Chapter 449 Lost Memories

Chapter 449 Lost Memories

The sunlight cuts obliquely into the glass curtain wall of the office building, creating dazzling spots of light on the metal surface of the elevator door.

The elevator door slowly opened to both sides, and Xiang Fu walked out in a suit and tie, wearing shiny leather shoes and holding a folder.

The teahouse belonging to Lu Heng is located on the top floor of Hengyi Group. No other employees walk around here and no one knows of his existence.

After knocking on the glass door and getting a response, Xiang Fu pushed the door open and placed the folder on the side of the tea table.

"Mr. Lu, the Bai family has been making a lot of small moves recently, especially focusing on the southwest region development project that the group is carrying out."

"Tell me more in detail." Lu Heng made tea calmly, with a calmness that made him remain unmoved even if the sky fell.

"Recently, someone has been spotted hanging around the development site in the southwest area. Investigation confirmed they are from the Bai family."

"Does Jingyao know about this?"

"I've received the news."

"Well, let him handle it. Don't interfere unless it's absolutely necessary."

"Understood." Xiang Fu nodded. Without receiving any other instructions, he asked tentatively, "Don't we need to intimidate the Bai family?"

Lu Heng snorted coldly, his dark eyes gleaming with a cold light. "Don't bother with ants that can't stir up any waves."

Xiang Fuming nodded, glanced at the time, and reminded: "Mr. Lu, you have an appointment with Dr. Ke at 10 o'clock. It's time to leave."

"Yeah." Lu Heng put down the teacup, picked up the bracelet beside him, put it back on his wrist, and got up to go out.

Today is still hypnotherapy.

The assistant made a cup of calming tea for Lu Heng and left. Kenai sat at his desk and looked through the records of last week's treatment.

I casually asked, "Did you dream about anything this week?"

Lu Heng slowly crossed his legs, always with the air of a superior no matter where he was. "No, I haven't had any dreams recently."

Kenai nodded in understanding. "Have a cup of tea and relax. The hypnosis will begin in ten minutes."

"Yeah." Lu Heng responded lightly, stopped talking, picked up the teacup and took a few sips.

The phone on the table suddenly vibrated. He took a look and found that it was a message from Meng Anran.

[Meng Anran: Are you busy today? Any plans for lunch? Qin Mu said he cooked for us himself. Do you want to come over for dinner?]

The grim-faced King of Hell's expression suddenly relaxed, and a barely perceptible smile appeared on his lips.

Kone, who was good at catching other people's micro-expressions, quickly noticed it and couldn't help but chuckle.

It seems that a message from Meng Anran is more effective than this cup of calming tea.

Lu Heng replied: [Are you back?]

Meng Anran: Master gave me two days off. I came back yesterday and will be leaving tomorrow. So, would you like to come to lunch? If it's not convenient, I can come to visit you.

【Lu Heng: Come.】

[Meng Anran: Okay, then we'll wait for you at home.]

Less than two seconds later, she added, "This is Riverside No. 9. Don't go to the wrong place. The security door downstairs is locked because it's my birthday. You can come up by yourself when the time comes."

"Seeing that you have relaxed, let's start the treatment." Konai adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses, a gentle smile spreading across his thin lips.

Lu Heng lay on the sofa, listening to Conai's gentle voice and fantasizing in his mind.

"You appeared in a vast meadow. Suddenly, you saw a door not far away..."

"You walked over and opened the door."

"Tell me, what did you see?"

Lu Heng's eyes moved rapidly, and his thin lips moved slightly: "People, a lot of people."

"What kind of person?" Conai asked.

Lu Heng frowned slightly, as if trying to see the surroundings clearly. "The doctor, nurse, and housekeeper are here too."

Conai wrote them down one by one in a notebook, and the scene was a hospital.

"Should the butler come to greet you or take you inside?"

"None of that. There's a ten-year-old boy with him. That seems to be... me?"

The questioning tone made Kenai's pupils tremble. It seemed that Lu Heng had found the lost memory.

Ten years old, hospital.

Could it be when Meng Anran was born?

Conai pressed on: "You followed the butler and the boy to a certain place. Tell me where it is."

In a hypnotic state, Lu Heng's consciousness traveled through time and space and returned to that gloomy afternoon fifteen years ago.

Ten-year-old Lu Heng, wearing a neat little suit, already looked a bit like a little adult.

The smell of disinfectant in the hospital corridor made him wrinkle his nose, and the pale light on the wall hurt his eyes.

"Young Master, the Madam is in the third room up ahead." Butler Chen smiled down at him, a few deep wrinkles forming at the corners of his eyes. "You'll be able to see your little brother or sister soon."

Little Lu Heng nodded, but his attention was suddenly attracted by a fierce quarrel at the end of the corridor.

A red-faced man was yelling at the door of the clinic, and several nurses tried to dissuade him.

"What happened over there?" Little Lu Heng looked over curiously.

"It's nothing, let's keep going." Butler Chen wanted to pull him away, but little Lu Heng had already broken free from his hand and moved a few steps towards the direction of the commotion.

The door of the clinic suddenly opened and a doctor in a white coat walked out. The male doctor was tall and wore black-framed glasses.

"We've tried our best." The doctor's voice was tired but restrained. "Your father's condition..."

"Liar!" the man suddenly roared, his voice echoing in the corridor, "You killed my father!"

Little Lu Heng froze in place, watching the man pull out a small knife that gleamed with a cold light from his pocket.

Time seemed to suddenly slow down, and he saw the surrounding patients take a step back in horror.

"Be careful!" someone screamed.

The knife flashed.

Blood splattered on the white wall like a blooming flower of evil.

One of the female nurses was stabbed in the abdomen while protecting a patient, and the blood quickly dyed her white coat red.

Another male doctor rushed out from the crowd, shouting the female nurse's name.

Lu Heng couldn't hear clearly.

He tried to grab the attacker but his throat was slashed.

Heart-wrenching cries echoed in the hospital.

Little Lu Heng's eyes were wide open, his lips were trembling, but he couldn't make any sound.

He couldn't take his eyes off the pool of blood spreading on the ground.

The medical couple fell together, their blood mixing together to form a terrifying dark red lake.

"Don't look!" Butler Chen suddenly covered his eyes.

Screams, running, and sirens mixed together to form a shrill buzzing sound.

Little Lu Heng felt dizzy, his vision went dark, and he lost consciousness.
