Chapter 458 Poisoning
The door of Ma Zhuo's house was already crowded with people, and noisy discussions were coming like a tide.
Meng Anran followed behind Zhao Cizhen. As soon as she stepped over the threshold, she heard a heart-wrenching scream coming from inside the house.
"Hold her down! Hold her down!"
The room was dimly lit and the air was filled with a strong smell of blood.
Ma Zhuo's wife Zhang Xiu fell to the ground, her limbs twitching violently, and she slapped the ground frantically like a fish thrown ashore.
Her nails had scratched her arms, as evidenced by the bloodstains. There was white foam mixed with blood at the corners of her mouth, and her teeth were chattering, as if she was about to bite off her tongue in the next second.
"Get out of the way!" Zhao Ci Zheng shouted, stepped forward and grabbed Zhang Xiu's wrist.
Zhang Xiu was incredibly strong, and with his sudden struggle, he almost knocked Zhao Ci Zheng over.
Meng Anran's heart tightened, and she immediately rushed over to help, holding Zhang Xiu's shoulders tightly.
But Zhang Xiu's body seemed to be controlled by an invisible force, her muscles were as taut as iron, and her nails scratched the back of Meng Anran's hand, leaving a blood mark in an instant.
"Master! She is too strong!" Meng Anran gritted his teeth and shouted, feeling the urge to knock her out.
Zhao Ci Zheng's eyes darkened, and his right hand moved like lightning, with three fingers pressed hard against the Fengchi point on the back of Zhang Xiu's neck.
Zhang Xiu's whole body trembled, and then he struggled even more frantically. White foam continued to flow out of his mouth, and the color of his blood became increasingly darker.
"Something's wrong!" Zhao Cizheng's face suddenly changed. "This isn't just ordinary epilepsy!"
Meng Anran's heart skipped a beat.
Not epilepsy? What is it?
The crowd outside the house was in an uproar. Some were recording the scene live on their phones, while others were whispering in fear, "Could it be... possessed by an evil spirit?"
"What nonsense!" Zhao Ci Zheng shouted angrily, but at the critical moment his right hand began to tremble slightly and became uncontrollable.
The woman's eyes suddenly widened, her pupils shrank to the size of a needle tip, and she stared straight at the roof, squeezing out a few broken syllables from her throat: "Save... me..."
The next second, her body suddenly arched up like a fully drawn bow, and then fell heavily to the ground with a dull thud.
Meng Anran's body trembled suddenly, and she suddenly recalled the last time Lu Yi lost control of his epilepsy in Lihua Garden and shouted: "Kill me..."
She unconsciously clenched her fists, her palms covered in sweat.
"Hold her down! Don't let her hurt herself!" Zhao Ci Zheng shouted, pulling Meng Anran's thoughts back.
Ma Zhuo and several young and strong boys held down Zhang Xiu's limbs, while Zhao Cizhen pinched Zhang Xiu's cheeks and forced her to open her mouth to prevent her from biting off her tongue when she went crazy.
"An Ran! Three-pointed needle! Bleeding from the ten points! Hurry!" Zhao Ci Zheng's voice was hoarse.
Cold sweat soaked Meng Anran's back. She quickly calmed down, took out the three-pointed needle, grabbed Zhang Xiu's finger and pierced it with the needle.
Blood oozed out, but it was not the normal bright red color, but a dark red that was almost black, and so sticky that it seemed to have solidified.
"This..." Meng Anran's pupils suddenly shrank.
Zhao Cizhen's expression changed completely. He suddenly pulled open Zhang Xiu's collar, and saw a strange purple bruise suddenly appearing below her collarbone.
It is shaped like a spider web and is spreading at a speed visible to the naked eye.
"Sure enough," Zhao Cizheng's face was heavy, some of her suspicions confirmed, "She's been poisoned."
The room suddenly became dead silent.
Ma Zhuo's legs went limp and he collapsed to the ground. "No... Impossible, she didn't eat anything today..."
Zhao Ci Zheng didn't bother to explain. She grabbed the medicine box, took out the detoxifying herbs, and prepared the medicine at a rapid speed.
But Zhang Xiu's breathing became weaker and weaker, and his pupils began to dilate.
"It's too late to boil the medicine!" Meng Anran frowned and shouted, "Master, just use the needle to force the poison out!"
Zhao Ci Zheng suddenly looked up, and the eyes of the master and disciple met in the air.
At that moment, Meng Anran saw the determination and trust in his master's eyes.
"Okay." Zhao Cizheng grabbed a handful of silver needles and stuffed them into her hand. Her voice was as low as thunder: "Listen carefully, Quchi acupoint, Weizhong acupoint, Xuehai acupoint... Every needle will draw blood!"
Meng Anran calmed his mind and started to stab the needle.
It seemed like something was wriggling under Zhang Xiu's skin. As the silver needle pierced into her, a stream of black blood spurted out from the needle hole and splashed onto Meng Anran's hand, hot as hot oil.
Finally, when the last needle fell, Zhang Xiu's body trembled violently, and then completely collapsed.
She opened her eyes.
"I... hurt..." Her voice was so weak that it was almost inaudible.
Ma Zhuo rushed over and hugged his wife, crying loudly, "I was scared to death... I almost thought you..."
Zhao Ci Zheng staggered back a step, holding onto the wall, his forehead covered in cold sweat.
Meng Anran looked down at his bloody hands, let out a long sigh, wiped them casually on his robe, and quickly walked over to support his master.
The crowd outside the house breathed a sigh of relief and applauded.
No one noticed that a sinister glint flashed in the eyes of the simply dressed woman in the corner.
She turned and walked away, making a phone call: "The plan failed."
It was sunny just now, but it started raining without me noticing.
The raindrops hit the iron roof, making a dense and crisp sound.
Meng Anran stared at her slightly trembling fingers. The black blood had already solidified, forming hideous lines between her fingers.
She suddenly found it difficult to breathe, as if something was strangling her throat.
Speaking of poison, her mind uncontrollably replayed the scene of Lu Yi twitching on the bed and Tian Xiaoyu vomiting blood and fainting.
Could it be that Zhang Xiu also took that damn "health product"?
"Master..." Her voice was so hoarse that it didn't sound like her own. "This poison..."
Zhao Cizheng wiped the silver needle with a cloth, her movements slow and heavy, as if she had guessed her concerns. "It's different. First, make a mung bean and licorice soup. Make it thicker."
"Okay." Meng Anran got a clear answer, breathed a sigh of relief, and stood up mechanically, but her legs suddenly went soft.
A warm hand supported her in time. Zhao An followed her without her knowing, holding a medicine jar in his hand.
"You should take a rest." Zhao An said softly, "I'll go make some medicine."
Meng Anran had just consumed too much physical energy, and he was also worried about what kind of poison it was, so he was now mentally exhausted.
Then he stopped forcing her and said, "Thank you for your hard work."
After carrying Zhang Xiu back to bed and putting her there, Ma Zhuo tiptoed out, tears still on his face. "Mr. Zhao, Ah Xiu said she had no appetite today and didn't eat anything. How could she suddenly be poisoned?"
"If I haven't eaten anything, then what should I drink?" Zhao Cizheng asked in a calm voice, looking a little tired.
"She usually only drinks water at home..." Ma Zhuo seemed to have suddenly thought of something and said in shock, "Her brother brought some soup over today, saying it's very nourishing. I saw the pot of soup wasn't big, so I thought I'd leave it all for her. It couldn't be her brother..."
It is unbelievable that a brother would poison his sister.
How heartless and ungrateful must one be to do such a wicked thing?
At this moment, Zhao An came out of the kitchen carrying a soup pot. "Is this it?"
Ma Zhuo clapped his hands together and said, "Yes, that's it!"
Meng Anran hurried over to take the soup pot, unscrewed the lid and poured the residue directly onto the ground. After squinting her eyes to identify what it was, her pupils suddenly constricted.
"Master, it's an Amanita muscaria!"
