Chapter 1: School Starts

Chapter 1: School Starts

It is September, the summer heat has not yet faded, the sky is blue, and there is a hint of heat in the air. Today is the day for freshmen to report for high school.

Xu Yucheng looked at the person lying in the car.

The boy's facial features were three-dimensional, his eyebrows were slightly raised, some messy hair was scattered on his forehead, his eyes were closed, and the dark circles under his eyes showed fatigue.

The driver in front reminded, "Why don't you wake up the young master?"

He fell asleep as soon as he got in the car.

Xu Yucheng responded and reached out to pat him gently.

Zhou Yichen was woken up in a daze and was feeling unhappy. But when he opened his eyes and saw the person in front of him, the anger instantly dissipated.

His dark eyes softened a little, and his voice was as lazy as if he had just woken up. "Chengcheng, why didn't you call me when you arrived?"

"You're so sleepy, why don't you rest at home?"

He sat up and rubbed his temples with his fingers. "Your school starts today. I promised to come and see you off."

"I heard that freshmen have to undergo military training. Were you also doing that?"

Zhou Yichen is one year older than me and is a sophomore in high school at No. 1 Middle School.

"Well, the military training lasts seven days, and you are required to live in school during these seven days. After the training is over, you can make your own choice."

Xu Yucheng nodded in understanding, and then heard him say again.

"If you don't want to live on campus, you don't have to."

“Will the school give it?”

"If you say so, I will give it to you."

Under normal circumstances, this is definitely not allowed, but this morning Zhou Yichen heard that his father donated an experimental building to the school, so he asked a question.

His father responded like this: "Chengcheng has started school. Donating a building to the school will give her more confidence."

I still remember when he just started school, he felt that there was no need to go home after military training. His father said that if you are a man, you should endure more hardships.

His own son seems a little redundant.

Xu Yucheng didn't understand what he meant. What did he mean by "I will give it to you"?

Still speaking out loud, "I want to experience what it's like to live on campus."

"That's fine." Zhou Yichen got out of the car to help her with her luggage. "If anything happens during the military training, remember to call me."

After a pause, he said, "You can fight even if you have nothing to do."

She squeezed the phone in her bag and said, "I'm afraid my phone will be confiscated."

"Just don't take it out during military training. No teacher will check it."

Xu Yucheng had always believed in him unconditionally since childhood, "Okay."

Zhou Yichen dragged her suitcase to the door and patiently reminded her, "Remember to eat breakfast in the morning and don't drink cold drinks."

"knew!"

Her parents are busy with work and are on business trips almost all year round. Her mother and Zhou Yichen's mother are good friends, and the fathers of both families are also good brothers. Her parents were worried about her being alone, so they took her to live with Zhou Yichen.

There were teachers sitting under the awning at the school gate welcoming new students, with their classes marked on it.

Xu Yucheng followed him and stopped in front of the head teacher of Class 1 (3) of Senior High School.

She wanted to say hello to the teacher, but unexpectedly the teacher who was sitting at the desk stood up on his own initiative.

"Classmate Zhou! Why are you here? Doesn't the second year of high school start in a week?"

The teacher was obviously surprised when he saw Zhou Yichen.

"Old Liu." Zhou Yichen raised his eyebrows when he saw the person opposite him.

The male teacher who was called Lao Liu was not angry. Instead, he laughed and said, "Only you dare to call me that in front of me."

Xu Yucheng was standing aside, and from the tone of their voices, they seemed very familiar.

Old Liu noticed her and gave Zhou Yichen a look, "Give it away."

"Um."

I introduced myself to her, "I'm your homeroom teacher. My last name is Liu, so just call me Teacher Liu."

"Hello, Teacher Liu."

Xu Yucheng looks like the kind of good student who is obedient and studious, the type that teachers like the most.

After reporting at the door, Zhou Yichen dragged her suitcase to take her to the dormitory.

On the way, he reminded her, "Chengcheng, if you have anything, just tell me. Don't go to the class teacher."

"Okay." She thought he meant not to bother the head teacher.

"I'm afraid you'll be scared by him."

She was stunned for a moment, "Ah? But I think that teacher is easy to get along with."

When they got to the dormitory building, Zhou Yichen turned around and looked at her. "You'll know after a while. Call me anytime during the military training."

Xu Yucheng took the suitcase and smiled sweetly at him, "No problem."

"Your dormitory is the second one on the right on the first floor."

"Alright, alright, I'm not a kid anymore. Go back and get some sleep. You're looking like a panda with all those dark circles under your eyes."

She had a smile on her face.

Zhou Yichen watched her enter the dormitory before leaving.

Instead of going home, he went to the housing area near the school.

Xu Yucheng was the last one to arrive at the dormitory. There were already three people inside, all busy with their own things.

I walked to the empty bed at the back and started to open the suitcase and pack my things.

A girl on the bed closest to her took the initiative to speak.

"Hello, my name is Zheng Yu."

"My name is Xu Yucheng." A polite response.

The suitcase was filled with clothes, skin care products and food, and in the corner there was a small doll that Zhou Yichen had put in, everything was neatly arranged.

Just as she was about to take it out and put it in the cabinet, Zheng Yu beside her praised the inside of her suitcase.

"Xu Yucheng, you're so exquisite. Unlike me, my suitcase is full of food and a few short-sleeved shirts."

Xu Yucheng looked towards her box, and sure enough, there was nothing but food.

He smiled and said, "I wanted to bring a lot of food, but the suitcase can't hold it all."

She also prepared chocolate, but she didn't take it in the end.

Zheng Yu has short hair and a generous personality. She said, "I brought a lot, you can eat mine."

"Thank you." I didn't expect my new roommate to be so easy to get along with.

"Then I'll call you Orange from now on."

Orange? It was the first time someone called her that. She smiled and said, "Okay."

At this time, a sarcastic voice appeared.

"Heh—you're so familiar with me right after you arrived. Do they think I'm their friend?"

Xu Yucheng looked towards the person who was speaking.

Behind the dormitory door was a girl with wavy hair and red lips.

Zheng Yu had long been fed up with her. She came in early in the morning and acted arrogantly, creating an image of herself as a young lady.

She retorted directly, "Xia Qingqing! No one will think you're dumb if you don't speak. It's annoying!"

Xia Qingqing's face darkened instantly. The two of them had been arguing with each other since she arrived.

The girl who was making the bed for Xia Qingqing stood up and said helpfully, "Did the person who was talking not brush his teeth? His tone is so strong."

"That's right." Xia Qingqing's expression relaxed because of these words.

"Mischievous Zhao! Say it again if you dare!" Zheng Yu exploded.

"Who are you calling Zhao Xiaoren?"

"Of course it's you. You're the one fawning over me as soon as you get here."

As they shouted, the two sides started to fight, and Xia Qingqing also joined in.

The situation became intense. Xu Yucheng saw Zheng Yu's clothes being pulled up by them, and hurried over to help her.

Although she looks obedient, she grew up with Zhou Yichen and has seen more intense situations than this.

A melee between four people began.

Since the dormitory was on the first floor, it quickly attracted a lot of onlookers.
