The next day was full of classes. After class, Xu Yi ate a pancake and returned to the dormitory building. He found Xiaomei in the corner of the laundry room.
"Schoolgirl, you're really here?! I thought you wouldn't come."
Xiaomei said happily as she came out from the corner.
The camphor tree outside the dormitory building blocks the sunlight, allowing Xiaomei to move freely in the laundry room during the day.
"Where is your home?" Looking at the very happy Xiaomei, he smiled at her.
Fearing that Xu Yi was unwilling to go, Xiaomei looked at her pitifully.
"It's right next door to Jin City, not far away. It only takes three hours by car."
I took out my phone and checked. There was a high-speed train that would get me there in an hour, so I quickly bought the nearest ticket.
He took out a black oil-paper umbrella and pointed it at little Menun.
"Come in, we have to hurry to the high-speed rail station."
The oil-paper umbrella, covered in black, looks a bit scary.
But Xiaomei felt that this oil-paper umbrella made her feel at ease.
It turned directly into a wisp of green smoke and went into the oil-paper umbrella.
A muffled sound came from the oil-paper umbrella.
"Master, my home is on the 8th floor, Unit 2, Building 7, No. 235, Shiyou Road, Jinshi."
A girl carrying a lunch box was walking towards them. She seemed to have heard Xiaomei's voice, looked around, and saw only Xu Yi. She felt something strange.
He patted his head and muttered.
"I slept too late last night, are you hallucinating?"
Took the clothes out of the washing machine and left.
Seeing that the girl had walked into her dormitory and there was no one in the corridor, Xu Yi whispered to the oil-paper umbrella:
"Don't talk anymore. It will be bad if you scare other people. I will take you home right away.
Don't talk until I let you out of the umbrella. Got it?"
There was a soft knocking sound coming from inside the oil-paper umbrella.
…
Two hours later, Xu followed the address Xiaomei gave him and arrived at No. 235, Shiyou Road, Jinshi. When he entered the community, he saw a group of children playing in the open space in the community.
A middle-aged woman with white hair, wearing a Chinese long skirt, sat on the bench nearby, watching the children playing motionlessly.
His eyes were full of envy and nostalgia.
It seemed as if I saw another person in the child.
Looking at the woman's face that was similar to Xiaomei's, Xu Yi knew that the white-haired woman in front of her was the person they were looking for.
She whispered to the oil-paper umbrella, "Xiaomei, come out, we're here."
"good."
As soon as Xiaomei came out, she saw the white-haired woman at a glance, as if by telepathy.
"Mom, that's my mom. Why is her hair all white? She's not even 60 years old."
She cried and said to Xu Yi, her face full of tears.
After she finished speaking, she wanted to rush over, but Xu Yi grabbed her.
"Don't go over there now, there are kids all around, don't bump into them.
Besides, your mother is not in good health right now. If you go directly over there, the ghost energy on you will be bad for her health. Besides, she won't be able to see you if you go over now."
Although the distance was so close, she couldn't immediately run up and hug her mother like she used to.
Xiaomei could only worry, her eyes never leaving the woman.
"Master, what should we do? I really want to talk to my mother. Please help me think of a solution."
"You're just anxious. I didn't say I wouldn't help you. If I couldn't help you, why would I bring you here?"
Xu Yi patted her back and gave her a reassuring look.
"Look at me next, don't move here."
She nodded, looked at Xu Yi, and approached her mother step by step.
Xu Yi walked to Xiaomei's mother, sat on a stool, turned around and greeted Xiaomei's mother.
"Hello, Auntie."
"Hello." Zhang Xiangxiang nodded to Xu Yi, then turned her gaze to the child.
The little fat boy in front was not walking very steadily, but he took big steps. He rushed down a small slope, rolled over, and fell to the ground.
"Wow... Mommy... Woo woo woo..."
When Zhang Xiangxiang saw the chubby little boy fall to the ground, she rushed over and helped the child up.
"Thank you, grandma..."
Children's emotions come and go quickly. The chubby boy brushed off the dirt on his body, turned around and ran to play with his toy car.
Looking at the chubby little boy who was having fun, Zhang Xiangxiang turned around dejectedly and sat back on the bench.
"If Meimei were here, her child would probably be this big by now!"
"Auntie, do you like children so much?" Xu Yi gave Zhang Xiangxiang a bright smile when she saw her come back.
Hearing this question, Zhang Xiangxiang sighed and looked at the children playing happily and laughing not far away, full of envy.
"My Xiaomei is gone, and now I can only look after other people's children."
"Auntie, do you want to see Xiaomei again?"
This sentence undoubtedly dropped a bombshell on Zhang Xiangxiang.
"What did you say? I can still see Xiaomei? Where is she? Where is she? My daughter Xiaomei, where is she?"
She grabbed Xu Yi's arm and stared at him.
"Auntie, don't worry. Xiaomei is right next to us, but there are so many people here that she can't come out. So let's go home and I'll let you see him, okay?"
She patted the back of Zhang Xiangxiang's hand and said a few words to comfort her.
Hearing this, Zhang Xiangxiang looked around, "Xiaomei is here, is it true? My daughter is here!"
I don't know when Xiaomei came over, stood aside, and cried like rain.
"Mom, I'm here. I miss you so much. Let's go home."
