Chapter 112 Invitation

Chen Qiao felt that Jin Lu was not paying attention to him, but to Ouyang who was sitting opposite him.

"Ouyang," he waited until Chen Qiao finished speaking before he had another chance to ask, "You always avoid me?"

Ouyang checked the time and said, "It's almost time. The concert should be starting soon."

Seeing her being so rude, Shen Qiao apologized to him: "I'm sorry, I'm looking forward to the performance later."

Jin Lu nodded, ate the last piece of food, and stood up to leave.

Chen Qiao still held Zhuo Qiang's hand intimately as they walked behind Ouyang. Chen Qiao's personal taste was quite good, but if she could restrain her fiery gaze towards Jin Lu, it might also indicate that she had some feelings for Zhuo Qiang.

In this case, she couldn't figure out why Uncle Zhuo would like such a woman. Was it just because of her appearance?

What she didn't expect was that Uncle Zhuo was very generous. He asked the driver to buy a bouquet of flowers and asked her to send it to Jin Lu.

Jin Lu received the flowers and expressed her gratitude, then looked at Ouyang standing behind them. She was not a patient person, and after looking at the relationship between Chen Qiao and Ouyang, she could probably see some clues.

Ouyang received a message on her phone. It was from Grandpa Zhuo. It seemed that they were getting anxious waiting. Ouyang put her phone away and said, "Uncle Zhuo, Grandpa's lung disease has recurred." She seemed a little anxious and then walked out.

"Really?" Zhuo Qiang let go of Chen Qiao's hand, "I'll ask the driver to take you back later." He followed Ouyang.

When he got home, Ouyang didn't expect that his grandfather was really sick. It was because he was too anxious, got angry, and felt unwell.

Zhuo Qiang and Grandpa stayed in the room for a long time. Grandma was worried about Grandpa's health. She went to the kitchen to make a bowl of egg noodles for Grandma: "Grandma, you must be hungry. Eat something first."

"Ouyang," Grandma said, "Actually, your grandfather and I don't want to interfere with Zhuo Qiang's relationship, but being an actor is not suitable for him anyway."

"Grandma," she comforted him, "When I just came back, I told Uncle Zhuo that Grandpa was sick, and he rushed back in a hurry. I can see that Uncle Zhuo still cares about Grandpa and you very much."

"Have you met that man?" asked Grandma.

"You mean that star? Shen Qiao."

Grandma nodded and said, "Sometimes I think about it. If a person misses something important, he will spend his whole life trying to make up for it. Just like your Uncle Zhuo missed your mother, he will make up for this loss in his whole life."

At this time, Uncle Zhuo came out, saw them talking, stood not far away and said, "Mom, let's go." Zhuo Qiang stretched out his hand, motioning for Ouyang to go with him.

Ouyang stood up, said goodbye to his grandmother, and drove Uncle Zhuo back to the courtyard.

Arriving at the gate of the courtyard, Zhuo Qiang didn't rush to get out of the car. Instead, he asked, "Ouyang, do you think Uncle Zhuo's behavior is inappropriate?"

She turned her head and saw the worry on Uncle Zhuo's face: "Uncle Zhuo, you know, I never ask about your life."

Uncle Zhuo smiled self-deprecatingly and said, "Go back early." He got out of the car and stood at the door watching her get into the car.

As for what Uncle Zhuo and Grandpa talked about in the room, Ouyang didn't know, nor did he hear anything from Grandma. He only knew that Grandpa no longer opposed Uncle Zhuo's love life, and his health was gradually recovering.

Two days later, Ji Ou appeared at the door of the apartment again. His right hand had recovered well, and his face had become more rosy. He was holding a bottle of red wine and said with a smile, "Ouyang, I came here specially to thank you today."

After inviting him in, Ouyang prepared cups and some cakes and drank with him. This man's words were extremely interesting, as if everything changed once he spoke, especially those dramatic plots, which sometimes made Ouyang laugh uncontrollably.

"Ji Ou, you're so funny," Ouyang praised. "You talk as if you've experienced it yourself."

His eyes changed a little, but soon returned to normal: "By the way, have you been handling any cases recently?"

She shook her head.

"What's wrong?" Seeing that she was in a bad mood, the other party asked, "Where are your friends?"

"They all have something to do and left." Ouyang shook the wine in his hand.

"It looks like you're the only one left?" Ji Ou said, "It's really pitiful."

She smiled: "How am I pitiful? I'm not injured like you."

Ji Ou mentioned the system, and he was more interested in it than Dong Ya. Ouyang became more vigilant, because Ji Ou's code name in the system was JO, the person who had caused them so much trouble.

During the conversation, Ji Ou recounted various bizarre cases and explained why he was so interested in her. Perhaps it was that night in the Xinrong Building; perhaps it was the privilege of seeing "Miss Detective" in the system; perhaps it was because she had helped him when he was injured last time. Regardless, he had developed an interest in her and wanted to invite her to a dance as his partner.

"I think a genius will not allow his talent to be buried in the desert where no one can see it." Ji Ou spoke very tactfully.

"Maybe I'm just that kind of person." She just wants to do what she likes.

"If I asked you to go to the dance with me," he said, pulling out an invitation, "I think you'd refuse outright."

She looked at it and realized that she had never been very interested in participating in such public activities.

"If there are a few people you're interested in at this ball," he pushed the invitation in front of her, "Da Tang and Yu, I don't think you will refuse."
