42 The Princess Who Can't Communicate

The spacious hall was brightly lit, and there was a pool in the middle of the room. A dozen red-scaled fish were hunting for food in the pool. The sound of the water and the light smoke from the incense burner made this extremely luxurious hall look a bit fairy-like.

As soon as Yu Xiaoxiao entered the hall, she stared at the fish swimming in the pond.

Jing Mo walked to Yu Xiaoxiao's side and asked with a smile, "Princess, do you love this koi?"

Yu Xiaoxiao nodded. These fish looked delicious.

Seeing Yu Xiaoxiao nod, Jing Mo immediately ordered the guards behind him, "Send these koi to the princess's mansion later."

"Yes," the guard responded loudly.

Gu Xinglang was not happy in his heart, but seeing Yu Xiaoxiao staring at the koi in the water, he swallowed the words of refusal back into his stomach.

"Please sit down," Jing Mo invited Yu Xiaoxiao and Gu Xinglang to sit down. Seeing Xiaozhuang and Xiaowei carrying Gu Xinglang to the table, he began to mock Gu Xinglang, "It seems that the prince consort has already taken a seat. How is the prince consort's foot injury?"

Gu Xinglang just glanced at Jing Mo coldly without saying anything.

Yu Xiaoxiao withdrew her gaze from the pool, looked at Jing Mo and said seriously: "His foot will heal."

Jing Mo asked, "Who is the princess's teacher?"

Yu Xiaoxiao turned around and walked towards Gu Xinglang. The instructor who trained her to be a talent was no longer in this world. How should she answer this? Silence is golden.

Seeing Yu Xiaoxiao ignoring her master's questions, the guards beside Jing Mo were about to attack, but were stopped by Jing Mo with a raised hand.

Gu Xinglang and Yu Xiaoxiao's seats were separated, one in front and one in the back, with Yu Xiaoxiao in the front and Gu Xinglang in the back. However, Yu Xiaoxiao did not understand the rule of sitting alone, and sat directly next to Gu Xinglang without even looking at the empty table.

Gu Xinglang, Jing Mo, and everyone else in the hall were stunned.

Yu Xiaoxiao sat down and looked at Gu Xinglang's lips. The lips were full of lip wrinkles due to lack of water. Yu Xiaoxiao poured a glass of water, brought it to Gu Xinglang's mouth, and said, "Drink some water."

Gu Xinglang wanted to shake his head. With so many outsiders present, it would be impolite for them to behave like this. But when he caught a glimpse of Jing Mo who was looking at them, Gu Xinglang opened his mouth and took a sip of water from Yu Xiaoxiao's hand.

Yu Xiao: "Drink some more."

Gu Xinglang was really obedient and drank another half glass of water.

Jing Mo's eyes were slightly cold, but he still had a smile on his face, and he said, "Her Royal Highness is getting married, it's a pity that I came a little late and didn't see the grand ceremony of the princess's wedding with her red makeup."

Yu Xiaoxiao lowered her head and turned the teacup in her hand, waiting for the meal to be served. As for the "grand occasion" of her wedding, forget it. She just remembered that she had a fight with Zhao Qiu Ming's gang, and a thunderbolt still didn't kill that woman, Concubine Zhao.

Jing Mo said: "Princess, do you have something to tell me?"

Gu Xinglang put his hand under the table and gently patted Yu Xiaoxiao's hand. As for Yu Ziyi's matter, they'd better listen to what Jing Mo meant before making any plans.

Yu Xiaoxiao looked up at Prince Jing and said, "Didn't you say you would treat me to a meal? Where is the food?"

Once these words came out, the atmosphere was no longer one of conversation. Jing Mo stared at Yu Xiaoxiao inquiringly. It seemed that this Linglong Princess did not seem to be completely without any means. He smiled and clapped his hands. Jing Mo said to Yu Xiaoxiao: "I neglected the princess. It's my fault."

The maids filed into the hall and served dishes to the guests. As more dishes were placed on the table, Yu Xiaoxiao's eyes curved more and more downwards. With so many dishes, including meat, fish and shrimps, Yu Xiaoxiao's eyes finally smiled into two crescent moons. Just by looking at these dishes, Yu Xiaoxiao was sure that this trip was not in vain.

Gu Xinglang looked at Yu Xiaoxiao's appearance, then at the dishes in front of him, and felt that he seemed to have an appetite too.

Jing Mo picked up the wine glass and said politely, "Your Highness, Princess, please."

When Yu Xiaoxiao heard Jing Mo say please, she immediately picked up the chopsticks and started eating the meat.

"I..." Jing Mo's next words were stuck in his throat.

The royal family prefers quality over quantity when eating. The dishes in front of Yu Xiaoxiao are all served on white jade plates. They don't look like dishes, but rather like carefully painted paintings. It's a pity that Yu Xiaoxiao doesn't have eyes to discover beautiful things. People on the battlefield eat fast. When Yu Xiaoxiao cleared the dishes on the table in no time, Gu Xinglang didn't even have a bite.

Jing Mo looked at Yu Xiaoxiao first, and then at the empty white jade plate on the table. Although Yu Xiaoxiao's eating manners were not ugly, this time Prince Jing was really shocked.

Yu Xiaoxiao dipped her chopsticks in the meat stew and took a sip. She said to Jing Mo, "I'm not full."

Jing Mo...

Yu Xiaoxiao looked down at Gu Xinglang's chopsticks, which were not stained with any oil, and said, "The uncle just now said that you cleared out the restaurant to treat Gu Xinglang and me to dinner today. Is that a lie?"

Jing Mo said: "Princess, what do you want to say?"

"The portion of this dish is so small," Yu Xiaoxiao poked an empty plate on her left hand with chopsticks and said to Jing Mo, "Who would eat here if it's so dishonest? This restaurant deserves to close down. Did the boss rip you off?"

Everyone...

Yu Xiaoxiao turned around and said to Gu Xinglang, "Let's find another restaurant later. I have money, and I'll treat you to a good meal."

Gu Xinglang was confused. It was always the men who supported the family, so why was it his wife who invited him to dinner?

"Princess, be careful with your words!" At this time, one of Jing Mo's accompanying staff members came to his senses and said loudly to Yu Xiaoxiao: "Who can kill the prince of Zhu Ri Shang Kingdom?"

"What?" Yu Xiao: "Someone wants to kill Jing Mo?"

"You," the staff was very angry and felt that the princess of Fengtian was acting crazy.

"Don't be unreasonable," Jing Mo raised his hand and told the aide standing behind him to shut up. Yu Xiaoxiao said the word "kill", but Jing Mo felt that it did not mean to kill.

"Who wants to kill you?" Yu Xiaoxiao asked Jing Mo seriously. She remembered that at that time, there were seven or eight princes fighting for the throne, and the eldest prince Jing had a hard time.

Jing Mo laughed and said, "Your Highness, are you worried about me?"

Yu Xiaoxiao nodded. Even if she didn't want to be his mistress, she wouldn't be happy just to see this man die.

"Bring another table of fine wine and delicious food," Jing Mo ordered his attendants, and after thinking for a moment, he added, "The more portions, the better."

Oh yeah, Yu Xiaoxiao was full of anticipation, waiting for the second table of dishes to be served.

Jing Mo said: "Princess, do you have anything to say about the Seventh Prince?"

Yu Xiao: "It's not a good idea to talk about business while eating. Let's talk about this after dinner."

Before meeting Yu Xiaoxiao, Jing Mo had never met someone who could repeatedly make him speechless.

Gu Xinglang took the cup and drank water. Although he and his wife often had trouble communicating, seeing Prince Jing choking and unable to speak, Young Master Gu felt very refreshed.
