Chapter 26: Get a Little Brother

Xu Yi turned her head and looked at Zheng Yibai's face carefully.

Sometimes he shook his head, sometimes he nodded.

Zheng Yibai's heart was suddenly in turmoil when he saw her reaction.

"What's wrong? What's wrong with me?"

Xu Yi shook her head. "Nothing, you're just unlucky."

"Sister, fellow Taoist, good brother, please help me! I like this job." Zheng Yibai began to beg.

It’s so hard to find something you love, you have to stick with it.

"Passion is one thing, ability is another, do you understand?" Xu Yi once again hit Zheng Yibai's heart.

Zheng Yibai is not someone who can reach the top. It is a good thing to have dreams, but the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.

With a thud, Zheng Yibai knelt on his knees, "I beg Brother Xu to give me some guidance."

Xu Yi was confused by his actions. What was going on? Why was he kneeling down like that?

Even if Xu Yi was thick-skinned, she would still feel embarrassed if she was constantly being watched by passing students. "Get up! Let's talk it over!"

"Agree! Agree! Give me a kiss! Give me a kiss!" More and more students gathered around, thinking they were watching a courtship scene.

Xu Yi's face turned pale with anger. Seeing someone kneeling on the ground with a clear conscience, she felt even angrier.

"Get up right now, or don't even mention knowing me anymore!! Anything else is out of the question!"

Seeing Xu Yi was really angry, Zheng Yibai kicked his legs and stood straight. He scratched his head, showing his big white teeth, and bowed to the onlookers.

"Hehe, thank you guys for your support! But I'm just asking for some advice for my hobby! I'm not asking for love! Don't get the wrong idea." He quickly clarified.

The onlookers sighed, thinking they were witnessing a courtship, but...

"Tsk! Boring!"

In an instant, all the onlookers who had gathered in three layers left.

Xu Yi also quickly pulled Zheng Yibai away.

Zheng Yibai: "Sister Xu, who is your teacher?"

Xu Yi: "I learned by myself. I don't have any school or sect."

Zheng Yibai: "Can you teach me? I'm very smart."

Xu Yi: "Don't you have a master? I don't accept disciples."

Zheng Yibai: "It's okay, I'll just be your little brother! Big brother, if you need anything, just tell me what to do next!"

Xu Yi had just finished dealing with the matters on the construction site. Now, hearing Zheng Yibai chattering in her ears, she quickened her pace back to the dormitory.

I agreed perfunctorily, "Yeah."

Zheng Yibai jumped up and down as he circled around her. "Really? You agreed! I'm so happy!"

"Boss, what's my first mission? I'm so excited right now!"

He rolled his eyes at the school hunk who kept lingering in front of him, and felt a headache coming on.

I regretted agreeing just now!

"Get out of my sight right now!"

After saying that, he ignored Zheng Yibai and strode towards the dormitory.

Zheng Yibai immediately fell silent. He raised his hand to his mouth, swiped it from left to right, and closed it tightly.

He carefully controlled his body and speed as he approached Xu Yi, fearing that he would accidentally anger the boss.

"Fellow Daoist, Fellow Daoist Xu, Boss! Wait for me!"

Hearing the shouting from behind, Xu Yi held his forehead helplessly.

Why is this unlucky guy still haunting us?

It seemed that she had to resort to some drastic measures. She stopped and turned around.

"Zheng Yibai, can you draw talismans?"

Xu Yi suddenly stopped, and Zheng Yibai almost bumped into her. He stopped a step away from her, and now his body was staggering.

"What?"

Xu Yi asked again. "I said, can you draw talismans?"

Zheng Yibai raised his right hand and answered excitedly: "I can draw talismans! I can! I can draw talismans for good luck, peace, and exorcism! I can draw them all!"

Like a primary school student actively answering the teacher's questions.

"Okay, your first task is to draw all the talismans you know how to draw and show them to me tomorrow." Xu Yi assigned the tasks seriously.

I feel a little proud inside and think that I do have some talent to be a teacher.

"Okay, okay, boss! I'll go back and draw now! I promise to complete the task!" Zheng Yibai saluted.

This is his first mission!

It has to be completed even if you have to stay up all night!

"Then go back and paint well. I'm leaving first." Xu Yi was so happy to finally get rid of this clingy little brother. The corners of her mouth kept rising.

Zheng Yibai stood at attention obediently. When he heard Xu Yi was about to go back, he immediately asked in a flattering manner: "Okay, boss. Do you want me to take you home? It's not safe for a girl to go back alone at night!"

"Me? Unsafe?" Xu Yi rolled her eyes.

This kid always lets her down.

Stay calm! Stay calm!

"Hehe, it seems that this thing doesn't exist. Even the big ghosts can be dealt with obediently, so what are you afraid of!" Zheng Yibai scratched the back of his head and laughed.

"Okay, that's it! I'm leaving first." Xu Yi waved his hand, and his figure gradually blended into the night.

Seeing Xu Yi's disappearing back, Zheng Yibai suddenly remembered that he could only draw one talisman a day, even when he was in good condition.

How do I complete the first task?

It seems that staying up all night is inevitable.

I just don't know if staying up late can produce the desired effect and allow him to draw the talisman.

The next evening, Xu Yi was enjoying the delicious cold dishes in the second cafeteria when she heard the sound of money ringing on her cell phone.

I picked up my phone and saw that Xia Tian had transferred 200,000 yuan to me.

I love this summer: Master Xu! There are no more weird things happening at the construction site! You really are a capable person!

Thank you! I'll treat you to a meal when you're free!
