Chapter 33 What is the real reason why you left the Lu family?

Chapter 33 What is the real reason why you left the Lu family?

Ming Jing did know some information. "I heard that he's not from Beijing. His parents died young, and he lives with his aunt. His aunt is from Shanghai. I don't know her name. He never mentioned it, and no one can find out. It's very mysterious. I only know that he is a young man from a wealthy family."

"Shanghai Circle? That means Hai City?" Liu Zhi was confused. "Why did you come all the way from Hai City to study in Beijing? What's the point?"

Ming Jing shrugged. "Who knows? Noble middle schools are rare, and our school also has many students from other provinces. Maybe they were sent here specifically for Tu Shenghua's education?"

Meng Anran pondered for a moment. Although Duan Jingyao was strange, it had nothing to do with her. She didn't even know this person, so he couldn't be coming for her.

She stopped worrying and relaxed her brows. "Don't worry about it for now. get out of class is almost over. Let's take a walk and then go change clothes."

The three of them mounted their horses and rode leisurely on the grassland with Hongchen as their companion. After practicing riding the horses for a while, they went to change their clothes and prepare for the next class.

As luck would have it, Meng Anran changed her clothes and came out of the locker room, and ran into the sinister Duan Jingyao that Liu Zhi and Ming Jing had talked about.

"Mr. Lu, I've long heard of your name." Duan Jingyao pulled a smile from his thin lips, his eyes filled with smiles, but there was no smile in them.

Meng Anran curled her lips, seemingly without hostility, "My last name is Meng, not Lu. Did Duan come here to change clothes for equestrian class? Or did he wait for me here specifically?"

"Both," Duan Jingyao said frankly. "There have been a lot of rumors in our grade lately, saying that classmate Meng left the Lu family for three million. In my opinion, classmate Meng is smart and far-sighted, and she shouldn't give up long-term glory for short-term gains."

Meng Anran narrowed her eyes slightly, but soon returned to normal. She smiled and said, "Since you also know it's just a rumor, why bother telling me this?"

"So, what is the real reason why you left the Lu family?" Duan Jingyao's expression remained unchanged, but Meng Anran sensed a hint of danger in his eyes.

She answered frankly: "If I said it was to find my relatives, would you believe me?"

"I don't believe it."

"Since you don't believe it even if I tell you, why bother asking?"

Meng Anran raised her eyebrows slightly, and without wasting any more words with him, she walked past him.

Duan Jingyao's eyes paused, and the smile on his face disappeared. He turned around and stared at the figure walking away, with an undisguised sinister look in his eyes.

Meng Anran returned to the classroom and sat down. She unscrewed the water bottle and took a sip, reviewing the conversation in her mind.

Liu Zhi and Ming Jing's feeling was right. There was not a single flaw in Duan Jingyao's words. He had a smile on his face but his eyes were vicious, revealing a subtle hostility. He was mysterious and dangerous, making it impossible to guess who he was.

Logically speaking, the other children from wealthy families are not blind. If Duan Jingyao's abnormal behavior is so obvious, how could there be so many people in his grade who are chasing after him?

The only possibility is that he hid it very well, but he couldn't hide it at all in front of her, and he also showed some hostility towards the people around her.

He was hostile to her.

But Meng Anran didn't quite understand. Today was her first face-to-face conversation with Duan Jingyao; they had never crossed paths before. She was from Beijing, Duan Jingyao from Shanghai; they were completely unrelated and had never met outside of school.

Then how did she offend Duan Jingyao?

Just because of his poor academic performance, he was defeated for two years?

Not really?

If you think about it, he just asked her why she left the Lu family, and he seemed to care about the reason why she left the Lu family.

It is somewhat unbelievable that a Shanghainese person cares about the gossip about wealthy families in Beijing.

Could it be that he has a grudge against the Lu family?

But if he had a grudge against the Lu family, why would he come looking for her? If he had to deal with someone, he should have dealt with the real daughter Lu Qingcheng.

Meng Anran couldn't figure it out, so she decided not to think about it anymore. She would know what she needed to know sooner or later.

"An Ran, do you want to go to my winery for a drink tonight?"

Liu Zhi sat down on Meng Anran's desk. Ming Jing was so scared that he quickly pulled up his school uniform jacket to cover her legs.

I couldn't help but mutter: "Liuzhi! Can you please pay attention to your image when wearing a short skirt?"

"What do you care?" Liu Zhi hated being lectured. She glared at him, but still reached out and tugged at the coat covering her legs. Turning to Meng Anran, she continued, "Come on, come on. My winery has been open for so long and I haven't seen you come. Don't wait until it closes down before you come."

Ming Jing rolled his eyes. "Are you so confident in yourself? Do you know that the winery is bound to fail?"

Liu Zhi tutted and slapped Ming Jing on the arm. "I'm talking to An Ran, why are you butting in? You said you'd get me a batch of new wine, but you didn't follow through. I still haven't settled the score with you for that!"

Ming Jing leaned on the other desk, facing Liu Zhi. "I can't help it. The other party was found to have evaded taxes, so this deal suddenly fell through. It's not like I didn't give it to you on purpose. I'll make it up to you next time I find some good wine, okay?"

"That's more like it."

Listening to the two people bickering, Meng Anran suddenly remembered that when Liu Zhi found out about the child marriage in elementary school, she was so angry that she went to fight with Ming Jing and took off Ming Jing's pants in public.

Mingjing felt ashamed and cried so hard that he locked himself in his room and didn't go to school for a week.

In the end, it was Liuzhi who came to Mingjing's house with a bag full of snacks and admitted her mistake. It took much persuasion to appease Mingjing.

Meng Anran lowered her head and covered her mouth with her hands to laugh. This pair of enemies have been fighting since they were young. No wonder Liu Zhi only regarded Ming Jing as a good brother in her heart.

"Hey, Anran, don't just watch the fun!" Liu Zhi saw Meng Anran laughing so happily and reached out to poke her shoulder. "You haven't answered me yet. Are you going or not? I'll prepare some 1982 grape juice for you."

"Isn't 1982 grape juice just wine? She's not even an adult yet. If you dare let her drink, aren't you afraid that Qin Mu will punish you?"

Ming Jing laughed and teased. Everyone knew that Meng Anran was the apple of Qin Mu's eye. He would have to get rid of anything that was even slightly detrimental to her before he could feel at ease.

If Liu Zhi dares to give Meng Anran alcohol, then Liu Zhi will become the next harmful item to be eliminated by Qin Mu.

Willow argued, "I'm just saying! Pure grape juice, freshly squeezed, okay?"

"You two stop arguing. I can't go tonight. Lu Heng asked me to have dinner with him." Meng Anran said leisurely.

"What?!"

Liu Zhi immediately jumped off the table, as if she had heard some devastating news. Her voice couldn't help but rise a few notches: "Why is Mr. Lu getting involved again?"

Ming Jing patted Meng Anran's shoulder with a determined look, a look of sorrow as if he was about to send her off to the battlefield. "Anran, I have a piece of gold-threaded soft armor at home. I'll have someone steal it out for you. Good luck tonight."
