Chapter 55: How to be as obedient as possible
Xu Yucheng wanted to remind the Taoist priest, but he had already started, so she swallowed what she was about to say.
She kept her eyes on the Taoist priest. The next second, she heard a sentence she couldn't understand. Halfway through the sentence, the Taoist priest secretly lowered his head.
Her eyes widened because she saw the small black words on the Taoist's palm, just like the cheat sheets for an exam. She glanced at it and then continued to read.
Xu Yucheng understood the last sentence, "Taishang Laojun is as urgent as the law."
The Taoist priest took out a large red cloth from the table and said, "The five of you, take the talismans and follow me into the house."
Enter the house? Panic and fear immediately flashed across the faces of several people.
"Don't worry, those monsters and ghosts won't dare to do anything with me here."
Several men were still afraid, but after seeing what the Taoist priest did, Xu Yucheng was not so scared anymore, but his steps were a little hesitant.
The Taoist priest and the onlookers kept urging in their ears, and just when a few of them arrived at the door of the house, they suddenly heard a creepy sound.
"Ah——" A man picked up the talisman and put it directly on his face.
Xu Yucheng's face changed and she wanted to turn around and leave.
The Taoist priest was closest to her and tried to push her into the house with trembling hands, but before he could touch her, he was kicked into the house.
Zhou Yichen pulled the little girl into his arms and looked coldly at the people on the ground inside the house.
Several men holding talismans hid behind him.
The onlookers were somewhat dissatisfied and said, "Who else but you? Don't you know we are doing serious business?"
"Yeah, it's not a big deal. What if it disturbs something unclean in the house?"
Several people echoed, "That's right."
The Taoist priest also stood up and looked at the tall man in front of him. His eyes moved, and he raised his hand and pointed at him, saying seriously, "It is because of this man's disturbance that the ghost has now run away. You should seek help from another expert."
After saying that, he just wanted to pat his butt and leave.
Someone hurriedly tried to persuade him, "Master, don't go. Try again, try again."
They all directed their accusations at the man at the door.
Xu Yucheng couldn't stand others talking about Zhou Zhou, so she stood up and shouted at the Taoist priest, "Wait a minute."
The Taoist's eyes flashed, and he turned around, "What?"
"I doubt you can catch ghosts."
"What!" The Taoist pretended to be calm, but he was a little angry. "What nonsense are you talking about, girl?"
Xu Yucheng said slowly, "You look like a fake. You secretly wrote the spells you just recited on your hands, and this talisman has faded."
The man who had just put the talisman on his face reached out to take it, and everyone saw that his face turned yellow.
The Taoist priest panicked and wanted to escape.
Someone shouted, "Catch him, he took a lot of money from us!"
The Taoist priest was wearing a long robe, which made it difficult for him to move, so he was naturally caught quickly.
Everyone went to the Taoist priest and no one noticed the man at the door walk in.
Xu Yucheng was comforted by him and waited outside the door, holding the milk tea bought by Zhou Zhou. She looked at the person who came in with some worry.
However, the creepy voice that was heard was getting closer and closer, and the people surrounding the Taoist priest became nervous.
"Zhou Zhou."
Zhou Yichen walked out with a cell phone in his hand. It was obvious that the sound everyone heard came from that cell phone.
Xu Yucheng breathed a sigh of relief. It was good that there was no so-called ghost. She had some doubts when the Taoist priest was performing the ritual, but it was the creepy voice that made her a little scared.
He took her to the Taoist priest and threw the phone to him.
Someone saw what was displayed on their phone and exclaimed, "This is an alarm clock!"
What!!! This is the alarm clock that scared the neighbors all night?
The Taoist priest was pinned to the ground and struggled hard.
Zhou Yichen lowered his eyes and his face darkened. This man had just wanted to push his little girl in.
He looked down at the Taoist priest with a cold tone, "Speak."
The Taoist priest was startled and kicked by someone. He admitted, "I can't catch ghosts."
One of the people gathered around said, "But I saw your sign on the street saying catching ghosts. You're a liar, you cheated us out of so much money."
Xu Yucheng placed the talisman in front of him, "What about this?"
"It's freshly painted and dyed not long ago."
Everyone was angry. The middle-aged woman pointed at the things on the table and asked, "Where are those?"
The Taoist priest was kicked on the back again and said weakly, "I looked it up on the Internet."
Xu Yucheng added, "His beard is fake too."
"You liar, I'm going to kick you a few more times!"
"Just call the police and have him arrested."
She was still watching the fun when someone behind her grabbed her neck with one hand and dragged her away.
"Hey, Zhou Zhou, let me take a look later."
Zhou Yichen led her to the road, pinched her ear with his hand, and gritted his teeth, "You followed someone else without knowing him."
Xu Yucheng reached out and tugged at the corner of his clothes, whispering, "This is my first time seeing a ghost hunter, I want to see it."
He glanced over, put his hand on his forehead and chuckled, then looked down at her, "Did you see it?"
She shook her head.
"You can tell that the man is fake, but he's still standing there."
Xu Yucheng explained, "I just had a suspicion. I just wanted to see if he could catch me. I didn't expect that Taoist priest to push me in."
She looked up, smiled and praised, "But luckily Zhou Zhou came in time, otherwise I would have been scared even if it was the sound of a cell phone."
He muttered to himself, "I wonder who put a cell phone in there. The sound is scary even in the daytime. It's so evil."
Zhou Yichen just looked at her and talked for a long time. He sighed and rubbed her head, then softened his voice and said, "Remember not to run around next time."
"Hmm!" Xu Yucheng put a straw into the cup of milk tea, a smile on her face. "I was wondering where Zhou Zhou had gone. Turns out it was because it was too hot, so she bought me milk tea."
Handing it to him, "Would you like a drink?"
Zhou Yichen refused. He didn't like these sweet things, but the little girl liked to drink them. Otherwise, he would never have queued in a milk tea shop just to wait for this cup of milk tea in his life.
"Let's go, I'll take you back to the hotel after dinner."
The two held hands tightly and strolled on the busy street.
"Zhou Zhou, let's go to the beach tomorrow."
He responded to her, "Okay."
At night, after washing up, Xu Yucheng was lying in the soft quilt, chatting with Zheng Yu on her mobile phone.
Looking at the message sent over there, she couldn't stop smiling.
[Chengzi, you have no idea. Wu Shuo is even lazier than I thought. This morning, I thought I was up late and was really embarrassed, but he actually slept until three in the afternoon.]
Then he didn't eat dinner. While his parents were away, he ordered a bunch of fried chicken, barbecued crayfish, and stinky snail noodles, tempting me to commit a crime late at night.
Xu Yucheng replied: [Are you no longer in a cold war with him? ]
Zheng Yu: [It’s a little better now, but that’s only because of the midnight snack.]
[Orange, I'm not going to talk about this for now. He's almost finished eating all the crayfish. I have to go grab some. I'll talk to you tomorrow.]
After replying, Xu Yucheng lay on the bed looking at the white ceiling. The room was large and seemed empty, and suddenly she thought of today's ghost-catching incident.
My body trembled, and I lifted the quilt to cover my head. The more I thought about it, the more scared I became. Although it was fake, I couldn't help but be afraid when I thought about this kind of scene in my mind at night.
The next second, he threw the quilt aside, and without even waiting to put on his slippers, he ran to the door. His steps were so fast that it seemed as if someone was chasing him. He quickly opened the door and went to the next room.
Zhou Yichen was leaning against the headboard looking at an electronic document on his phone when a soft little body crawled into his bed.
Xu Yucheng leaned hard into his arms, her voice trembling, "Zhou Zhou, I'm scared."
He exposed the little girl's head and touched her face. "What are you afraid of?"
"ghost."
She buried her head in his arms, and her words were muffled and a little aggrieved.
Zhou Yichen stopped laughing and said slowly, "Then Chengcheng wants to sleep with me?"
"Isn't it possible?" Xu Yucheng raised her head. Her hair was messed up in the quilt, as if she had been bullied by someone.
"Of course you can, but Chengcheng, please behave yourself." The little girl's feet kept moving in the quilt. He was at the age of full vigor and vitality, and the person in his arms was the one he loved most.
But the person in his arms was still blinking his bright eyes and staring at him with an innocent look.
Zhou Yichen gritted his teeth secretly and pressed her head down with one hand.
"Um--Zhou Zhou." Xu Yucheng's eyes suddenly went dark.
His Adam's apple rolled and his breathing became heavier. "Sleep."
"oh."
She is as obedient as she can be.
