In the living room, Ouyang didn't dare turn up the TV too loudly, for fear of upsetting the "young master" inside.
During this time, Dongya called her once and said that he had been abroad and would not be back for a few weeks. She became bored and became Xia Yue's half nanny and half secretary.
"Hello?" Xia Yue's home phone had almost become her office accessory. "He's busy. What can I do for you?"
"It's like this," the other party said, "We are here to inform Mr. Xia that his design has been selected by our company. Please tell him to come to Building A at 9:00 tomorrow morning to discuss further cooperation."
"knew."
After hanging up the phone, she walked into the study and told him the news she had just heard on the phone.
"Building A," he said, concentrating on his work and handing her a cooperation plan. "Just help me negotiate it."
"I'm going to negotiate?" She looked at him in surprise. "How would I know how you're going to cooperate with others? I'm not going."
"I have a few collaborations waiting for me to complete," Xia Yue begged her, "It's very simple. As long as they agree to the above conditions, we can sign the contract at any time."
She carefully picked up the plan from among the numerous manuscripts, then cautiously walked out and wrote down a few more tasks in her notebook. She had helped him solve this kind of problem more than once in the past few days. She didn't know why he didn't set up his own studio instead of hiding in her study.
A studio? That's a good idea. Just help him get a studio so he doesn't have to work at home, and then she can have her own space.
“Knock knock knock!”
"What else?"
"If you don't mind, I can help you find a nice studio and a secretary."
"What are you thinking about?" Xia Yue looked at her. "This is good. Once these drawings are finished, I can take a vacation. Why would I want to set up a studio?"
Seeing his reluctance, Ouyang kicked the door: "Then don't treat me as your secretary! And take care of dinner yourself."
She went to the courtyard and hid under the shade of the tree that smelled of grapes.
"Your Uncle Zhuo went to work," Aunt Lin made her iced tea. "He didn't know you were coming, otherwise I would have called him."
"It's okay. I'm not looking for him. I just want to come here and find some peace and quiet."
"Okay then," Aunt Lin went back to the kitchen, "You stay here, I'll go bake something."
"Thank you, Aunt Lin."
Under the shade of the tree, she gradually fell asleep. When she woke up, the sun had already set. Zhuo Qiang walked in from outside and saw Ouyang: "Ouyang is here?"
"Yeah," she rubbed her eyes, "Uncle Zhuo, you're back?"
"I just finished work," he handed his coat to Aunt Lin and went to sit next to her. "What troubles have you encountered?"
"Nothing much, Xia Yue just moved in with me temporarily because her house is being renovated."
"The two of them don't get along well."
"He's always bossing people around," she said, stretching lazily. "I can't stand his attitude."
Zhuo Qiang raised his brows: "Are you unhappy because someone didn't follow your wishes?"
"He's so much like my godmother," she pointed to the sky, "how arrogant he is. Who can stand him?"
Zhuo Qiang had her at his house for dinner, and when she returned, something had changed in the apartment. The study had returned to its original state, with a bowl of sweet soup on the table. Xia Yue was nowhere to be seen. She opened the door to the next room and found he had fallen asleep.
She closed the door carefully and returned to her room. She reflected on herself and wondered if her attitude today was too much and made him angry.
The next morning, she was supposed to go and discuss cooperation with him, but he had already put on his suit: "I'll go by myself, you don't have to go." He took the various documents from her hands, stayed at the computer and left.
She wondered what was wrong with this man today. Was it because she had given him some stimulation yesterday that left her confused?
"Ouyang," Xia Yue said to her as she left, "I've been bothering you recently."
"Forehead."
Unsure of what was going on, she entered the study and sorted through some books before discovering the USB drive plugged into the computer. She remembered putting it away in a drawer after reading it last time. How could it be here now? Had Xia Yu read the contents? No wonder he looked so strange and was so polite to her.
Ouyang pulled it out and put it back where it came from. Then he went to the kitchen and took a bottle of water from the refrigerator. Suddenly he saw a cake in the innermost part.
"Yesterday was his birthday?" A bombardment of messages appeared before her eyes. What had she done? She must have hurt his feelings. How could she be so stupid? She had seen his ID information a few days ago when she was helping him negotiate the contract. She knew it was his birthday yesterday, so why did she do such a ridiculous thing?
Sitting on the sofa, biding her time, she probably felt that Xia Yue's contract was almost negotiated, so she called him, but no one answered.
"Ding ding ding!" The phone at home rang.
"Hello?"
"Ouyang?" It was my godfather's voice. "Is Xia Yue at your house?"
"Um, he was here, but he's out for work now."
"Oh, that's right. I called his home yesterday but no one answered. I was also afraid of disturbing his work by calling his cell phone," the godfather said slowly. "I don't know if he celebrated his birthday or not."
"oh."
"Why?" Godfather was also a little disappointed, "Didn't you celebrate together yesterday?"
"I just remembered it today when I saw the cake he put in the refrigerator," Ouyang explained, "I knew it, but I just forgot. Don't worry, godfather, I'll make him a cake tonight."
