. "The candidate's private life information is protected by law. We can't say anything to the recruiter without permission, and it's not appropriate to discuss it with the candidate himself."

She was silent for a while, closing her eyes and thinking.

Lin Yao continued, "Remember the lawsuit against K Hunter last year? The candidate who hired them had an extramarital affair, and the client wanted to unilaterally cancel the contract and sued K Hunter for compensation for their service fees. What did the court rule in the end? They lost! Because the contract didn't cover the private ethics clause. In our case, the contract didn't explicitly require an investigation into his personal conduct. His private life wasn't covered by the background check."

"Call Tan Ming out and discuss it together." She insisted.

Lin Yao exhaled towards the car's owner and took out his phone, "Okay, I'll call him."

At around ten o'clock in the evening, the three met at Lin Yao's house.

"The private lives of candidates are so weird. Who can see through them? We have to separate it from work. We are headhunters, not wives. Why should we care about their private affairs?" Tan Ming said, leaning against the bookshelf opposite the sofa with his arms folded.

He didn't think it was a big deal.

"He's hypocritical and has bad character. Can he be separated from his work?"

Seeing her face darken, Tan Ming softened his casual attitude. He glanced at Lin Yao, who was sitting silently on the sofa, cleared his throat, and said slowly, "Sister Wei, we're looking for people based on the standards set by our clients, and their standards don't include requirements for private lives. Clients may not care. As for hypocrisy, adults don't see things in black and white. Everyone wears a mask."

"As a hospital director, I don't believe his job is clean if his private life is so corrupt."

Tan Ming sat down on the sofa. "We've done a thorough background check. One instructor has mentored so many students and worked on so many projects. The hospital management is outstanding, with no medical accidents or corruption. Even details like the patient evaluation are superior to others. Clients only look at these things. Other things are just like the wife who doesn't care about anything else. Let's ignore them, Sister Wei."

"I can't forget that he lied to me about finding a job for his mistress. I don't want to support a man like him."

"As for men, some affairs are impulsive, affecting the lower body. Work is a matter of the brain. The lower body and the brain are two different things. Cheating doesn't mean poor work performance. There are so many successful men..."

"Tan Ming!"

Lin Yao interrupted.

She knew that this remark had hurt Long Weihe. When Qian Pingtao cheated on her, he had always said that he was impulsive.

Tan Ming realized it and stopped talking.

Lin Yao stood up and handed her a bottle of mineral water. "What do you think?"

"I was the one who dug the man out. I felt like I had dug a hole for his wife. I saw that he made a serious mistake, and I couldn't hand him over to Zhuo Rui. I don't want to help such a bastard."

"His character has nothing to do with you digging him out. Who knows what's going on between him and his wife?" Lin Yao paced back and forth. "Think rationally. It's too late now. There's no room or time for maneuver."

"I'm sorry, I abandoned this person. I hope you will support me."
